In this Catalogue we aim to describe only such rigs as are adapted to creamery and dairy work. Our engines are built from entire new patterns, with the latest improvements. Special attention has been paid to make all parts plain, simple, strong and durable; all the wearing surfaces are unusually large. The Material throughout is the best, and they are well made with the latest improved machinery, thereby securing accuracy and durability. The Frames are strong and well shaped. All the Cylinders have Hot Air Jackets, which decrease the condensation in the cylinders. The arrangement of the Steam Chest and Steam Ports is such that all the water forming in the cylinders is readily carried off, the Ports extending below the bottom of cylinders; and the heaters being still lower, a perfect drainage is secured. The Pumps are large and simple, firmly secured to cylinders and unable to get out of alignment; they are provided with large Air Chambers and Brass Valves and Seats, which can be readily taken out and replaced while the engine is working at full speed. The Center Cranks are large and made of solid forgings, and are not liable to break. The Pistons are fitted with self-adjusting steam packing rings, and do not require any attention, nor do they cut the cylinders; they are a great improvement over any other kind of packing. The Connecting Rods are of the most substantial character - of wrought iron, with straps, bolts and keys to take up the wear of the brass boxes. The Governors regulate the speed of the engines perfectly; they are provided with "speeders" to change the speed of the engines while in motion, and also with a hand lever attachment to the valve, which is convenient for controlling the speed of the engines when a uniform speed is not wanted, as when sawing, for instance. The General Design of our engines is neat and compact. The boilers are all made from the Very Best 60,000 lb. tensile strength Steel, and are thoroughly tested before leaving the shop. The specifications are, as you will note, very liberal. We carry the largest stock of these goods of any Dairy Supply House in this country, and our facilities for handling them are of the best.
