Read Checkmate: a poetry book written to shed light on the shadow of humankind and bring to the forefront what hides in the dark. Although it is clear as day that our world is being destroyed by the greed of man, a solution to this predicament we have not. This is because the answer to this intricate puzzle lies in a place where most don't look: hidden in plain sight it is being ridiculed and labelled a 'conspiracy theory'. Yes we humans are indeed very much controlled and trained to turn a blind eye to all of the lies of our current Era. We keep voting new puppets onto the world stage while we root for our illusion of choice, as our limited choices are narrowed down to bad or worse. Well this ends here. This unfair live chess game that is being played on our human race will finally be brought to justice.

Book Synopsis 11 words 9 lines by : Anthological Poets
Download or read book 11 words 9 lines written by Anthological Poets and published by Inner Child Press. This book was released on 2012-10-25 with total page 138 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: ForewordIt has been said that words are sacred...that everything in our existence is created by words. "In the beginning...was the Word". Words are one of our few renewable constants. Words carry energy, words can move emotions, and words bring light. This adventure in words was originally inspired by a project dedicated to the memory of those who were affected by the events surrounding the 9/11 tragedy in New York City, and evolved into the book that you are now holding in your hands. For the 11 Words...9 Lines anthology, the challenge was to use our most powerful words to write poems consisting of only 9 lines and 11 words, in any pattern. There were no limits placed on the topics that poets could write about, so they were free to create from their hearts. Everyone was invited to contribute their words for this project, from seasoned poets to those who had never written a poem before. Poets shared their offerings from around the world to make this anthology one of the year's most diverse literary collections. We hope that the impact of each poem will allow you to see into each poet's world, while giving you the chance to see how the use of a few words can paint an entire landscape, tell a whole story, and leave you completely satisfied...so, enjoy!Inner light...chosenbeingsloving...forgiving...changing...shifting...renewing...Chasing darknessWynne Y. Download or read book I Often Wonder written by Alan Jankowski and published by Inner Child Press. This book was released on 2012-08-29 with total page 159 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: PrefaceAll of the short stories and most of the poems included in this volume have been published before, mostly online, though the majority of the stories will have appeared in print in various journals and anthologies by the time you read this. When I first started writing stories, and poems shortly after-wards, back in 2009, the last thing on my mind was getting anything published. It was something I did for fun, and found pleasure in. I was not until late 2010 when I had over a hundred stories and poems that the idea of getting anything published even occurred to me. Although since then, I've been published in various journals and anthologies, this is the first book of my own. I only found out about Inner Child Enterprises after entering their World Peace, World Poetry 2012 contest, but I'm grateful for the discovery, and for the support of Bill and Janet at the organization.Perhaps far more importantly than the pleasure of holding my own book in my hands is the people I've met on this writing journey. The people who have written me expressing how much they've been moved by my words. The people who have sent notes asking if it was alright to send one of my poems to their loved ones, because they could identify so closely with the words. My only hope is that this book finds you equally moved, and let my words be my gift, from me to you.Alan W. JankowskiJune 12, 2012.

Book Synopsis Sex and World Peace by : Valerie M. Hudson
Download or read book Sex and World Peace written by Valerie M. Hudson and published by Columbia University Press. This book was released on 2023-05-30 with total page 205 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Sex and World Peace is a groundbreaking demonstration that the security of women is a vital factor in the occurrence of conflict and war, unsettling a wide range of assumptions in political and security discourse. Harnessing an immense amount of data, it relates microlevel violence against women and macrolevel state peacefulness across global settings. The authors find that the treatment of women informs human interaction at all levels of society. They call attention to the adverse effects on state security of sex-based inequities such as sex ratios favoring males, the practice of polygamy, and lax enforcement of national laws protecting women. Their research challenges conventional definitions of security and democracy and common understandings of the causes of world events. The book considers a range of ways to remedy these injustices, including top-down and bottom-up approaches to redressing violence against women and the lack of sex parity in decision-making. Advocating a state responsibility to protect women, the authors campaign against women’s systemic insecurity, which threatens the security of all. Sex and World Peace has been a go-to book for instructors, advocates, and policy makers since its publication in 2012. Since then, there have been major changes in world affairs, including the #MeToo movement, as well as advances in both theoretical and empirical literature surrounding the subject. This second edition, which adds coauthors Rose McDermott and Donna Lee Bowen alongside Valerie M. Hudson and Mary Caprioli, revises and updates the book for a new generation. The book retains its foundational overview of the relationship between women’s oppression and war, enhanced by fresh data and new material covering recent developments for global women’s rights and analysis of additional examples of gender and conflict throughout the world.

Now that I’ve given you the validation I know you need, let’s get a few things clear . . . I’m not as innocent as you think I am. You don’t realize it because you’re blinded by my sweet good looks, but I am aware of way more than I can convey. I feel more than I can express. I have more going on in my soft, little baby brain than you could possibly imagine. Until now. The book you’re holding finally reveals the complexities and nuances of my life so far.
