This book was released on with total page 470 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The prophet Brigham Young taught the restored gospel of Jesus Christ in a basic, practical way that gave inspiration and hope to the Saints struggling to build a home in the wilderness. Though more than a century has now passed, his words are still fresh and appropriate for us today as we continue the work of building the kingdom of God. President Young declared that as members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints we possess the “doctrine of life and salvation for all the honest-in-heart” (DBY, 7). He promised that those who receive the gospel in their hearts will have awakened “within them a desire to know and understand the things of God more than they ever did before in their lives” and will begin to “inquire, read and search and when they go to their Father in the name of Jesus he will not leave them without a witness” (DBY, 450). This book reflects the desire of the First Presidency and the Quorum of the Twelve Apostles to deepen the doctrinal understanding of Church members and to awaken within them a greater desire to know the things of God. It will inspire and motivate individuals, priesthood quorums, and Relief Society classes to inquire, read, search, and then go to their Father in Heaven for a witness of the truth of these teachings. Each chapter contains two sections—“Teachings of Brigham Young” and “Suggestions for Study.” The first section consists of extracts from Brigham Young’s sermons to the early Saints. Each statement has been referenced, and the original spelling and punctuation have been preserved; however, the sources cited will not be readily available to most members. These original sources are not necessary to have in order to effectively study or teach from this book. Members need not purchase additional references and commentaries to study or teach these chapters. The text provided in this book, accompanied by the scriptures, is sufficient for instruction. Members should prayerfully read and study President Young’s teachings in order to gain new insights into gospel principles and discover how those principles apply to their everyday lives. By faithfully and prayerfully studying these selections, Latter-day Saints will have a greater understanding of gospel principles and will more fully appreciate the profound and inspired teachings of this great prophet. The second section of each chapter offers a series of questions that will encourage thoughtful contemplation, personal application, and discussion of President Young’s teachings. Members should refer to and carefully reread his words on the principle being discussed. Deep and prayerful study of these teachings will inspire members to greater personal commitment and will help them resolve to follow the teachings of the Savior, Jesus Christ. If individuals and families prayerfully follow the principles in this book, they will be blessed and inspired to greater dedication and spirituality, as were the early Saints who heard these words directly from the lips of the “Lion of the Lord” (HC, 7:434)—the prophet, seer, and revelator, President Brigham Young.

Book excerpt: For many people, remaining optimistic and feeling positive about themselves and their lives is a constant battle—especially when circumstances are difficult and life is hard. For others, negativity is something that only sneaks up from time to time, yet still wreaks havoc in their hearts. Regardless of the root causes, once pessimistic thoughts permeate our minds, our feelings and emotions begin to control us instead of us controlling them. Eventually it doesn’t seem possible to stay positive, happy, and full of joy, and negative thought patterns shake our faith, causing us to sink emotionally, mentally, and spiritually over time. But it doesn’t have to be that way. Despite what storms roll in, hearts anchored in God don’t sink. When we change the way we think, we can change the way we feel and live, even if our circumstances remain the same. Intentionally embracing the opportunity to experience a transformed heart and a renewed mind opens the door for a changed life, because a positive mind will always lead to a more positive life. In Unsinkable Faith, author and Proverbs 31 Ministries speaker Tracie Miles offers hope for women who struggle with negativity. Each chapter explores Tracie’s and other women’s personal stories, showing how they rose above their circumstances by transforming and renewing their minds. Unsinkable Faith is a breath of fresh air for anyone longing for a heart full of joy, an unbreakable smile, and a new, more optimistic perspective on life. This book will equip you to: Replace pessimism with positive thinking by becoming the captain of your thoughts; Learn how true joy and happiness are based on choice, not circumstances; Overcome unhealthy habits of negative thinking by intentionally implementing three easy mind-renewing steps; Stop feeling hopeless and pitiful, and start feeling hope-filled and powerful instead; and Discover that when you change the way you think, you change the way feel, and in turn you can change your life completely.

