Book Synopsis Compact Modeling by : Gennady Gildenblat
Download or read book Compact Modeling written by Gennady Gildenblat and published by Springer Science & Business Media. This book was released on 2010-06-22 with total page 531 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Most of the recent texts on compact modeling are limited to a particular class of semiconductor devices and do not provide comprehensive coverage of the field. Having a single comprehensive reference for the compact models of most commonly used semiconductor devices (both active and passive) represents a significant advantage for the reader. Indeed, several kinds of semiconductor devices are routinely encountered in a single IC design or in a single modeling support group. Compact Modeling includes mostly the material that after several years of IC design applications has been found both theoretically sound and practically significant. Assigning the individual chapters to the groups responsible for the definitive work on the subject assures the highest possible degree of expertise on each of the covered models.

Book Synopsis Evolutionary Computation Techniques: A Comparative Perspective by : Erik Cuevas
Download or read book Evolutionary Computation Techniques: A Comparative Perspective written by Erik Cuevas and published by Springer. This book was released on 2016-12-28 with total page 236 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This book compares the performance of various evolutionary computation (EC) techniques when they are faced with complex optimization problems extracted from different engineering domains. Particularly focusing on recently developed algorithms, it is designed so that each chapter can be read independently. Several comparisons among EC techniques have been reported in the literature, however, they all suffer from one limitation: their conclusions are based on the performance of popular evolutionary approaches over a set of synthetic functions with exact solutions and well-known behaviors, without considering the application context or including recent developments. In each chapter, a complex engineering optimization problem is posed, and then a particular EC technique is presented as the best choice, according to its search characteristics. Lastly, a set of experiments is conducted in order to compare its performance to other popular EC methods.
