This book was released on 2020-08-25 with total page 276 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The essential military tactics that have enabled commanders from Alexander the Great to General Giap to achieve victory on the battlefield. This groundbreaking book examines battle tactics that have achieved victory through the ages. Drawing on examples of battles on land, at sea, and in the air, the authors reveal the enduring value of each tactic in clear and compelling descriptions and analysis. How can you draw your enemy off-balance? When is the best moment to deliver a counterattack? What is the effect of shock action or defense in depth? This book shows how certain tactical concepts have stood the test of time. It illustrates how General Robert E. Lee, although heavily outnumbered, achieved a remarkable victory through an audacious flanking maneuver at Chancellorsville in 1863, and how the same bold move had been used effectively in Europe more than 600 years before by the king of France at Bouvines. It examines how Allied armies seized and retained the initiative through the airborne landings in Normandy in 1944, and how Soviet General Zhukov pierced enemy lines using Blitzkrieg tactics in Mongolia in 1939. The book features evocative photographs, illustrations, and paintings, and 28 specially commissioned battle plans.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Explaining the mathematics of cryptography The Mathematics of Secrets takes readers on a fascinating tour of the mathematics behind cryptography—the science of sending secret messages. Using a wide range of historical anecdotes and real-world examples, Joshua Holden shows how mathematical principles underpin the ways that different codes and ciphers work. He focuses on both code making and code breaking and discusses most of the ancient and modern ciphers that are currently known. He begins by looking at substitution ciphers, and then discusses how to introduce flexibility and additional notation. Holden goes on to explore polyalphabetic substitution ciphers, transposition ciphers, connections between ciphers and computer encryption, stream ciphers, public-key ciphers, and ciphers involving exponentiation. He concludes by looking at the future of ciphers and where cryptography might be headed. The Mathematics of Secrets reveals the mathematics working stealthily in the science of coded messages. A blog describing new developments and historical discoveries in cryptography related to the material in this book is accessible at http://press.princeton.edu/titles/10826.html.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: In a world no longer simple with clear enemies and ready strategies to protect oneself, the aging warriors from the Vietnam era are forced to once again fight for their lives. This time, it's not against a peasant force in the steamy jungles of Vietnam defending their homeland. This time they find themselves under attack in the forests of their own homeland by a fanatical force of Jihadists dedicated to the destruction of America itself. In addition o being vastly outnumbered and aging, the Americans have a unique disadvantage: they are all amputees. The only advantage that the Americans have is now it's their homeland that they are defending. To the end, it's not clear whether or not that and the few friendlies that are able to be recruited to the cause will be enough to prevail over their adversaries. The Vietnam Vets Amputee Group is both inspirational and an ode to those brave soldiers that fought not so long ago. They finally might be accorded the respect that they deserve, perhaps posthumously, from a changed and grateful nation.

Book Synopsis 29 Keys to Unlocking Your Faith at Work & Win! by : Lorene Phillips
Download or read book 29 Keys to Unlocking Your Faith at Work & Win! written by Lorene Phillips and published by AuthorHouse. This book was released on 2016-12-02 with total page 95 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Somewhere along the journey of my walk with Christ I was made to believe that the work we do for the Lord within the four walls of the church, i.e. any church ministry activity, was most important and pleasing to God. This teaching did not sit well with me. As I spent more time in the Word and grew in my personal relationship with the Lord I became more and more aware that God wants ALL of my life to be a living sacrifice a life that is fully surrendered to Him and not just that part of my life that I offer within my church. Coming to this realization was a journey of self-acceptance, confidence and authenticity, understanding who I am created to be in Him. I accepted fully that God had a specific plan for my life and that I must be true to the calling He has for me. So, instead of just focusing on participating or even leading church related activities, I started to become more mindful of how I lived my life on a daily basis in my workplace to make sure that I give glory to God in all that I do, say or think. I started to look for opportunities to show and share Christ in my marketplace whenever I could. I love to mentor and coach others and believe that my everyday life in the workplace is where I can be an active and living ambassador for Christ. It is clear that God desires for me to be to be the salt and light in the world the marketplace that he has suited me for both in terms of skills and fit. The calling on our lives is awesome and much bigger than we can imagine. Through this book I want to encourage others to consider and change their lives allowing God complete access to their work life knowing that he cares about us in that sphere and requires us to be his witness as we accomplish our jobs. This book will specifically encourage women and anyone (men, also) who desires to increase their impact and demonstrate their faith in a practical way in the workplace. I share transparently with others how I walk this called out life in the workplace in the most practical ways and provide them with an opportunity to consider ways in which they could become more effective for Christ in the workplace to which God has called them to operate.