Book excerpt: After accepting Jesus Christ, as my personal Savior and Lord, one of my main concerns was the Spiritual growth and development of mankind, whether he or she is saved or not. The Apostle Paul by the Holy Spirit has classified all mankind into three groups or categories, (1 Corinthians 2: 9 - 3: 4): (1) The," Natural Man," the one who lives a worldly life, a sinner, and has not accepted Jesus Christ as their Savior and Lord; (2) The, "Carnal Man," one who has accepted Christ, but is still living and doing worldly things; (3) The, "Spiritual Man," one who is saved and is truly dedicated in pleasing and serving God. As I previously stated, I was concerned about the aspects and condition of the spiritual growth and development of mankind. After reading about what the apostle Paul had written in 1 Corinthians 2: 9 - 3: 4, it made me become more aware of these conditions, and what I could do to assess the situation. Immediately, I began to focus back on my life. How God had transformed me from a "natural man," (worldly/sinner) man to a "spiritual man." Within this process, I realized that God had allowed me to come through so many trials and tribulations, for my good. God, through His grace had performed many miracles in my life, which have contributed to my spiritual growth and development. I give thanks to God for His blessings and miracles. I decided to praising and glorify Him by witnessing to people for a testimony on how He brought me as a sinner to become a Christians (spiritual man). During all of this time, I did not know that God was cleansing, conditioning, and preparing me, for Him to commission me to do His will. One evening while lying in bed, staring up at the ceiling of mybedroom, God spoke to me, and told me to write a book about, "testimonies of His divine blessings." A funny feeling came over me, and I said to my self, why hadn't I thought about this before now. Then I realized it wasn't for me to think of own my own, but it was God's will and not mine. This commission was of His will and to glorify Him only. Later God inspired me to realize that there are many people today that really do not believe that He is still blessing people and performing miracles in their lives, as He did in the Bible days. But if those people can witness God's blessings and miracles, it could possibly change their views about Jesus Christ, and inspire them to repent of their sins, and become saved. After I began thinking about all the miracles and blessing that God allowed me to witness; I realized He was preparing me for the purpose of writing His book. With much prayer for God's guidance, I began witnessing to others by sharing what God commissioned me to do, and the importance of sharing their testimonies for this project. In sharing their testimonies, some was hesitant to respond, and there were many eager to honor and glorify God in sharing their testimonies. My testimonies and other testimonies could help convict the belief of the "natural man," revive the beliefs of the "carnal man" and inspire the "Spiritual man." There are many people today that just do not realized that there is another way, a way provided through Jesus' suffering, His death, His Word, and His resurrection; that will allow mankind to live a life that is pleasing in God's site, and His divine will. This way is through his Son Jesus Christ, by the way of repentance. By repenting and accepting JesusChrist as your Lord and Savior, mankind will have an everlasting life (John 3: 16). By accepting Christ as your Lord and Savior, you will become empowered with the Holy Spirit; which will assure you the opportunity of salvation; His presence, His love, His grace, will be there when you need Him, if you believe. Our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ can restore and change broken hearts, and fragile lives of those that are willing to risk and totally submit their lives unto His will; within His own timing.

Not knowing what the Lord had in store for him but having a gut feeling within that something was about to happen, Briant felt that his life was going to take a turn for the worse, and it terrified him to no end. He would later come to realize that in order for transformation to take place in his life, he would have to go through some trials. He didn't want to change. He thought he was fine. Briant had to hit rock bottom and go through some real hard times and come to realize that it was the Lord who allowed all that he was going through. He was stripped down by God and lost everything, and God then had Briant's undivided attention. For when he committed his life to the Lord after being spiritually broken with no one to turn to, he was forever changed from the inside out. His testimony will inspire you to keep on moving forward in the midst of whatever you're faced with, for the Lord truly has a plan for all our lives. This is a true story of love, pain, suffering, loss, joy, and the awesome power of God showing up in the midst of everything that Briant faces. You will be inspired as you read, laugh, and shed some tears along the way. Briant was genuinely inspired by God Almighty to write this firsthand account happening in his life to tell what God did for him and how he brought him through it all. You are about to go on a journey. You will be deeply inspired to never give up and to keep the faith and know that the Lord is watching over his Word for your life to perform it. And know the Lord is going to do just that.

Book excerpt: A New York Times bestseller people can believe in—by "a pioneer of the new urban Christians" (Christianity Today) and the "C.S. Lewis for the 21st century" (Newsweek). Timothy Keller, the founding pastor of Redeemer Presbyterian Church in New York City, addresses the frequent doubts that skeptics, and even ardent believers, have about religion. Using literature, philosophy, real-life conversations, and potent reasoning, Keller explains how the belief in a Christian God is, in fact, a sound and rational one. To true believers he offers a solid platform on which to stand their ground against the backlash to religion created by the Age of Skepticism. And to skeptics, atheists, and agnostics, he provides a challenging argument for pursuing the reason for God.

Book excerpt: A compassionate, shame-free guide for your darkest days “A one-of-a-kind book . . . to read for yourself or give to a struggling friend or loved one without the fear that depression and suicidal thoughts will be minimized, medicalized or over-spiritualized.”—Kay Warren, cofounder of Saddleback Church What happens when loving Jesus doesn’t cure you of depression, anxiety, or suicidal thoughts? You might be crushed by shame over your mental illness, only to be told by well-meaning Christians to “choose joy” and “pray more.” So you beg God to take away the pain, but nothing eases the ache inside. As darkness lingers and color drains from your world, you’re left wondering if God has abandoned you. You just want a way out. But there’s hope. In I Love Jesus, But I Want to Die, Sarah J. Robinson offers a healthy, practical, and shame-free guide for Christians struggling with mental illness. With unflinching honesty, Sarah shares her story of battling depression and fighting to stay alive despite toxic theology that made her afraid to seek help outside the church. Pairing her own story with scriptural insights, mental health research, and simple practices, Sarah helps you reconnect with the God who is present in our deepest anguish and discover that you are worth everything it takes to get better. Beautifully written and full of hard-won wisdom, I Love Jesus, But I Want to Die offers a path toward a rich, hope-filled life in Christ, even when healing doesn’t look like what you expect.
