Book excerpt: Northern historians have traditionally laid the blame for the War of 1861 at the feet of the Confederates at Charleston, South Carolina for their allegedly unprovoked attack upon the helpless United States garrison beseiged in Fort Sumter. This little known essay presents the Official Records, published by the United States Department of War in the 1980's, telling how the South was deliberately and treacherously maneuvered by Abraham Lincoln into firing, what would be believed, as the first shot upon a helpless United States garrison. This was Lincoln's second attempt to start the war. The first attempt, at Fort Pickens in Florida, failed. The story of Lincoln's first attempt is told, in detail, by John S. Tilley in his book, "Lincoln Takes Command".

Book excerpt: In Truth of the War Conspiracy of 1861 Johnstone explains how Lincoln and his co-conspirators used deceit, half truths, lies and violation of international law to promote their war conspiracy. Johnstone wrote his book in 1917 using documentation which was not available when the post war Confederates, such as Davis, Stephens, Semmes and Pollard, wrote their histories of the conflict. Johnstone adds even more documentation and explanation to how Lincoln managed to initiate his war of aggression against the people of the South who merely wanted to be "left alone" to live under a government ordered on the consent of the governed.

Book excerpt: Excerpt from Truth of the War Conspiracy of 1861 During President Washington's administration, at a banquet of the notables at Richmond, a young man, John Randolph of Roanoke, was called on for sentiment. Randolph arose, raised his glass, and said: "George Washington, may he be damned" - Instantly there was a howl of protest, a threatening movement. Randolph calmly waited; then continued - - "if he signs Jay's Treaty!" There was a shout of approval. I have somewhat to say. Hear me through, then howl, or shout, as you may feel. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The War on Our History Confederate memorials toppled . . . Columbus statues attacked with red paint. They started with slave-owning Confederate generals, but they’re not stopping there. The vandals are only pretending to care about the character of particular American heroes. In reality, they hate what those heroes represent: the truths asserted in the Declaration of Independence and embodied in the Constitution. And they are bent on taking America down and replacing our free society with a socialist utopia. All that stands in their way is Americans’ reverence for our history of freedom. Which is why that history simply has to go. Now, Jarrett Stepman, editor at The Daily Signal and host of Right Side of History, exposes the true aims of the war on our history: The war on America: World history is full of conquests and suffering indigenous peoples. Why target Christopher Columbus? What they really want to tear down is America. The war on Thanksgiving: World history is full of colonists. Why target the Pilgrims? What they really want to tear down is American freedom and prosperity. The war on the Founding: World history is full of slavery. Why target Thomas Jefferson? What they really want to tear down are the rights endowed by our Creator. The war on the common man: World history is full of victorious generals and populist politicians. Why target Andrew Jackson? What they really want to tear down is democracy. The war on the South: World history is full of civil strife. Why target Confederate heroes like Robert E. Lee? What they really want to tear down is respect for America’s past and the reconciliation that renewed our Union. The war on patriotism: World history is full of national pride. Why target Teddy Roosevelt? What they really want to tear down is the idea of American greatness. The war on the American century: World history is full of bloody wars. What they really want to tear down is America’s defeat of totalitarianism. If America is to survive this assault, we must rally to the defense of our illustrious history. The War on History is the battle plan.

Such was the general feeling when Abraham Lincoln took office, assuring the public of his pacific intentions in his first inaugural address. However, as the author of this little book proves from the U.S. Government's own official records, while the Confederate Peace Commissioners were being stalled in Washington with promises of the evacuation of troops from Fort Sumter in Charleston Harbor, Lincoln was secretly working behind the scenes to reinforce the fort in order to force the South to fire the first shot and thus "put the rebellion in the wrong."

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Why did the American Civil War begin? Commonly it is understood that the Confederates made the first aggressive actions when they fired upon the Union held Fort Sumter. But did they have a choice? Huger William Johnstone in this fascinating reevaluation of why the American Civil War began provides insight into how the actions of President Lincoln forced the Southern states into a corner, from which there was no escape except through violence. By drawing evidence from hundreds of first-hand accounts as well as interviews with many of the major figures who had fought in the conflict Johnstone is able to build a solid line of argument that questions our preconceived ideas of the war. Huger William Johnstone was a native of Georgia who served with the 5th Georgia Volunteers through the Civil War. He wrote this work after many years of research in 1917 and it was first published in 1921.

This book was released on 2020-04-21 with total page 352 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Revised and updated "One of today’s most respected journalists, David Rohde takes on one of the country’s most toxic conspiracy theories," presenting a "scrupulously reported and even-handed" account of how power and intelligence are exploited in Washington that “goes deep indeed inside America’s security state, telling a story that will surprise readers of all political persuasions” (Jane Mayer, author of Dark Money). Donald Trump blamed his 2020 defeat on Democrats and the “deep state”—a supposed secret cabal of Washington insiders that relentlessly encroaches on the individual rights of Americans—for stealing the election and undermining his presidency. Most Americans who supported him agreed. Americans on the left increasingly fear the “military-industrial complex,” a faction of generals and defense contractors who they believe routinely push the country into endless wars. But does the American “deep state” really exist? This question is fundamental to preserving the legitimacy of American democracy, as frustration with and distrust for the government continue to grow. In Deep seeks to dispel these pernicious myths through an examination of the FBI, CIA, and Justice Department scandals of the past fifty years from the Church Committee’s exposure of Cold War abuses to the claims and counterclaims of the Trump era and the relentless spread of conspiracy theories online and on air. It exposes the misconduct of Attorney General William Barr; how distrust of the “deep state” undermined the US government response to the COVID-19 pandemic; and the growing discord sowed by the explosion of false information online. It investigates Trump’s quest to discredit government experts, the legislative and judicial branches, and the results of the 2020 election and assume authoritarian power for himself. “The idea of the deep state, Rohde writes, is inextricably linked to a particular view of presidential power” (Dina Temple-Raston, Washington Post). Based on dozens of interviews with career CIA operatives and FBI agents, “In Deep is a wholly satisfying read and a necessary one for anyone wanting to understand the forces at play in our government today” (Andrea Bernstein, Peabody Award–winning cohost of the Trump, Inc. podcast and author of American Oligarchs).
