Book Synopsis Turbojet-ramjet Propulsion System for All-body Hypersonic Aircraft by : Mark H. Waters
Download or read book Turbojet-ramjet Propulsion System for All-body Hypersonic Aircraft written by Mark H. Waters and published by . This book was released on 1971 with total page 60 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The characteristics of a parallel, ovcr-and-under. turbojet-ramjet propulsion system installed on an all-body Mach number 6 hypersonic aircraft are estimated, and the effect of variations in propulsion system parameters on payload and on problems of installation are determined. Engine thrust and fuel flow requirements are evaluated throughout acceleration and cruise, and the effects on the weights and dimensions of the propulsion system, including both inlets and engines, are determined. A wraparound turboramjet is also evaluated and comparisons with the parallel turbojet-ramjet system are made.

Book Synopsis Study of Turbojet Combustor Dynamics Using Sweep-frequency Data by : John R. Szuch
Download or read book Study of Turbojet Combustor Dynamics Using Sweep-frequency Data written by John R. Szuch and published by . This book was released on 1970 with total page 52 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The analysis of data obtained from sweep-frequency testing of the 585 turbojet combustor is discussed.Bode plots of the response of combustor pressure to sinusoidal disturbances in fuelspray- nozzle pressure are presented for a range of fuel flows. An analog simulation was developed and used to match the experimental data and to identify the combustion dynamics. The effects of primary or burning-zone fuel-to-air ratio on the system response were also investigated. The experimental data were fit by linear transfer function forms to be used in overall system studies.

Book Synopsis Generalization of Turbojet-engine Performance in Terms of Pumping Characteristics by : Newell D. Sanders
Download or read book Generalization of Turbojet-engine Performance in Terms of Pumping Characteristics written by Newell D. Sanders and published by . This book was released on 1949 with total page 40 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Characteristics of a basic turbojet engine consisting of compressor, combustor, and turbine can be presented in terms of pumping characteristics; that is, corrected air flow, ratio of engine-outlet to -inlet total pressure, ratio of engine-outlet to -inlet total temperature, Reynolds number index, corrected engine speed, and corrected fuel-air ratio. Such a presentation describes the engine independently of the characteristics of other elements of the propulsion system. This method of presentation also permits rapid estimation of performance of complex propulsion systems involving the basic tubojet engine.
