In a potpourri of poetry, she shares diverse reflections about life, beauty, meaning, joy, sorrow, friendships, family, and special moments that all offer the same message: to never give up. Dowdells light-hearted poems begin by exploring her childhood when she refused to keep her white high-top shoes on, loved surprises in cereal boxes, and devoured delicious treats from local bakeries. As she moves into poems that explore the role of fate, misty moments, wakeful dreaming, and love, Dowdell shines a light on all that life has to offer while encouraging others live in the moment, observe the beauty around them, and build memories that last a lifetime. Life . . . Yesterday, Today, and Tomorrow shares a compilation of poems that reflect on one womans unique journey through life as she learns to embrace the miracle of her existence and never give up.

In A Happy Pocket Full of Money, Gikandi explains that true wealth is not about having buckets of cash, but rather understanding the value within. True wealth flows out of developing "wealth consciousness," that incorporates gratitude, a belief in abundance, and an ability to experience joy in life. He explores how recent discoveries in theoretical physics are relevant for the creation of personal wealth and shows readers how to create abundance by saving, giving, offering charity, and building happy relationships. A Happy Pocket Full of Money features: --How to use an internal mantra to build wealth consciousness. --How to be conscious and deliberate about your thoughts and intentions. --How to decide, define, and set goals you can believe in. --How to act on your beliefs and overcome challenges. --How to incorporate gratitude, giving, and faith to experience abundance and joy in life. This inspirational book will change how you view and create money, wealth, and happiness in your life.

Book excerpt: Summary of Nature Echo Series Book 1 and Book 2 I belong to the Wilderness Society, the Sierra Club, and other organized groups whose goals are to seek to preserve the wilderness and wild animals. I naturally thought about preservation of life and survival when I wrote the poems in Nature Echo Book 1. In Nature Echo Book 2, I took actual happenings in my own life; again, the themes were about preservation of life with its challenges. Challengesto grow in knowledge, to face the death of my husband the death of a child, etc.became uppermost in my daily life. Even the disruption of a forest for a housing development stimulated my interest in the preservation of wetlands. It is hoped that these poems will create an interest in these issues. It was during this time that Thelma enrolled at the local university, earning a BS degree. When she retired, she and her husband bought a farm, raised sheep, and grew Christmas trees. Deciding to continue her studies, she earned a masters degree in liberal arts at the age of sixty-six. She had two studies abroad in economics and art history. Continuing her interest in writing, she parlayed a college senior project into a book about Appalachian culture called Transformation of the Back Country, which was published in 2001. She also continued writing poetry. Her poetry has been published in seven poetry anthologies, earning an Editors Choice Award and several runner-up mentions. She benefited from her interest in animals for her first book of poetry of the Nature Echo series and her observation of the nature of man for the second Nature Echo book.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: We are all immortal Beingsdeath is an illusion! This world and who we think ourselves to be is only a temporary dream. But our existence within the darkness and ignorance of this lower self-consciousness is of tremendous importance. It is here that we Homo sapiens have the opportunity to transcend our present mind dominated human-animal consciousness. This is the fundamental message that is received during the life-altering occurrence of Self-Realization. We begin the spiritual journey of transformation in order to obtain liberation from the lower self-consciousness by evolving into the Higher Self-consciousness, which is the next stage in mankinds evolution. The effect of transcending the old consciousness poses many problems due to powerful and dangerous alterations to our psyche and biological system. The transforming power of kundalini can burn out the nervous system and unbalance the personality, from which it may never recover. What role does kundalini and Grace play in our Awakening? How do we transcend our animal traits? Can we use sex in order to go beyond sex? How do we adapt to living simultaneously in the two opposing worlds of duality and Oneness? What is consciousness? What and who is the new race that is going to replace the old man? Does time exist? What is the connection we have with our Soul? Does God exist? Who is really in charge?
