Book excerpt: We all want to experience an awesome walk with Father God—not one orchestrated by the guidelines of others, but one led by the Holy Spirit. With that in mind, Delores Chavis shares a collection of essays, scriptures, and writing prompts that guide spiritual seekers to invite God into their reading and studies and ultimately develop a deeper relationship with Him. Chavis relies on over seventeen years of ministering others to provide personal ancedotes, lessons learned, and accompanying biblical passages that highlight her own walk with God and encourage others to study God’s word, reflect on their own lives and spiritual journeys, and then experience God in practical ways that exceed expectations. Included in her writings are scriptures to study and prompts that inspire self-reflection about the direction Father God has planned for all of us. In this collection of inspirational writings, a seasoned minister shares precious thoughts about her walk with God that invite spiritual seekers to study scripture while contemplating their own lives and walks. “... Twenty-One Writings from the Heart challenges us to experience God’s presence in everyday life where we work, live, or play.” —Chandra Moyer, Coach, Author, Speaker

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Andrea “Anya” Robinson has finally surrendered to the demands of her family, friends, and fellow authors to publish her first book From My Heart to Yours. Anya is a prolific writer and motivational speaker whose words capture the heart and listening ears of her audiences as she takes us on her road so traveled in her quest to find “self .” Now she is taking it a step further by empowering others with not only the spoken word but the written word in a clear and more visible way. Her words will energize the energy-deficient, motivate the unmotivated, and ignite those whose flames were extinguished from adversities and temporary setbacks in their lives. Anya’s writings will restore faith, hope, and dreams as you turn the pages of From My Heart to Yours. Anya’s life experiences formed the foundation for the vision of a motivational message that was buried deep within her which became a book. When her vision became clear, the concept for her book From My Heart to Yours was conceived, and during the formulating and growing process, it became a healing session for her. As you read each message, you will feel a sense of newness, peeling away layers as you become renewed. You may even discover that you have experienced the same feelings in your life, but there were no words to describe it. This book speaks to people whose life has been turned upside down or at a place you never thought you would be, the “crossroad of life” waiting for the signal to move on. Each of the writings have been residing deep within her Spirit as she shares them with us, she emerges as a light in dark places. Her book is an expression of a woman who has waited a lifetime to unveil the gifts that God has so graciously deposited in her. Congratulations and thanks for sharing!—Pastor MacArthur O. Littles, Author of Jesus is Da Balm.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: I would like to dedicate this book to the Late-Hazel Bell Wheeler Page who encouraged and started this writing process for me. It started over 30 years ago when I went to visit my Grandmother on a regular basis and to find so many children books in one particular room. I was fascinated and intrigued of the nursery rhymes and the pictures in the book. I was always in a corner with a book in my hand and the rest of the world was tuned out for hours. This led to me entering school spelling bee contests, doing crossword puzzles with my Uncle Harold and I started putting my thoughts on paper. Reading and writing was another form of expression for me to describe what I was feeling and going through in different phases of my life which led to this book. This book of poems is a translation of my life or people around me. It depicts events and situations that have happened throughout my lifetime. My Grandmother encouraged me through the years and after she passed away, motivated me to pursue my dreams. As a young adult I participated in Church Welcomes, Church Anniversaries and Appreciations with my writing and I have compiled my poems together. I literally pray about the occasion because I want the poem to inspire, motivate, and encourage my listeners. Each poem plays a vital role in the person I am today which led me to the title of my book, From My Heart and Soul to Yours. Words are so powerful, that over the years I had to learn to be careful, of what I release to the universe, because it could be damaging to the person on the receiving end. People can sometimes receive your words incorrectly that is why it is so easy for me to put my thoughts on paper. I have come to find out that the voids in my life; God has filled with positive influences in my life. These positive influences have impacted in more ways than they can imagine. I personally would like to thank God for giving me this gift to minister through writing. I want to thank my Mom who is the epitome of my hard work, my sister Kenya, who exemplifies living out your dreams and my Uncle Shawn who teased me in a good way for being a book worm during my childhood. I want to thank my brothers-Odies, EJ and Reginald. I was touched by an Angel, my daughter, LaShara, who started my first poem, Grown Before My Time and making me the woman I am today. My personal family which consists of the Wheelers, Page and Robinsons who have impacted my life genetically. I want to thank my paternal grandmother, Delores, for keeping in touch with me and the relationship you were determined to continue. My church family at Daytona Deliverance Church of God in Daytona Beach, Florida, my Pastors Bishop QT Wallace and Elga Wallace, my best friend and sister, Melissa, my cousin and son, Brandon, my cousins, Mark and Shawanda, Ms. Mattie and Carmela, my spiritual family and encourager, The Albright family, Cynthia, Janay and Fatima were others who have impacted my life as positive influences. To every reader that connects with my book; I pray this book inspire, motivate, encourage, and impact your life in a positive manner. I pray that it transforms, reconfigure, transpire, change, and redirect you to examine the path of your life. I am a firm believer that things happen for a reason, there are no coincidences, that our lives are already pre-destined to happen and its at this place and time, not only for my writing to be revealed, but for you to receive what has been written. I have learned during this process that our lives are an open book, and I had to reveal what has been closed for so long. I hope that this book ministers to those who have gone through similar experiences, and there will be more books to come in the future.

