Book Synopsis Les utopies de la ville by : Yvette Marin
Download or read book Les utopies de la ville written by Yvette Marin and published by Presses Univ. Franche-Comté. This book was released on 2001 with total page 484 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle.

This book was released on 2013-03-08 with total page 352 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This third volume in Advances in Environment, Behavior, and Design fol lows the conceptual framework adopted in the previous two volumes (see the Preface to Volume 1, 1987). It is organized into five sections advances in theory, advances in place, user group, and sociobehavioral research, and advances in research utilization. The authors of this volume represent a wide spectrum of the multi disciplinary environment-behavior and design field including architec ture, environmental psychology, facility management, geography, human factors, sociology, and urban design. The volume offers interna tional perspectives from North America (Carole Despres from Canada, several authors from the U.S.), Europe (Martin Krampen from Germany, Martin Symes from England), and New Zealand (David Kernohan). More so than any of the previous volumes, they are drawn from both academia and professional practice. While there continues to be a continuity in format in the series, we are actively exploring new directions that are on the cutting edges of the field and bode well for a more integrated future. This volume will fur ther develop the themes of design and professional practice to comple ment the earlier emphases on theory, research, and methods.

Book Synopsis Les nouveaux urbains dans l'espace Sahara-Sahel by : Elisabeth Boesen
Download or read book Les nouveaux urbains dans l'espace Sahara-Sahel written by Elisabeth Boesen and published by KARTHALA Editions. This book was released on 2007 with total page 338 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle.
Book Synopsis Fluid Space and Transformational Learning by : Kyriaki Tsoukala
Download or read book Fluid Space and Transformational Learning written by Kyriaki Tsoukala and published by Taylor & Francis. This book was released on 2017-02-03 with total page 97 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Fluid Space and Transformational Learning presents a critique of the interlocking questions of ‘school architecture’ and education and attempts to establish a field of questioning that aspectualises and intersects concepts, theories and practices connected with the contemporary school building and the deschooling of learning and of the space within and through which it takes place. Tying together the historicity of architectural theory, criticism and practice and the plural dynamic of social fields and sciences, this book outlines the qualities and modalities of experiential fields of transformational learning. The three qualities of space that are highlighted along the way – activated, polyphonic and playful space – as they emerge (without being instrumentalised) through architecturalised spatial modalities – flexibility, variability, interactivity, taut fluid polyphony, multiplicity, transcendence of boundaries – tend to construct and establish a school environment rich in heretical socio-spatial codes. Meshing cooperative, participatory, intrapsychic and interpsychic dimensions, they invite the factors of learning to a creative, imponderable, transformational disorder and deconstruct dominant conditioned reflexes of a disciplinary, methodical and productive order.
