Book excerpt: O processo de inclusão de alunos que por algum motivo – físico, mental, econômico e/ou cultural – são excluídos das salas de aula do ensino regular é um tema que se faz presente nas políticas educacionais atuais e nos debates sobre uma educação de qualidade para o século XXI. As teorias e práticas deste processo ainda estão sendo construídas, a isso se deve os constantes equívocos em saber no que consiste incluir e conseguir identificar práticas inclusivas de praticas integracionistas. Na expectativa de contemplar práticas inclusivas e lançar novos olhares à educação, o livro “A Etnomatemática no contexto do Ensino Inclusivo” mostra como os professores de uma escola inclusiva lidam com os alunos, na disciplina Matemática, de modo a corroborar o processo de inclusão. O livro é fruto de uma pesquisa de mestrado realizada em uma escola do projeto CIEJA – Centro Integrado de Educação de Jovens e Adultos – da Secretaria de Educação da cidade de São Paulo, que oferece o ensino fundamental na modalidade supletivo. Para a realização da pesquisa foram observados quatro professores, sendo três com formação em matemática e um com formação em pedagogia, e suas práticas, em sala de aula, são descritas no caderno de campo que o autor traz na integra. Após a análise dos dados, aponta-se que o processo de inclusão, baseado na perspectiva etnomatemática, está ligado à postura ética em que se preza o respeito, a solidariedade e a cooperação, ambiente onde as diferenças são valorizadas e, portanto, propício à inclusão. Salienta-se também que, para o processo de inclusão, não há um modelo pronto; o que existe é a transição da integração para a inclusão e, por isso, podem ser detectadas práticas não inclusivas mesmo em um ambiente com proposta inclusiva. Este livro não tem o objetivo de oferecer uma receita pronta, pois assim estaria banalizando as diferenças, mas sim encaminhamentos, novos olhares, reflexões sobre as práticas inclusivas já existentes e atenção às práticas não inclusivas.
