Download or read book Hydraulic Performance Evaluation written by Vidya Mandave and published by LAP Lambert Academic Publishing. This book was released on 2013 with total page 96 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The mini sprinkler method of irrigation is recently introduced pressurized irrigation method. The basic objective of mini sprinkler is to simulate rainfall and to apply uniform water to crop. The performance of mini-sprinkler is judged by its uniformity of distribution of water which depends on the proper, efficient and economic design of the system. The important parameter in mini sprinkler irrigation is to optimize the spacing between mini sprinklers for different crops which influences the discharge, uniformity and cost. Considering the aspects and complexity in the management of mini sprinkler irrigation system, present investigation is planned to generate information on the distribution profile, precipitation characteristics and hydraulic performance of mini sprinklers. Thus overall finding reveals that, coefficient of uniformity increases with pressure from 2 to 3 kg cm-2 and then decreases with pressure from 3 to 4 kg cm-2. Accordingly, contour graph results, more uniform distribution with 3.0 kg cm-2 operating pressure as compared to all other operating pressures.

Download or read book Planning and Evaluation of Irrigation Projects written by Raveendra Kumar Rai and published by Academic Press. This book was released on 2017-04-06 with total page 680 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Planning and Evaluation of Irrigation Projects: Methods and Implementation presents the considerations, options and factors necessary for effective implementation of irrigation strategies, going further to provide methods for evaluating the efficiency of systems-in-place for remedial correction as needed. As the first book to take this lifecycle approach to agricultural irrigation, it includes real-world examples not only on natural resource availability concerns, but also on financial impacts and measurements. With 21 chapters divided into two sections, this book is a valuable resource for agricultural and hydrology engineers, conservation scientists and anyone seeking to implement and maintain irrigation systems. Uses real-world examples to present practical insights Incorporates both planning and evaluation for full-scope understanding and application Illustrates both potential benefits and limitations of irrigation solutions Provides potential means to increase crop productivity that can result in improved farm income
