Matériel et méthode : Étude qualitative par entretiens semi-dirigés auprès de femmes recrutées dans cinq cabinets de médecine générale autour d'Annecy de mars à juillet 2014. Critères d'inclusion : femmes majeures, ayant déjà eu des rapports sexuels, ayant, au cours de leur sexualité, utilisé un moyen contraceptif hormonal ainsi que connu une période sans consommation d'hormone contraceptive. Les patientes incluables pouvaient participer à l'étude en réalisant un entretien anonyme, semi-dirigé, individuel, enregistré. L'échantillonnage s'est fait en variation maximale et les entretiens ont été réalisés jusqu'à saturation des données. Résultats : L'analyse des résultats a fait émerger six thématiques : la sexualité sous hormones contraceptives était ressentie comme CONTRARIEE, LIBEREE ou INCHANGEE. Le vécu de la sexualité était rempli de DOUTES ET DE COMPROMIS et pouvait être VARIABLE. Les femmes ressentaient le besoin de PARTAGER leur vécu. Conclusion : Certaines modifications de la sexualité sont attribuées à la contraception hormonale par les femmes. Toutefois, quelques une ne ressentent pas d'influence des hormones contraceptives dans leur sexualité mais restent sensibles à ce sujet. Il existe parfois un retentissement important des hormones contraceptives sur le plan physique et psychique. Même en l'absence de données statistiques concordantes, il est donc important que les médecins soient à l'écoute des femmes à ce sujet. La féminisation de la médecine entraînera peut être plus facilement l'abord de cette question auprès des patientes.

Les troubles de la sexualité font partie des effets secondaires connus des contraceptions hormonales. Les données de la littérature concernent essentiellement les contraceptions oestro-progestatives mais peu de données sont disponibles pour les contraceptions progestatives. Objectif : explorer le vécu de la sexualité des femmes ayant utilisé ou utilisant une contraception progestative seule. Matériel et méthodes : étude qualitative menée par entretiens individuels semi-dirigés auprès de femmes majeures, en âge de procréer, utilisatrices actuellement ou antérieurement d'une contraception progestative durant 3 mois minimum. Les entretiens ont été réalisés par deux chercheuses de février 2019 à février 2020. Résultats : onze entretiens ont été réalisés. Le trouble de la sexualité principal sous contraception progestative, retrouvé chez la majorité des femmes, est une diminution de la libido. D'autres effets secondaires sur la sexualité ont été rapportés tels que la diminution de la fréquence et la perte d'initiative dans les rapports sexuels, le fait d'avoir des rapports non satisfaisants et la perte de plaisir au cours de ces derniers. Quelques participantes ont déclaré n'avoir eu aucun trouble de la sexualité sous contraception progestative. Une seule femme de notre échantillon a eu une très bonne tolérance globale. Aucune participante n'a vu sa libido accrue, ni n'a déclaré avoir une sexualité plus libérée ou plus épanouie sous contraception progestative. Certaines participantes ont signalé que ces troubles avaient eu un impact négatif sur leur couple ou bien sur leur sexualité seule. Conclusion : bon nombre de femmes ont recours à une contraception par progestatif seul. Celle-ci peut modifier, de façon importante, leur sexualité. Ces troubles de la sexualité ont pu chez nos participantes modifier leur qualité de vie, le vécu de leur sexualité, seule et en couple, leur relation avec leur partenaire voire provoquer l'arrêt de leur contraception. Les effets secondaires, dont les troubles de la sexualité, doivent être recherchés et pris en charge par les professionnels de santé. Il est nécessaire d'aborder et de réaborder régulièrement, en consultation de médecine générale, la sexualité des patientes ainsi que de leur laisser une porte ouverte pour s'exprimer sur ce sujet.

Accor dingly, until fairly recently it was a medical act with a limited scientific basis which was practised more or less clandestinely. The development of semen preservation has totally changed the conditions of artificial insemination, especially in regard to flexibility and safeguards in its application. Although the use of fresh semen continues, it is now clear that the future of arti ficial insemination is closely linked to semen preservation. During the past two decades, semen banks have been developed in many countries. This has most often been the result of the initiative of individual physicians in either the private or public sectors. In France, a national system of semen banks (CECOS) was begun in 1973. Although there has been cooperation within this system in the areas of both research and management, a need to com municate and compare experiences with those from other countries was perceived. Thus, the first International Symposium on Artifi cial Insemination and Semen Preservation was planned and held in Paris, France in April 1979. Thirty-seven countries were represented byihdividuals from many concerned disciplines.

Book excerpt: Early modern bodies, particularly menstruating and pregnant bodies, were not stable signifiers. Menstruation and Procreation in Early Modern France presents the first full-length discussion of menstruation and its uncertain connections with embodied sex, gender and reproduction in early modern France. Attitudes to menstruation are explored in three inter-linked arenas: medicine, moral theology and law across the sixteenth to the eighteenth centuries. Drawing on a wide range of diverse sources, including court records and private documents, the author uses case studies to explore the relationship between the exceptional corporeality of individuals and attempts to construct menstrual norms, reflecting on how early modern individuals, lay or otherwise, grappled with the enigma of menstruation. She analyzes how early modern men and women accounted for the function, recurrence and appearance of menstruation, from its role in maintaining health to the link between other physiological and bodily processes, including those found in both male and female bodies. She questions the assumption that menstruation was exclusively associated with women by the second half of the eighteenth century, arguing that whilst sex-related, menstruation was not sex-specific even at the turn of the nineteenth. Menstruation remains a contentious topic today. This book is not, therefore, simply a study of periods in early modern France, but is also of necessity an exploration about the nature and constitution of historical evidence, particularly bodily evidence and how historians use this evidence. It raises important questions about the concept of certainty and about the value of observation, testimony, expertise, the nature of language and the construction of bodily truths - about the body as witness and the body as evidence.
