Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The vibrational energies of earth harmonically support the electromagnetic force of all living things and the game we play of reality. Holographic and quantum theory affirm that the observer and the observed are one: the body is actually blinking on and off and is sensitive to the entire range of electromagnetic frequencies. While technology in the hands of a secret government, with its overt and covert hold on minds and bodies, is careening down the telescoping aisle of time, it is accompanied by a tremendous acceleration of possible consciousness toward Knowing that the reality that we intend for ourselves is indeed tentatively located in but a few grids within the holographic infinity that Matters, the All-That-Is: by our pranic energy there manifest we yet create our own reality. This book is a piece of the ever-growing network of dissent urgently seeking a window denied by all media to a consciousness of compassion for All-That-Is. Global agony comes to dominate a book about earth and human energies.

Book excerpt: Roman Klonek, born in Kattowitz?/?Poland, has a spot for old fashioned cartoons and modern block printing styles. In the 90s he studied Graphic Arts in Dusseldorf and discovered a passion for woodcut. With this book the Dusseldorf-based artist gives a detailed insight into the working process and the background of his woodcut prints.00The woodcut technique is particularly interesting, as it is primarily known as a ?very old? medium and therefore often creates a surprise effect, especially with contemporary motifs. Feel invited to follow the pages about a variety of whimsical characters, often half animal / half human in preferably curious surroundings and embarrassing situations.00A bizarre balancing act between propaganda, folklore and pop!

Book excerpt: Mnemes Place is Ralph Jonas internal refuge from his anxieties and the pressures of everyday life, a timeless place where he relives his memories and drinks with friends and colleagues, with authors and their characters, with scientists, criminals, psychologists, sociologists, ballet dancers, musicians, artists, and on and on, multitudes of people he has known, or not known, but read and read about. Jonas two big passions are the English language, as spoken by the Irish, and baseball. He is at his most comfortable with the tens of thousands of ballplayers at Mnemes, and often spends time assembling two All-Star teams, one Jewish and one Polish, himself the manager of both. Having fled Hollywood for Europe to regain his sanity after years of writing for TV, Jonas attempts to write a novel about his former writing partners, his own dysfunctional familymother, father, sisterand the Isaacsons, his mothers family, the likes of whom have never been written in American immigrant literature. While it proves impossible for Jonas to put these people down on paper, Wolfe has created a fascinating and unforgettable lineup of characters.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Maps are magical. Every graphic, like every story, has a point of view, and New York is rife with mapmaking possibilities, thick with mythology, and glutted with history. You Are Here: NYC assembles some two hundred maps charting every inch and facet of the five boroughs, depicting New Yorks of past and present, and a city that never was. "A Nightclub Map of Harlem" traces a boozy night from the Radium and the Cotton Club to the Savoy and then the Lafayette; "Wonders of New York" pinpoints three hundred sites of interest, including the alleged location of Captain Kidd's buried treasure; the Ghostbusters subway map plots the route from Astral Projections Place to Stay Puft Street; and a rejected proposal of ornate topiaries illustrates a Central Park that might have been. This sequel to the best-selling You Are Here includes original essays by Bob Mankoff, Maria Popova, Sarah Boxer, and Rebecca Cooper, among others.

Download or read book History of Cartography written by Leo Bagrow and published by Routledge. This book was released on 2017-07-12 with total page 495 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This illustrated work is intended to acquaint readers with the early maps produced in both Europe and the rest of the world, and to tell us something of their development, their makers and printers, their varieties and characteristics. The authors' chief concern is with the appearance of maps: they exclude any examination of their content, or of scientific methods of mapmaking. This book ends in the second half of the eighteenth century, when craftsmanship was superseded by specialized science and the machine. As a history of the evolution of the early map, it is a stunning work of art and science. This expanded second edition of Bagrow and Skelton's History of Cartography marks the reappearance of this seminal work after a hiatus of nearly a half century. As a reprint project undertaken many years after the book last appeared, finding suitable materials to work from proved to be no easy task. Because of the wealth of monochrome and color plates, the book could only be properly reproduced using the original materials. Ultimately the authors were able to obtain materials from the original printer Scotchprints or contact films made directly from original plates, thus allowing the work to preserve the beauty and clarity of the illustrations. Old maps, collated with other materials, help us to elucidate the course of human history. It was not until the eighteenth century, however, that maps were gradually stripped of their artistic decoration and transformed into plain, specialist sources of information based upon measurement. Maps are objects of historical, artistic, and cultural significance, and thus collecting them seems to need no justification, simply enjoyment.

Bestselling and Goodreads Choice Award winning poet Trista Mateer takes a magical approach to self-care with her new collection, Aphrodite Made Me Do It. In this empowering and feminist retelling, Mateer transforms the mythology of the goddess into 224 pages of modern poetry and full-color artwork. Broken into sections alternating between the perspective of The Poet and Aphrodite herself, the work within tackles the timeless topic of love--romantic, platonic, and self-love. The collection addresses issues like heartbreak, sexuality, womanhood, trauma, and the restorative power in taking control of your own lore, speaking your truths, and rewriting your origin story. If you let her, by the end of this book, Aphrodite will make you believe in the possibility of your own healing. "If you were only made to be beautiful, we wouldn't have put you down here in the dirt."Perfect for fans of Amanda Lovelace, Nikita Gill, Rupi Kaur, Elizabeth Acevedo, Rick Riordan, and Madeline Miller; or anyone interested in Greek myths, tarot, and Instagram poetry. This is the first book in the Myth & Magick series, which also includes Artemis Made Me Do It and Persephone Made Me Do It.
