Download or read book The Kennel Stud Book written by Cornelius Tongue and published by Forgotten Books. This book was released on 2017-12-24 with total page 596 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Excerpt from The Kennel Stud Book: Containing Lists of the Most Celebrated Packs of Foxhounds, With the Pedigrees of Stud Hounds In all cases Hounds are understood to belong to the Kennels at which they are entered, whether bred at home or purchased as drafts from other establishments. When a Sire or Dam belonging to another Kennel is introduced, the name of the Master who entered such Hound is expressed. Stud Hounds and Dams, if obtained from other establishments, are in all cases inserted under the names of the owners of the Packs in which they were bred or entered, and will be found, if their ancestry be known, in the lists of those Packs, or in the Pedigrees of the Stud Hounds belonging to the said Packs. As it frequently happens that the name of a Sire or Dam descends to a son or daughter, the date of entry being given, the Hound is easily recognised. To avoid unnecessary repetition, when the genealogy runs back in one or more lines to the same progenitor, the Name and Pedigree, having once been given, is not repeated, as the date affords sufficient identity of the Hound. Book Synopsis Hunting in Many Countries (Classic Reprint) by : Charles Richardson
Download or read book Hunting in Many Countries (Classic Reprint) written by Charles Richardson and published by Forgotten Books. This book was released on 2018-02-06 with total page 276 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Excerpt from Hunting in Many Countries IN the following pages the author has attempted a double task: he has gathered from the experience of many years recollections of runs with packs of hounds whose names are familiar to all, and he has complied with the wishes of friends in the North of England and elsewhere in giving particulars of certain packs which have hitherto been neglected by fox-hunting historians. He has not aimed in all these cases at giving the details which should be presented in every complete history of a hunt, but has relied rather on his own personal knowledge of countries with which he can claim to be fairly well acquainted. Some of the runs belong to recent days, others to hunting history. Three great runs, which may rightly be called historical, took place more than fifty years ago, and the author's descriptions Of them have since been confirmed and corroborated in the Field by others who had been present.
