Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: In my pursuit of achieving success, I started reading books and watching relevant motivational videos. I tried to implement what the authors had written about the success and set goals based on the same studies and design a plan to achieve my goal, draw a mental map, design a picture of my future in my mind and a schedule to achieve it, tell myself repeatedly that I am a successful person and write this sentence on a piece of paper many times, and, but there was not much change in my life; and while some people in my field of work, without even reading one book and even with less effort, achieve more impressive success than me; of course, reading books shaped my character to achieve success, but they could not give direction to the path of my life. I set a goal for myself and divided it into smaller goals in order to achieve it in a set time, but later on, the events of my life turned out in such a way that in a short period of time, not only from the path of the goal that I had designed for myself I completely moved away, but I was also on a new path of life that I am still going through. These questions occupied my mind: Why should my work result be much less colorful than my competitors with all that effort, study, and knowledge? Why do some people get what they want easily and others with difficulty? Why do some of their efforts go nowhere, but others succeed easily? Why does it happen that two people who are doing the same thing do not reach the same result? Why do some people try hard to achieve success and move forward with hope, but others do not make any effort to achieve happiness and are always disappointed in life? What is the reason behind the difference in the personalities and lives of people? And questions like this; Until, by reading the Quran and the Holy Bible, I realized some truths, and I realized that all these events are related to the destiny of people, and our destiny includes all the emotions and events of our lives, and it is related to the mentality we have about ourselves and our lives. There are many opinions about fate, some believe in it and others believe that there is no such thing as fate and that all events in people's lives are determined by themselves. It is true that people shape the events of their lives, regarding the pleasant events of life, so what is the burden of the bad events that happen to us? Because no one is willing to see bad things happen in their life; So why cannot we prevent bad events in our lives in some cases? In my opinion, destiny means performing tasks during the lifetime of a being that is designed for him/her in advance. For example, the sun is designed to produce heat and light during its lifetime, the cloud is designed to cause rain, snow, storms, and so on and so forth, and the tree is designed to bear fruit and produces oxygen, and its wood can be used for various purposes, and examples like that. We humans as a being are not exempt from this rule and what will happen to us during our lifetime and what we will do is determined for each of us. It is hoped that reading this book can improve the fate of the reader.

Book excerpt: "It's been twenty years since 9/11, two decades since the United States was attacked on home soil and set out to make the guilty pay with their lives. In the shadows, the enemy has been patient--learning, and adapting. And the enemy is ready to strike again. A new president offers hope to a country weary of conflict. He's a young, popular, self-made visionary...but he's also a man with a secret. Halfway across the globe a regional superpower struggles with sanctions imposed by the United States and her European allies, a country whose ancient religion spawned a group of ruthless assassins. Faced with internal dissent and extrajudicial targeted killings by the United States and Israel, the Supreme Leader puts a plan in motion to defeat the most powerful nation on earth. Meanwhile, a young PhD student has gained access to a bioweapon thought to be confined to a classified military laboratory known only to a select number of officials. A second-generation agent, he has been assigned a mission that will bring his adopted homeland to its knees."--Back cover.

Book excerpt: Shahbaz Taseer’s memoir of his five-year-long captivity at the hands of the Islamic Movement of Uzbekistan. In late August 2011, Shahbaz Taseer was dragged from his car at gunpoint and kidnapped by members of the Islamic Movement of Uzbekistan (IMU), a Talibanaffiliated Uzbek terrorist group. Taseer’s father, the governor of Punjab, Pakistan, had recently been assassinated for speaking in support of a Christian woman who had been accused of blasphemy and sentenced to death. Though Taseer himself wasn’t involved in politics, he was still a public figure who represented a more tolerant, internationally connected Pakistan that the IMU condemned. What followed his kidnapping was nearly five years of torture and constant peril as Taseer was held captive by the IMU in the ungoverned reaches of Pakistan and Afghanistan, his fate subject to the unpredictable whims and machinations of terrorists. Lost to the World is his memoir of that time—a story of extraordinary sorrow but also of empathy and faith. While deeply harrowing, this tale is also about resilience. Taseer countered his captors’ narrative of a holy war by immersing himself in the Quran in search of hope and a means to see his own humanity under even the most inhumane conditions, and ultimately to find a way back to his family.

Book excerpt: Friedrich Schiller, the great German classical poet and friend of the American Revolution, assigned to art the task of ennobling the spirit of Man, especially at those times when political circumstances are most unfavorable, men most degraded, and when the qualities of genius are most urgently required to find a way to avert political catastrophe. Reading Schiller’s poetry, as well as his historical, philosophical, and aesthetic works, has precisely the effect on the sensitive reader of which Schiller informed us--to produce in the reader an ennobling power which then continues to exist long after the reading is done. This is volume I of the four volume collection of translations. Volume I includes Schiller Institute English translations of the following: Don Carlos, Infante of Spain Letters on Don Carlos Theater Considered As A Moral Institution Over the Aesthetical Education of Man Many Poems including “To Joy” The Ghost Seer