Book excerpt: Mind to Heart first became a reality in 2013. Faced with the devastating loss of her beloved grandfather followed by a job layoff two months later, Andrea had to develop a healthy way to deal with the shift in the trajectory of her complicated and seemingly unsteady life, so she began writing. It began as a simple way of encouraging others through her heartache. The writings have been nicknamed as AMTs over the years. AMTs are short messages of hope that are shared with others as a way to offer encouragement that is inspired straight from God. These messages always include a scripture to validate the topic and to serve as a reminder that The Word is true and applicable. The easy to understand manner that each thought is presented helps the reader to get a grasp of Biblical principles regarding how we should live our lives based on the Word of God. There have been so many that have been blessed by these messages that it was only befitting to finally publish some of the work. God desires for us to share the Good News with others, so this collection of AMTs should inspire you but also those around you. These writings are not only easy to read and understand, but they should also give you hope and guidance about how you should live out your life full of purpose. People often wonder how she comes up with so many different topics, but it is through a willingness to follow Christ by upholding His holy standards. Mind to Heart is a compilation of some of Andrea's latest work, and it is sure to bless you.

Book excerpt: The inspirational bestseller that ignited a movement and asked us to find our WHY Discover the book that is captivating millions on TikTok and that served as the basis for one of the most popular TED Talks of all time—with more than 56 million views and counting. Over a decade ago, Simon Sinek started a movement that inspired millions to demand purpose at work, to ask what was the WHY of their organization. Since then, millions have been touched by the power of his ideas, and these ideas remain as relevant and timely as ever. START WITH WHY asks (and answers) the questions: why are some people and organizations more innovative, more influential, and more profitable than others? Why do some command greater loyalty from customers and employees alike? Even among the successful, why are so few able to repeat their success over and over? People like Martin Luther King Jr., Steve Jobs, and the Wright Brothers had little in common, but they all started with WHY. They realized that people won't truly buy into a product, service, movement, or idea until they understand the WHY behind it. START WITH WHY shows that the leaders who have had the greatest influence in the world all think, act and communicate the same way—and it's the opposite of what everyone else does. Sinek calls this powerful idea The Golden Circle, and it provides a framework upon which organizations can be built, movements can be led, and people can be inspired. And it all starts with WHY.

Book excerpt: When recently divorced Rob Kozak’s eight-year-old son Bobby moves from Canada to Australia with his mother, Rob’s entire life changes. But although his son is literally on the other side of the world, Rob soon discovers that the vast distance between them is not insurmountable. Originally started as a journal to help him cope with the loss as well as record the joys of yearly visits with his son, Finding Fatherhood: Lessons Learned from Separation is the story of how Rob managed to maintain a loving, involved relationship with Bobby, even at such a great distance. It is also a delightful chronicle of their adventures together over six extended Australian holidays. During the months he was away from Bobby, a period referred to as the “desert times,” Rob reflected on and wrote about what it takes to be a good man and a good father until he could be back in the oasis of Bobby’s company. Part memoir, part Australian adventure and part portrait of a touching and unbreakable bond between father and son that couldn’t be severed by geography, Finding Fatherhood will inspire, bring comfort and offer hope to parents who are separated from their children.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Leadership and engagement expert Mark C. Crowley shows how trading in the old business playbook for heart-led leadership strategies will create purpose-driven, dedicated employees and higher levels of performance. Revised and updated to address the needs of those managing Gen Z and millennial employees in addition to the latest global research on employee engagement. In this thoroughly revised and updated edition of his now classic book, visionary Mark C. Crowley provides the roadmap workplace leaders the world over are seeking: How to most successfully and sustainably inspire and manage other human beings in the post-pandemic era. · Nearly 50 million workers quit their jobs in the U.S. alone in 2021—a record number likely to be exceeded in 2022. · While we might imagine that an opportunity to earn greater pay is the key driver of this “Great Resignation,” research shows two-thirds of the reasons people leave jobs boil down to issues related to their engagement and overall well-being. · More specifically, people quit when they feel they aren’t valued, respected, appreciated, coached—or cared about personally—by their manager and organization. · Thanks in large part to the COVID pandemic and a global reset of what matters most to people in their lives, human beings have profoundly evolved in what they need and want in exchange for their work. · Consequently, a radical change in employee expectations demands that organizations and managers rapidly pivot by embracing leadership practices that match the moment. · The remedy to the Great Resignation is to adopt more humane ways of managing people knowing they inherently lead to infinitely greater engagement not to mention optimal employee performance. · In this new and updated version of his seminal and visionary book, Mark C. Crowley draws upon emerging medical and other scientific discoveries which prove it's the heart, not the mind, that drives human motivation and achievement. · While we’ve long been led to believe that human beings are essentially rational beings, new research shows that feelings and emotions far more often motivate human behavior and what people care about most and commit themselves to in their lives. · In light of this breakthrough understanding, it’s become incumbent upon workplace managers to pay great attention to their employees' emotional experience at work—far greater attention than any of us ever believed necessary. · Ironically, most of us were told the heart has no place in workplace management. In fact, most of us were taught that the heart acts like Kryptonite in leadership: it inherently undermines a manager's effectiveness - and lowers performance. · What makes this book so remarkable is that it brilliantly contradicts all those traditional beliefs and proves why people naturally and instinctively respond to managers who care about them personally and support their deep human needs. · To be absolutely clear, there's nothing soft or weak about the Lead From The Heart philosophy. Instead, it represents the future of workplace management and a roadmap to driving uncommon engagement, productivity and profitability when organizations around the world are wanting it most. · Rich with inspiring stories and illuminating research, this book proves that when you lead people with a greater balance of mind and heart, people naturally follow. And they also excel.
