Book excerpt: Pujya Gurudev, Swami Chinmayananda in his inimitable style has taken individuals through the journey of life as perceived today by common man to the depths of our ‘Being’. In the four topics in the book, Swamiji has analysed the role of knowledge as one understands today, role and development of human species, relevance of deeper enquiry into ourselves and how to delve deeper into ‘Being’! Through logical analysis of Darwin’s theory of development and our understanding of human behaviour, Swamiji has guided individuals to question the purpose of their life and the context of their goals. He has given deep insight into each, the relevance of religion and spirituality and how they can help us to reach the goal of human existence. A highly recommended guide book to understand in a nutshell the role and purpose of life and how to achieve it!

This book was released on with total page 473 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Stories of Vedanta Monks presents the reminiscences of the Second-Generation Monks of the Ramakrishna Order. The monastic disciples of Sri Ramakrishna constitute the first generation; their disciples in turn constitute the second. The second-generation monks had not seen Sri Ramakrishna. Nevertheless, they met many of the first-generation monks who had lived with Sri Ramakrishna, Sri Sarada Devi, and Swami Vivekananda. Just as the direct impact of the Holy Trio on the life and character of the first-generation monks is marked and distinct, so is the impact of the first generation of monks on the second. They are repositories of invaluable information about Sri Ramakrishna, his monastic disciples, and the glorious traditions of the Ramakrishna Order. The author, Swami Chetanananda, had close associations with some of these monks and has put on record the information that he gathered from them. In and through the life events of these monks, we find brahmavidya (Knowledge of Brahman) pervading their thoughts, speech, and actions in so many ways. The behavioural standards set by them and sacred traditions followed in the Ramakrishna monasteries also stand revealed. When carefully protected and passed on to the next generation, it is these living traditions and practices that become the conduit for the spiritual force and Divine knowledge that emanated from Sri Ramakrishna to pass on and enrich one and all. Published by Advaita Ashrama, a publication branch of Ramakrishna Math. Belur, this is volume 1 of the reminiscences and is a translation of the Bengali title ‘Prachin Sadhuder Katha – Vol. 1

Book excerpt: “Religions must have evolved as a way of life, doctrines may fade as we move towards spirituality on the road to truth, which is bright as the day light” In this simple compilation I have thought about a few lives, I hope have showed us some light to carry us through in the dark pervasive days of human lives. I believe in merciful God who sends his messengers to take up missions dedicated and delicate as they deal human minds. There are a many more in the shadows working earnestly, never seen or heard much about, only God and they know how valuable their beautiful selfless works prevail. Thoughts came to me in the daunting times of COVID 19; the need looming large in acts of mercy and co-existence. My mind wafted into thin air and took me to people who were the winds of change. It recalled the road we travelled along. Many inspirers, who were a guiding light as lanterns on the lanes were seen as beacons of hope, but will they fade away…. Deviating halfway down the journey, we need to ask: • “Did we travel on the right path?” • “Will we inspire good minds to join us in the journey and embrace the unreached?” • “Will we ever try to live by the laws of nature?” India has been blessed by Gita, the epic, in which Lord Krishna says, “If you walk in the path of Dharma, if you absorb and follow the path of righteousness, then you not only emerge as a true leader but also serve and bring about a stronger nation, stronger universe and a stronger world.” “Where there is neither Greek nor Jew, circumcised nor uncircumcised, barbarian, Scythian, bond nor free: but Christ is all, and in all.” Bible – Colossians, Chapter 3; Verse 11 In the Quran: “The term Advaita translated into Arabic would read ‘Wahdahu-la-Shareek’—the one who has no second...” The time has come for us to rethink and reset our way of lives, embrace life in its fullest potential, hear a Coherent answer, attain a peaceful world, and a meet a merciful God. In this journey we need your loving hearts, your caring hands and merciful deeds. We have seen some great simple men and women do that in these dark days of sufferings. We shall Overcome… and make it a shining little blue marble, our home.

