Este tipo de actos ocasionan una gran gama de efectos negativos hacia la sociedad, que se equiparan a la complejidad y diversidad en que esta problemática puede presentarse. Principalmente, estos adversos se reflejan en el menoscabo de los derechos fundamentales de los ciudadanos, tales como la educación, salud, seguridad, alimentación, justicia, por sólo nombrar algunos, afectando en mayor medida a los grupos en situación de vulnerabilidad. Ante este panorama, se han creado instituciones cuya finalidad es identificar, dar seguimiento y reducir la ocurrencia de los actos de corrupción en el sector público, al igual que órganos que garantizan el acceso a la información pública; así como la generación de mecanismos, políticas y lineamientos que buscan una mayor participación e involucramiento de la sociedad civil. Esta relación entre la transparencia y el combate a la corrupción, resulta de vital importancia, pues en la medida en que el actuar de los servidores públicos se encuentre disponible para el conocimiento de los ciudadanos, es la forma en que la sociedad hará uso de los mecanismos de rendición de cuentas en aras de lograr avances significativos en la reducción de esta problemática.

Pride Parades and LGBT Movements contributes to a better understanding of LGBT protest dynamics through a comparative study of eleven Pride parades in seven European countries - Czech Republic, Italy, Netherlands, Poland, Sweden, Switzerland, the UK - and Mexico.
