Download or read book Beyond E-Business written by Paul Grefen and published by Routledge. This book was released on 2015-07-16 with total page 310 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: In Beyond E-Business: Towards Networked Structures Paul Grefen returns with his tried and tested BOAT framework for e-business, now fully expanded and updated with the very latest overview of digitally connected business; from business models, organization structures and architecture, to information technology. What used to be termed "e-business" is now simply business as usual. Today’s successful organizations are complex; they are part of dynamic business networks built on digital channels, going far beyond traditional e-business. This text provides invaluable insights of modern e-business integrated with networked business, going much further than the usual analysis of traditional e-business texts. Included is coverage of the Big Five—social media, mobile computing, big data, cloud computing, and the internet of things --as well as service-oriented business and technology. This essential text provides a compact roadmap to networked e-business for engineering, information systems or business students as well as professionals in the field.
Book Synopsis Words and Power by : Bernadette Longo
Download or read book Words and Power written by Bernadette Longo and published by Springer Nature. This book was released on 2021-07-26 with total page 151 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: When viewed through a political lens, the act of defining terms in natural language arguably transforms knowledge into values. This unique volume explores how corporate, military, academic, and professional values shaped efforts to define computer terminology and establish an information engineering profession as a precursor to what would become computer science. As the Cold War heated up, U.S. federal agencies increasingly funded university researchers and labs to develop technologies, like the computer, that would ensure that the U.S. maintained economic prosperity and military dominance over the Soviet Union. At the same time, private corporations saw opportunities for partnering with university labs and military agencies to generate profits as they strengthened their business positions in civilian sectors. They needed a common vocabulary and principles of streamlined communication to underpin the technology development that would ensure national prosperity and military dominance. investigates how language standardization contributed to the professionalization of computer science as separate from mathematics, electrical engineering, and physics examines traditions of language standardization in earlier eras of rapid technology development around electricity and radio highlights the importance of the analogy of “the computer is like a human” to early explanations of computer design and logic traces design and development of electronic computers within political and economic contexts foregrounds the importance of human relationships in decisions about computer design This in-depth humanistic study argues for the importance of natural language in shaping what people come to think of as possible and impossible relationships between computers and humans. The work is a key reference in the history of technology and serves as a source textbook on the human-level history of computing. In addition, it addresses those with interests in sociolinguistic questions around technology studies, as well as technology development at the nexus of politics, business, and human relations.
Book Synopsis Theory and Applications of NeutroAlgebras as Generalizations of Classical Algebras by : Smarandache, Florentin
Download or read book Theory and Applications of NeutroAlgebras as Generalizations of Classical Algebras written by Smarandache, Florentin and published by IGI Global. This book was released on 2022-04-15 with total page 333 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Neutrosophy is a new branch of philosophy that studies the origin, nature, and scope of neutralities as well as their interactions with different ideational spectra. In all classical algebraic structures, the law of compositions on a given set are well-defined, but this is a restrictive case because there are situations in science where a law of composition defined on a set may be only partially defined and partially undefined, which we call NeutroDefined, or totally undefined, which we call AntiDefined. Theory and Applications of NeutroAlgebras as Generalizations of Classical Algebra introduces NeutroAlgebra, an emerging field of research. This book provides a comprehensive collection of original work related to NeutroAlgebra and covers topics such as image retrieval, mathematical morphology, and NeutroAlgebraic structure. It is an essential resource for philosophers, mathematicians, researchers, educators and students of higher education, and academicians.
Book Synopsis Algebra and Coding Theory by : A. Leroy
Download or read book Algebra and Coding Theory written by A. Leroy and published by American Mathematical Society. This book was released on 2023-05-01 with total page 270 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This volume contains the proceedings of the Virtual Conference on Noncommutative Rings and their Applications VII, in honor of Tariq Rizvi, held from July 5–7, 2021, and the Virtual Conference on Quadratic Forms, Rings and Codes, held on July 8, 2021, both of which were hosted by the Université d'Artois, Lens, France. The articles cover topics in commutative and noncommutative algebra and applications to coding theory. In some papers, applications of Frobenius rings, the skew group rings, and iterated Ore extensions to coding theory are discussed. Other papers discuss classical topics, such as Utumi rings, Baer rings, nil and nilpotent algebras, and Brauer groups. Still other articles are devoted to various aspects of the elementwise study for rings and modules. Lastly, this volume includes papers dealing with questions in homological algebra and lattice theory. The articles in this volume show the vivacity of the research of noncommutative rings and its influence on other subjects.
Book Synopsis Machine Learners by : Adrian Mackenzie
Download or read book Machine Learners written by Adrian Mackenzie and published by MIT Press. This book was released on 2017-11-16 with total page 269 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: If machine learning transforms the nature of knowledge, does it also transform the practice of critical thought? Machine learning—programming computers to learn from data—has spread across scientific disciplines, media, entertainment, and government. Medical research, autonomous vehicles, credit transaction processing, computer gaming, recommendation systems, finance, surveillance, and robotics use machine learning. Machine learning devices (sometimes understood as scientific models, sometimes as operational algorithms) anchor the field of data science. They have also become mundane mechanisms deeply embedded in a variety of systems and gadgets. In contexts from the everyday to the esoteric, machine learning is said to transform the nature of knowledge. In this book, Adrian Mackenzie investigates whether machine learning also transforms the practice of critical thinking. Mackenzie focuses on machine learners—either humans and machines or human-machine relations—situated among settings, data, and devices. The settings range from fMRI to Facebook; the data anything from cat images to DNA sequences; the devices include neural networks, support vector machines, and decision trees. He examines specific learning algorithms—writing code and writing about code—and develops an archaeology of operations that, following Foucault, views machine learning as a form of knowledge production and a strategy of power. Exploring layers of abstraction, data infrastructures, coding practices, diagrams, mathematical formalisms, and the social organization of machine learning, Mackenzie traces the mostly invisible architecture of one of the central zones of contemporary technological cultures. Mackenzie's account of machine learning locates places in which a sense of agency can take root. His archaeology of the operational formation of machine learning does not unearth the footprint of a strategic monolith but reveals the local tributaries of force that feed into the generalization and plurality of the field.

Book Synopsis Commutative Algebra Methods for Coding Theory by : Ştefan Ovidiu I. Tohăneanu
Download or read book Commutative Algebra Methods for Coding Theory written by Ştefan Ovidiu I. Tohăneanu and published by Walter de Gruyter GmbH & Co KG. This book was released on 2024-07-01 with total page 276 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This book aims to be a comprehensive treatise on the interactions between Coding Theory and Commutative Algebra. With the help of a multitude of examples, it expands and systematizes the known and versatile commutative algebraic framework used, since the early 90’s, to study linear codes. The book provides the necessary background for the reader to advance with similar research on coding theory topics from commutative algebraic perspectives.
