We wanted to arm the reader with practical knowledge and questions to ask their prospective attorneys. To achieve this we gathered some of the best lawyers in Kansas City, Missouri in areas of personal injury, family law, criminal law, employment law, tax law, bankruptcy, etc. We asked these lawyers to put themselves in the place of their clients and write a chapter giving an overview of the types of claims that each potential client could have. This book is meant to answer the questions of "Do I need a lawyer?" and "How can I tell if I hired the right lawyer?" We hope you find this book helpful for any legal problem you may face in Kansas or Missouri. Good luck!

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: In Texas the probate process is just that, it is a process. It involves needing legal representation. When there is no will, or estate plan and especially when heirs are fighting, it can be a labored and delayed process. It can be said with great certainty that disputes can cause major delays in the probate process and be more expense. It's important, when reviewing this process to see the value of having an estate plan. Whether you consider making a will, which can help expedite probate and make things move along nicely or you consider creating a trust that will avoid probate altogether; it's always a good idea to find ways to facilitate the process of probate. My personal goal for my clients is to allow easy transfer of assets directly from the decedent to the beneficiaries or maintain the assets in a trust with no further action needed until a next death. Grief tends to linger near the surface when you're the one in charge of a recently-deceased family member's estate through the lengthy probate process. While this may tempt you to rush through the probate timeline, doing so is impractical and often impossible. Probate of a loved one's estate can sometimes be necessary after they pass away. Navigating the court process while you are grieving can be overwhelming. Conversely, by having action steps in place with a will or trust, you can help reduce the stress and suffering of the loved ones you might leave behind. As a Texas state board-certified estate planning and probate attorney, I work to find the least time-consuming process available to transfer your loved one's assets to the intended heirs and beneficiaries. I hope this book has provided you with the information you need about the probate process in Texas and "what it looks like". I hope after reading this you feel more comfortable about moving forward with the probate process even though you may be in a situation of grief. It's important to move forward in a timely manner and not miss out on important probate deadlines.

Book excerpt: Contrary to popular belief, the presence of a will does not mean there will be no need for the probate process. Estate planners know this and when you hire an experienced one, you can by-pass the probate process. When this is not the case, however, and probate becomes inevitable, you should know that the process does not need to be complicated. As long as the necessary forms are filed, required persons are notified and proper procedures are followed; it can be over in a few months. This DIY Probate Book informs you where all the legal practitioners and agents will prefer that you pay a consultancy fee before they speak to you. Armed with this book, you can choose how you want to go about the administration of an estate that must go through the probate process. While the State of Florida requires that you must hire an attorney because probate could become complex for the non-lawyer, it wouldn't hurt if you knew what goes on during probate before it starts. This book is written in the most layman terms because the author understands that law and its jargon can be hard to understand. The book has been divided into 4 sections dealing with specific aspects of probate. The structure of the Table of Contents allows you to skip to the section, chapter, or page that most addresses the questions you have. The information you need before you hire an attorney is right here and you can get started today!

Instead, you're working insane hours, not making the money you had hoped, and are not fulfilled by your life as a lawyer. Ali Katz was struggling with the same issues while also being a single mom who needed control of her calendar. When she saw major flaws in the way lawyers, like herself, were taught to serve families and small business owners, she decided to do something about it. Ali developed a new way to practice law-one that puts relationships before transactions. And while that made her happy, the icing on the cake was that she started generating over $1 million annually in just three years, all while going to her office just three days a week. Now, Ali brings this knowledge and experience to bear in The New Law Business Model. If you're a lawyer, there's no need to abandon your dreams. In this book, Ali shows how to use your most valuable asset-your law degree-for the good of families, small businesses, and most importantly, your well-being. Pulling from her own journey, Ali shares the roadmap she followed and insights she found that made her success possible. The old law business model is broken. It's time to replace it with one that works for you, your family, and your clients. It's time to take back your time, your income, and your humanity. The New Law Business Model was created to guide inspired lawyers like you into a new era.
