Book Synopsis Polarimetric Synthetic Aperture Radar by : Irena Hajnsek
Download or read book Polarimetric Synthetic Aperture Radar written by Irena Hajnsek and published by Springer Nature. This book was released on 2021-03-24 with total page 304 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This open access book focuses on the practical application of electromagnetic polarimetry principles in Earth remote sensing with an educational purpose. In the last decade, the operations from fully polarimetric synthetic aperture radar such as the Japanese ALOS/PalSAR, the Canadian Radarsat-2 and the German TerraSAR-X and their easy data access for scientific use have developed further the research and data applications at L,C and X band. As a consequence, the wider distribution of polarimetric data sets across the remote sensing community boosted activity and development in polarimetric SAR applications, also in view of future missions. Numerous experiments with real data from spaceborne platforms are shown, with the aim of giving an up-to-date and complete treatment of the unique benefits of fully polarimetric synthetic aperture radar data in five different domains: forest, agriculture, cryosphere, urban and oceans.
Book Synopsis Quantum Communications and Cryptography by : Alexander V. Sergienko
Download or read book Quantum Communications and Cryptography written by Alexander V. Sergienko and published by CRC Press. This book was released on 2018-10-03 with total page 248 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: All current methods of secure communication such as public-key cryptography can eventually be broken by faster computing. At the interface of physics and computer science lies a powerful solution for secure communications: quantum cryptography. Because eavesdropping changes the physical nature of the information, users in a quantum exchange can easily detect eavesdroppers. This allows for totally secure random key distribution, a central requirement for use of the one-time pad. Since the one-time pad is theoretically proven to be undecipherable, quantum cryptography is the key to perfect secrecy. Quantum Communications and Cryptography is the first comprehensive review of the past, present, and potential developments in this dynamic field. Leading expert contributors from around the world discuss the scientific foundations, experimental and theoretical developments, and cutting-edge technical and engineering advances in quantum communications and cryptography. The book describes the engineering principles and practical implementations in a real-world metropolitan network as well as physical principles and experimental results of such technologies as entanglement swapping and quantum teleportation. It also offers the first detailed treatment of quantum information processing with continuous variables. Technologies include both free-space and fiber-based communications systems along with the necessary protocols and information processing approaches. Bridging the gap between physics and engineering, Quantum Communications and Cryptography supplies a springboard for further developments and breakthroughs in this rapidly growing area.

Book Synopsis Optoelectronic Integration: Physics, Technology and Applications by : Osamu Wada
Download or read book Optoelectronic Integration: Physics, Technology and Applications written by Osamu Wada and published by Springer Science & Business Media. This book was released on 1994-05-31 with total page 490 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: By combining optoelectronics with electronics, optoelectronic integration is the challenging merger of many different areas of science and technology. Optoelectronic Integration: Physics, Technology, and Applications presents the basic physics, materials, fabrication techniques, and systems applications of optoelectronic integration in a concise and organized form. Comprehensive and up to date, this book describes fundamental device physics and III-V semiconductor growth and processing; covers the basic design and integration of lasers, photodetectors, waveguides, and transistors; reviews and analyzes optoelectronic integrated circuits (OEICs), photonic integrated circuits (PICs), and vertical optoelectronic functional device arrays; discusses packaging and systems architecture for applications in optical telecommunications, interconnections and signal processing. With numerous cross-references, end-of-chapter references, and extended summaries identifying key issues and prospects in each technical area, Optoelectronic Integration: Physics, Technology, and Applications is an invaluable reference for engineers, scientists and students working in optoelectronics.
Book Synopsis Signal analogique, capacités commutées by : François Baillieu
Download or read book Signal analogique, capacités commutées written by François Baillieu and published by . This book was released on 1994 with total page 322 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle.
