It was named Retreat because students should come during such practice into a State of relaxation and peace of mind, so it is also a good rest.At first such form was used only in Shaolin (China). Students entered that place with pleasure and from all over the world. But the number of participants was limited by different factors, such as: the limited quantity of rooms in a hotel and seats in a restaurant; the limited area for lectures and practice; the necessity to get visa and too long practice (from three to four weeks). The first such a week-long retreat held in January 2003 in a rest zone near Moscow. It gathered, mainly those who already knew what is such practice of Zhong Yuan Qigong (ZYQ) and who had previously attend Shaolin retreats by Master Xu.
