Over the years, these memorable collections were able to encourage my heart in a time of hopelessness. They lifted my spirit and kept me on that road to Damascus. I pray that as you read, they will enlighten your heart and motivate you into another place in life with Christ. For they will never grow old! You will never get enough! And they will always be there for you, at the right time, and in the right place of life. Rev. Jerrilene Keys is a native of San Antonio, Texas and has traveled and lived across country from the East Coast Capitol, Washington, DC, metropolis area to the West Coast of California State Capitol. She is the Founder and Senior Pastor of Kingdom Keys Christian Life Center Church, and the Senior Consultant for Keys to Success Consultant Group, LLC She presently serves and has served abroad, on many community boards in many capacities representing honesty, integrity and trustworthiness. Have you ever made the statement, "I Remember When?" If you have, you will enjoy this as much as I did writing it. One of my favorite quotes is, "Yesterday is history, tomorrow is a mystery, today is a gift of God, which is why we call it the present."

What does a woman like Kate do in a world of no antibiotics, no feminism, no Diet Coke? She denies it as long as possible, then sets her mind to getting home. Tricky with her now useless twenty-first century skills. Things don't go well. Kate is captured by a band of mercenary soldiers and becomes an unwitting pawn in the violent conflict between the Catholic kings and the Islamic Moors. In her struggle to stay alive and return to the future, Kate must flee exotic harems, filthy dungeons, and treacherous Moorish courts. But when a sword-brandishing woman with an astonishing secret sweeps into Kate's life, Kate is suddenly torn between two women, and between two centuries. The Spanish Pearl is an epic adventure spiced with humor, lust, and danger—a story with surprising twists that will capture your imagination just as Kate's dilemma captures your heart.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Lenny Puddock writes of his experiences as a Chicago Cub during the 2011 baseball season. Puddock is a 32-year-old physical therapist for the Indianapolis National Institute of Fitness and Health who attended Randy Hundleys Fantasy Camp. Part of the Fantasy Camp experience is his developing friendship with Gertrude Castellano, a waitress who becomes a singing star. They romance at a distance. Puddock is invited to the Cubs Spring Training after an outstanding performance at the Camp. The Cubs offer him a contract with the Daytona Class A team and he accepts. Puddock is moved up to Class AA Tennessee in mid-May and is called up to the Cubs in mid-July. He was batting .378. In mid-August Mike Quade resigns as manager. Ryne Sandberg, who had an escape clause in his contract with a Phillies Minor League team, becomes the Cubs manager. When Puddock joined the parent club, the Cubs were 10 games out of first place. By the end of August they are four from the Wild Card spot. In the waning days of August the roster was two short due to injuries. Sandberg did not want to disrupt the Iowa or Tennessee playoff-bound teams, so he activated Greg Maddux and himself, thinking the roster had to contain the maximum 25 players. Plans were to activate two players before the August 31 midnight deadline but due to an interns goof not recognizing the difference in Eastern Standard Time and Central Standard Time, the move came too late. In essence the Cubs would have only a 23-player Post-Season roster. The Cubs win their Division and League playoffs and enter World Series for the first time in 76 years. In an amazing ninth inning of the seventh game, the Cubs win the Series.

Andrina Abrahamse writes a riveting, personal account of her experiences growing up and working during this pivotal period.Drina, as she was known to her family and friends, suffered atrocities beyond comprehension as a child. Beatings were the norm and she sustained her sanity by telling herself, ?If I can learn something every time I cry, the tears will not have been in vain.? Her formative years were filled with memories of a system that turned peace-loving men into bitter and hopeless people; youth into soldiers; and ignored a silent, deadly epidemic (AIDS) that ravaged thousands of bodies and created orphans and desolate street children. As an abused child, her sensitivity to the children?s plights was intensified.Becoming a nurse, Drina`s profession eventually led her to the United States, where she and her family found themselves evacuees from Hurricane Rita. Looking into the eyes of the victims who already were suffering because of the aftermath of Hurricane Rita?s predecessor, Hurricane Katrina, brought back with startling and painful revelation another time, place, and people who continue to suffer on a scale so enormous, it seems insurmountable. Her story embraces the time period of Apartheid ? from 1958 to 1994 ? and gives voice to the children who continue to suffer. Its purpose is to educate, heal, and inspire, and it does so, with poignant and beautiful clarity.

A cannon. A strap. A piece. A biscuit. A burner. A heater. A chopper. A gat. A hammer A tool for RULE Or, you can call it a gun. That’s what fifteen-year-old Will has shoved in the back waistband of his jeans. See, his brother Shawn was just murdered. And Will knows the rules. No crying. No snitching. Revenge. That’s where Will’s now heading, with that gun shoved in the back waistband of his jeans, the gun that was his brother’s gun. He gets on the elevator, seventh floor, stoked. He knows who he’s after. Or does he? As the elevator stops on the sixth floor, on comes Buck. Buck, Will finds out, is who gave Shawn the gun before Will took the gun. Buck tells Will to check that the gun is even loaded. And that’s when Will sees that one bullet is missing. And the only one who could have fired Shawn’s gun was Shawn. Huh. Will didn’t know that Shawn had ever actually USED his gun. Bigger huh. BUCK IS DEAD. But Buck’s in the elevator? Just as Will’s trying to think this through, the door to the next floor opens. A teenage girl gets on, waves away the smoke from Dead Buck’s cigarette. Will doesn’t know her, but she knew him. Knew. When they were eight. And stray bullets had cut through the playground, and Will had tried to cover her, but she was hit anyway, and so what she wants to know, on that fifth floor elevator stop, is, what if Will, Will with the gun shoved in the back waistband of his jeans, MISSES. And so it goes, the whole long way down, as the elevator stops on each floor, and at each stop someone connected to his brother gets on to give Will a piece to a bigger story than the one he thinks he knows. A story that might never know an END…if Will gets off that elevator. Told in short, fierce staccato narrative verse, Long Way Down is a fast and furious, dazzlingly brilliant look at teenage gun violence, as could only be told by Jason Reynolds.

Book excerpt: A page-turning novel that is also an exploration of the great philosophical concepts of Western thought, Jostein Gaarder's Sophie's World has fired the imagination of readers all over the world, with more than twenty million copies in print. One day fourteen-year-old Sophie Amundsen comes home from school to find in her mailbox two notes, with one question on each: "Who are you?" and "Where does the world come from?" From that irresistible beginning, Sophie becomes obsessed with questions that take her far beyond what she knows of her Norwegian village. Through those letters, she enrolls in a kind of correspondence course, covering Socrates to Sartre, with a mysterious philosopher, while receiving letters addressed to another girl. Who is Hilde? And why does her mail keep turning up? To unravel this riddle, Sophie must use the philosophy she is learning—but the truth turns out to be far more complicated than she could have imagined.
