Book Synopsis A New World Order by : Anne-Marie Slaughter
Download or read book A New World Order written by Anne-Marie Slaughter and published by Princeton University Press. This book was released on 2009-02-09 with total page 368 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Global governance is here--but not where most people think. This book presents the far-reaching argument that not only should we have a new world order but that we already do. Anne-Marie Slaughter asks us to completely rethink how we view the political world. It's not a collection of nation states that communicate through presidents, prime ministers, foreign ministers, and the United Nations. Nor is it a clique of NGOs. It is governance through a complex global web of "government networks." Slaughter provides the most compelling and authoritative description to date of a world in which government officials--police investigators, financial regulators, even judges and legislators--exchange information and coordinate activity across national borders to tackle crime, terrorism, and the routine daily grind of international interactions. National and international judges and regulators can also work closely together to enforce international agreements more effectively than ever before. These networks, which can range from a group of constitutional judges exchanging opinions across borders to more established organizations such as the G8 or the International Association of Insurance Supervisors, make things happen--and they frequently make good things happen. But they are underappreciated and, worse, underused to address the challenges facing the world today. The modern political world, then, consists of states whose component parts are fast becoming as important as their central leadership. Slaughter not only describes these networks but also sets forth a blueprint for how they can better the world. Despite questions of democratic accountability, this new world order is not one in which some "world government" enforces global dictates. The governments we already have at home are our best hope for tackling the problems we face abroad, in a networked world order.

Book excerpt: a conviction that has guided its policies ever since. Now international affairs take place on a global basis, and these historical concepts of world order are meeting. Every region participates in questions of high policy in every other, often instantaneously. Yet there is no consensus among the major actors about the rules and limits guiding this process, or its ultimate destination. The result is mounting tension. Grounded in Kissinger's deep study of history and his experience as National Security Advisor and Secretary of State, World Order guides readers through crucial episodes in recent world history. Kissinger offers a unique glimpse into the inner deliberations of the Nixon administration's negotiations with Hanoi over the end of the Vietnam War, as well as Ronald Reagan's tense debates with Soviet Premier Gorbachev in Reykjavík.
Book Synopsis The New World Order Ideology and Africa by : Tatah Mentan
Download or read book The New World Order Ideology and Africa written by Tatah Mentan and published by African Books Collective. This book was released on 2010-10-05 with total page 280 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The New World Order Ideology expressed in the form of neoliberal globalization has been used by numerous politicians, scholars and media men through the ages. It refers to a worldwide conspiracy to effect complete and total control over the planet through money farming. This book examines the case of Africa put directly on the chopping board as client states by this ideology when less hampered by idealistic slogans as human rights, raising living standards and democratization to better the achievement of the agenda of the money farmers whose goal is to establish government by loan operations. The money farmers strategy, as in credit card companies, is to lend as much as the subject target can borrow and still pay fees, charges and interest payments. This means to encourage them to borrow, loan after loan, consolidate all other loans and keep lending up until the crop of foreign exchange seems in jeopardy. The ideal from the Lending Agency viewpoint is to get an African country maxed out on loans to the point that it actually operates all of its government and the nation on LOANS. Once that goal is achieved, you basically have a never ending crop of FOREIGN EXCHANGE from helpless and hopeless African governments and people. Here is Tatah Mentan at his trenchant best!

