But his efforts to do good were wholly unavailing. His failure resulted from the same causes which operated so much to the disadvantage of John, at Savannah. The population with which. Charles had to deal, at Frederica, were, if pos sible, a harder set of customers than the parish ioners of John, at Savannah.'
