Download or read book Wheels Stop written by Rick Houston and published by U of Nebraska Press. This book was released on 2020-04-01 with total page 599 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Humanity's first reusable spacecraft and the most complex machine ever built, NASA's Space Shuttle debuted with great promise and as a dependable source of wonder and national pride. But with the Challenger catastrophe in 1986, the whole Space Shuttle program came into question, as did NASA itself, so long an institution that was seemingly above reproach. Wheels Stop tells the stirring story of how, after the Challenger disaster, the Space Shuttle not only recovered but went on to perform its greatest missions. From the Return to Flight mission of STS-26 in 1988 to the last shuttle mission ever on STS-135 in 2011, Wheels Stop takes readers behind the scenes as the shuttle's crews begin to mend Cold War tensions with the former Soviet Union, conduct vital research, deploy satellites, repair the Hubble Space Telescope, and assist in constructing the International Space Station. It also tells the heart-wrenching story of the Columbia tragedy and the loss of the magnificent STS-107 crew. As complex as the shuttle was, the people it carried into orbit were often more so--and this is their story, too. Close encounters with astronauts, flight controllers, and shuttle workers capture the human side of the Space Shuttle's amazing journey--and invite readers along for the ride. Book Synopsis Do Angels Smooch by : Professor Edward Kapambwe
Download or read book Do Angels Smooch written by Professor Edward Kapambwe and published by AuthorHouse. This book was released on 2021-06-01 with total page 168 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Do Angels Smooch? Do angels smooch? If not, why so much obsession in lyrics, movies and books about angels and kissing? Are there any more surprises that Edward Kapambwe unveils in his book? Well, there is more. For example, Kapambwe takes us into an in-depth angelic journey in order to understand the extent of angelic involvement in human affairs than ever before. He brings out novel elements that have never been unveiled previously. For example, he recounts how angels visit our stores. They buy the stuff they need before meeting people. Haven’t you noticed that no angel has ever appeared nude or with wings in real life. They come already dressed just like us; and that is why we have been unable to identify them. We are surrounded by angels both good and evil. Evil angels no longer transform themselves into humans. Only good angels still do. Since there are no shops in heaven, where do they get the stuff they wear? Besides that, what happens to these apparels after being used? The author asserts that angels donate them to Thrift Stores such as, Goodwill, the Salvation Army and others. Donating to Thrift Stores is an ingenious way to make them accessible to both the rich and the poor. Have you wondered why they do that? It is a deliberate move they take so that ordinary people could buy things worn by angels. That begs another question, why do they do that? The answer is amazing. They do that on purpose because they know that to wear stuff worn by holy angels comes with tremendous blessings. This book explains that point persuasively. In addition, the author contends that these angels are highly disciplined entities such that they never steal anything from banks, stores or homes of rich people even though they able to do so without being seen. Angels are invisible (spirits) entities. However, they have the ability to transform themselves into regular human beings. The author throws in another insight. He argues and states that helping strangers gives a person the best chance to be visited by an angel. The author then explains to us the probabilities of being smooched by an angel. Do angels smooch? That question points us in the direction of social theology than philosophy. It is not a new question but the framing might be. Many theologians have debated extensively the narrative found in Genesis 6 where angels came on earth and married daughters of men. With his masterful insight and knowledge of theology and philosophy, the author gives a different angle of the workings of angels among us. It’s not a book to miss. If there is one book you need to read in your lifetime, Do Angels Smooch should be on top of your list.
Book Synopsis Learning Wheels by : David C. Mims Sr.
Download or read book Learning Wheels written by David C. Mims Sr. and published by Xlibris Corporation. This book was released on 2013-07-25 with total page 141 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The principles portrayed in "Learning Wheels" are not new. The ideas and concepts are not breakthrough thinking, as most of us have seen these practices applied at some level throughout our experience. Reading this book serves only to create a clearer vision of an approach and create a new attitude regarding diversity of experience, education and opinion. The next logical step is to foster these attitudes within your organization as a new behavioral norm. This can be achieved through specific seminars and change management initiatives designed to introduce and sell "Learning Wheels" concepts to any learning organization. If your meetings are not gaining effective agreement. If your team is having problems defining the correct problem before solutions. If the diversity in your group is acting as a barrier to progress rather than functioning as an asset; then consider using "Learning Wheels" as a tool to refocus your team.

Download or read book Spinning Wheels written by Frank Buxton and published by Lulu.com. This book was released on 2012-08-23 with total page 692 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This story opens in the early nineteen sixties, at a fictional isolated Catholic Convent in North Wales. Devout Christians, and Catholics in particular, will find this book to be a very challenging read. At appropriate points, the debilitating effect of loneliness is sympathetically portrayed, and an argument against committing suicide is also presented. As the story gently unfolds, the foundations, arrogant tribal marking and the power, of all organised religions, are considered. Calmly and peacefully then, 'love Thy neighbour as Thyself' is happily acknowledged as the only sensible way of ensuring the survival of the Human Race. Weaving around this main theme are several honest, decent, if rather robust, love stories. These quickly lead to discussion and consideration of further ideas; about life and death, good and evil, order and chaos. Kirkus reviews: - An engaging tale. The story is strong and the erotica is nicely balanced by the humanity of the characters.
