Up to 80 percent of face-to-face communication takes place nonverbally. The meanings of nonverbal signals, and the display rules that govern their expression, differ culturally. Ken Wilber's Integral Approach was used to look at the interrelationship between exterior and interior elements of a communicative event. A conflict negotiation role play was video-taped during a training of international peace workers in Kenya 2006 for the Nonviolent Peaceforce (NP). The study suggests that much nonverbal miscommunication is affective; that nonverbal behaviors can perpetuate conflict; and that much of our nonverbal behavior and interpretation is unconscious. The study also suggests that this lack of awareness may contribute more to discord than cultural differences. Implications for NVC training in NP and in the ESL/EFL classroom are discussed.

These are critical components of the educational process. Teachers can employ a range of verbal and non-verbal strategies to assist pupils in grasping challenging subjects. This study demonstrated the critical nature of non-verbal communication for both teachers and students studying English. The instrument of the study was a questionnaire checklist ranging from strongly agree to strongly disagree. The sample of the study consists of 144 female students and 14 male and female teachers' participants at the English department/college of education for women and the college of education for humanities, University of Tikrit. This paper explores five parts for each sample, the parts of non-verbal communication, which are: facial expressions, eye contact, body movements, pitch of voice, spatial distance According to the findings, nonverbal communication between instructors and students boosted students' awareness of and involvement in the learning process, resulting in better learning outcomes for all parties involved Effective utilization of facial expressions, physical movements, eye contact, voice tone and geographic distance by teachers helped students achieve their learning goals.
