Book excerpt: They say what you observe, you absorb... A harsh reality for Vada, Malaya and Ava to learn. Despising what their single mothers endured growing up, made them promise they would never be the same. But what we run from, we become... Vada, a life coach by day and traveling poet by night, wants to live in her real and raw truth. Yet, she's not too friendly with love. A woman who'd rather feel pleasure and pain in between her thighs before ever allowing it back in her heart again, comes across Masego. Intrigued by his quiet aura, but his presence was still the loudest in the room. Curiosity got the best of her, so she decided to get close. Will she allow him inside of her world, or scorch him in the process of trying to burn down her past? Malaya, a single mother trying to figure out parenting with no handbook, while struggling to let go of her turbulent past, that she created with her first love Blake. A woman who is trying to raise the other half of him, in their son Caleb, has to now accept the world they created together was over. Accepting is never easy, especially for Malaya's scorned spirit that she allowed Blake to shake up. Will she let things end peacefully or match his madness? Ava wants to try and sort out her feelings she developed for her bestfriend Vada, in therapy. A woman with a love sick spirit, wondering "Why do we love what doesn't love us back?" Ava knows that she isn't a saint and can be manipulative to get what she wants. Will her therapist be able to show her a mirror reflection of herself? Or will Ava have her feeding out the palm of her hands like everyone else she comes in contact with? Follow these three grown women on a journey of trying to make sense of the present to rewrite a better future.

Book excerpt: It is a devils lie that words dont hurt. One word can carry such tremendous weight and such deep meaning. Look with me at some ordinary words, and some not so ordinary words. Bare your heart honestly before self and before God. See if you identify with any of my struggles. Share with me what has been a fruit of reflecting on His Word and not just mine. I know that I am not alone on this journey of faith. You are on your own journey. Let us reflect on His good Word. It is safe to trust Him enough to be honest with ourselves before Him. He is so good.

Download or read book Reflections written by Yosaris Rodriguez and published by Christian Faith Publishing, Inc.. This book was released on 2023-02-09 with total page 275 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Reflections: Conversations with God is a book geared towards my journey of getting to know Jesus Christ. I started sharing quotes that I deemed as GodaEUR(tm)s words to me on social media, and a friend of mine asked me to think of a hashtag so that I would not lose those quotes. His exact words: aEURoeTrust me, you will use these one day.aEUR The book starts with a spoken-word poem called reflections. The poem reflects on my journey growing up; this sets the tone of the emotional journey we must sometimes face in life. Behind every inspiring quote, a life changing experience occurs. You will notice I do not use chapters; I use dates and quotes. I did this purposely so that I can make this personal and connecting. I am a true believer that God speaks to us in many different ways; if we are ready to listen. He will give you the answers you seek. In this book, I also included pictures that help explain the story I am telling. I pray this book not only encourages you but expands your mind to believe in His everlasting love.

Book Synopsis Richard Rodney Bennett: The Complete Musician by : Paul Harris
Download or read book Richard Rodney Bennett: The Complete Musician written by Paul Harris and published by Omnibus Press. This book was released on 2011-08-01 with total page 533 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Sir Richard Rodney Bennett, in the enormous diversity of his activities, is arguably the most complete musician of all time. Not only does he have a remarkable 300 commissioned concert works to his credit, which have established him among the leading British twentieth-century composers, yet at the same time, with supreme success, he has also contrived to lead several completely different musical lives. For some, he is the ultimate exponent of 'crossover', as epitomised in his remarkable Concerto for Stan Getz and concert works for Cleo Laine. Others remember him as a concert pianist with a special enthusiasm for pioneering contemporary music, his partnerships with Susan Bradshaw, Jane Manning and Barry Tuckwell being particularly notable. Meanwhile, he also has over 70 film and television scores to his credit, the many classic titles ranging from Murder on the Orient Express and Far From the Madding Crowd to Equus and Four Weddings and a Funeral. For cabaret and jazz club devotees, he is, again, something completely different: one of the finest and most knowledgeable of all exponents of the Great American Songbook, a much-in-demand singer and accompanist over the past thirty-five years, and, as such, the stage partner of some of the most glamorous performers in the business. This, then, is a book about a uniquely gifted musician. It is also a study of a most engaging personality and a fascinatingly complex human being. Anthony Meredith, whose two previous collaborations with co-researcher Paul Harris were the highly praised biographies of Malcolm Arnold and Malcolm Williamson, has been a widely published writer over the past twenty-five years. He is a member of MCC, a Friend of Covent Garden and Northern Ballet. His co-researcher, Paul Harris, is a leading music educationalist, well-known for his seminars, workshops and masterclasses, with over 500 books to his name.