Book Synopsis Principles for Dealing with the Changing World Order by : Ray Dalio
Download or read book Principles for Dealing with the Changing World Order written by Ray Dalio and published by Simon and Schuster. This book was released on 2021-11-30 with total page 594 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: NEW YORK TIMES BESTSELLER * MORE THAN ONE MILLION COPIES SOLD “A provocative read...There are few tomes that coherently map such broad economic histories as well as Mr. Dalio’s. Perhaps more unusually, Mr. Dalio has managed to identify metrics from that history that can be applied to understand today.” —Andrew Ross Sorkin, The New York Times From legendary investor Ray Dalio, author of the #1 New York Times bestseller Principles, who has spent half a century studying global economies and markets, Principles for Dealing with the Changing World Order examines history’s most turbulent economic and political periods to reveal why the times ahead will likely be radically different from those we’ve experienced in our lifetimes—and to offer practical advice on how to navigate them well. A few years ago, Ray Dalio noticed a confluence of political and economic conditions he hadn’t encountered before. They included huge debts and zero or near-zero interest rates that led to massive printing of money in the world’s three major reserve currencies; big political and social conflicts within countries, especially the US, due to the largest wealth, political, and values disparities in more than 100 years; and the rising of a world power (China) to challenge the existing world power (US) and the existing world order. The last time that this confluence occurred was between 1930 and 1945. This realization sent Dalio on a search for the repeating patterns and cause/effect relationships underlying all major changes in wealth and power over the last 500 years. In this remarkable and timely addition to his Principles series, Dalio brings readers along for his study of the major empires—including the Dutch, the British, and the American—putting into perspective the “Big Cycle” that has driven the successes and failures of all the world’s major countries throughout history. He reveals the timeless and universal forces behind these shifts and uses them to look into the future, offering practical principles for positioning oneself for what’s ahead.
Book Synopsis The New World Order by : Russell Burrill
Download or read book The New World Order written by Russell Burrill and published by . This book was released on 1992 with total page 192 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: People everywhere have been stunned by the swift collapse of communism and the emergence of the United States as the world's sole remaining superpower. The stage has suddenly been set for the arrival of an entirely "New World Order."--But the United States is not the only world power jockying for control of this new world order. - The head of perhaps the world's most powerful church -- a religious leader who played a significant yet almost-unknown role in the communist collapse -- is positioned to play a major role. * The religious right -- while seeking to champion "family values," prayer, and the sanctity of human life -- may in reality be unwittingly taking the first steps down a path that in time could lead to the greatest religious intolerance ever witnessed. * And even in the non-religious world -- dominated by secular humanism -- ancient occultism strides aggressively forward under the New Age banner. None of this is just coincidence. The truth is, all of this and more was predicted centuries ago by two Bible prophets -- Daniel and John the Revelator. The New World Order shows how today's headlines are rapidly fulfilling these ancient prophecies. What you are about to read may be chilling -- or thrilling. It may also be the most important book you've read in years

Book Synopsis The New World Order by : Carlo James
Download or read book The New World Order written by Carlo James and published by Universal-Publishers. This book was released on 1999-08 with total page 123 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The New World Order -- far from being anything "new" -- is an order which has been evolving for more than one hundred years. This thesis begins with the idea for an elite establishment of one late 19th century individual, Cecil Rhodes, and shows how it has developed into the several organizations that make up the Global Regime today. Although the term "New World Order" has been a buzzword since the Bush era, the majority of people around the world remain uncertain of the meaning. This thesis will demonstrate that it is an order with an underlying economic agenda. This is illustrated by examining various reports written by members or the Regime which reveal their goals and intentions, and also by examining detailed studies done on policies they have implemented. Finally, this thesis suggests that the Global Regime is now near its ultimate goal of dominating global economic matters.
Book Synopsis Global Health and the New World Order by : Jean-Paul Gaudilliere
Download or read book Global Health and the New World Order written by Jean-Paul Gaudilliere and published by . This book was released on 2020-11-09 with total page 248 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This book proposes an encompassing view of the transition from international public health to global health, bringing together historians and anthropologists exploring the relationship between knowledge, practices and policies. Historical and anthropological studies of the governance of health outside Europe and North America leave us with two gaps. The first is a temporal gap between the historiography of international public health through the 1970s and the numerous current anthropological studies of global health. The second gap originates in problems of scale. Macro-inquiries of institutions and politics abound, as do micro-investigations of local configurations. The book interrogates these gaps through an engagement between the disciplines, the harnessing of concepts (circulation, scale, transnationalism) that cross both domains, and the selection of four domains of interventions and globalisation: tuberculosis, mental health, medical genetics and traditional (Asian) medicines.