Book excerpt: Excerpt from Vedanta Philosophy: Lecture on the Use of Religion It would be too long a process to attempt to show how this is done, but we are all familiar with the result, we are all able to at once describe a certain object as a tree, even if we never before saw one of that particular kind. We can even follow the idea into the realms of imagination, and picture to our selves such trees as never existed on earth, without the least doubt as to what we mean when we call these creations of our fancy trees. With religion, we have more difficulty, because it is entirely a mental concept, without actual physical shape, so to speak. Still the same thing must be true about it. Before we can call anything a religion we must have in our minds some idea, however vague, of what religion means to us. What, then, is the one idea common to every religion, which must be present to give it a distinctive character as a religion? It is not a belief in God, or soul, or immortality, or Heaven, or Hell, because we find one of the great religions of the world which entirely omits all these ideas. Yet no student of the subject would for an instant hesitate to classify Buddhism as a religion, and a very great one. The one common element in everything called by the name of religion is man's attempt to penetrate beyond the world of the senses. Inherent in the very constitution of man is the necessity to relate himself with that which is above and beyond the limits of the seen world. From the most ignorant savage, whose worship is of the crud est kind, to the most intellectual philosopher, or the most advanced scientist, man is eternally finding himself confronted with an unknown Beyond. Every science, when pushed to its ultimate, reaches what modern philosophy calls the Unknow able. The most subtle reasoning cannot penetrate that dead wall that limits even the keenest intellect. Just here, then, when man has, as Max Miiller so well expresses it, at least once in his life looked beyond the horizon of this world and carried away in his mind an impression of the Infinite just here religion begins for that man. Prof. Daniel G. Brinton, of the University of Pennsylvania, claims that religion takes its rise in the mental sub-consciousness. By this he appears to mean that religious ideas spring from something deeper than conscious reasoning. The expression. Super conscious, made use of by the Vedanta, seems to me a more correct one, and one that more clearly conveys the idea that religion springs from a source beyond the ordinary state of the human mind, from a plane beyond intellect, a plane which has been reached bv many men, and which can be reached by every human being who will make the same effort that they made. Revelation is not the property of any age or race, of any Prophet or Teacher, however great; it is the birthright of humanity, the natural outcome of the inherent Divinity that is the real nature of man. Book excerpt: Our Hindustan or say India is in eclipse we do not know what will happen to it in future if the birth rate of minorities is getting increased 9% to 15% where as Hindu Population has come down from 93% to 85% since Independence. Hence I call the present generation or youth to adapt a policy of enforcement of Uniform Law and order in the wake call our country as Hindustan. Minority people should not be given any weight in field of administration as is done to Hindus in Pakistan or other Muslim countries. Even China has recently banned long beards and veil for Muslim woman ,Madarasas (Muslim Institutions) and conversion. Those (non-Hindus) who want to continue to stay in India/Hindustan should adopt HINDUNESS or else ask them to leave the country and settle in Muslim countries. They should adopt Hindu Nationalism. A new syllabus on Nationalism should be curriculum in Educational System "Too much tolerance and wooing Muslims for the sake of Vote Bank needs ban and for this electioneering system should be amended"

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: ""The reign of quantity" gives a concise but comprehensive view of the present state of affairs in the world, as it appears from the point of view of the 'ancient wisdom', formerly common both to the East and to the West, but now almost entirely lost sight of. The author indicates with his fabled clarity and directness the precise nature of the modern deviation, and devotes special attention to the development of modern philosophy and science, and to the part played by them, with their accompanying notions of progress and evolution, in the formation of the industrial and democratic society which we now regard as 'normal'. Guénon sees history as a descent from Form (or Quality) toward Matter (or Quantity); but after the Reign of Quantity-modern materialism and the 'rise of the masses'-Guénon predicts a reign of 'inverted quality' just before the end of the age: the triumph of the 'counter-initiation', the kingdom of Antichrist. This text is considered the magnum opus among Guénon's texts of civilizational criticism, as is Symbols of Sacred Science among his studies on symbols and cosmology, and Man and His Becoming according to the Vedanta among his more purely metaphysical works." --Descripción del editor.
