Cade “Lucky” Hendrix does things his own way. He’s a winner on the field and a sinner in the bedroom. There’s only one catch: he’ll never have the same girl twice. Kendra Boles has no time for arrogant jocks trying to get in her “end zone.” She’s got her hands full after the director of the charity where she works is arrested on charges of embezzlement. Besides, even if she was interested in dating, a playboy like Lucky Hendrix would be far from the top of her list. When the new team owner throws a fit over his players’ love-‘em-and-leave-‘em ways, Lucky is put in a tough position. He couldn’t care less about actually changing his lifestyle – he just wants someone to provide a little cover until this storm blows over. He strikes a deal with Kendra. If she pretends to be his girlfriend, he’ll donate to her charity and look after one of their “Younger Brothers.” At first, it’s strictly business. But the longer Lucky and Kendra hang out, the harder it is to deny what they’re both feeling. Kendra is scared of the possibilities, but Lucky is determined not to let her become the one that got away. If there’s one thing in his life that’s always true, it’s this: Lucky Hendrix doesn’t lose.

Book excerpt: One secret remembered, another forgotten...which one will explode first? Brianna has two problems: she cannot remember her past, and she astrally projects to another woman who has predictions tortured out of her. As a result, she is lonely and feels distanced from her co-workers -- the only family she has ever known -- the Fey Touched Hunters. She is their intelligence gatherer, and her episodes are interfering with her ability to do her job. When Fey Touched Hunter Cobra, her friend, finds her alone and injured from an episode, she accepts his help. But she's terrified of doctors and of being thought mentally ill, so she refuses to tell him what's wrong or let him take her to get medical help. Still, Cobra continues to help and protect her. They find themselves falling in love. But Cobra, too, has a secret that could rip their fragile bond apart. When Brianna discovers through her episodes that someone has plans to destroy the Fey Clans, the Fey Touched decide to put their hatred aside and help them. But it's not just a matter of someone with a grudge: there are other, more powerful players -- beings thought to be legend. As they unravel the mystery, Brianna's episodes become more frequent and more dangerous until she is faced with a choice. To find the mystery girl and help the Fey Clans, she must risk opening herself up to the Hunters and to Cobra, and put her own life on the line. But is she prepared for the answers she'll find? Please note that there is explicit language, sex, and violence so this book may be unsuitable for those under 18.

Book excerpt: LYNNS JOURNAL THE THIRD BOOK IN A TRILOGY Lynn Bosen grew up in a trailer park. Her father abused her until he died when Lynn was nine years old. Her mother was a recluse, showing little interest or affection for Lynn. Lynn grew up with three survival qualities. She could run like the wind, she had a powerful mind, and she had a beautiful body. Boys and men were drawn to her. Lynn is now Lynn Bosen Noble. Her husband, Mike Noble, is a graduate professor and vice president of Great Rivers University (GRU). Mike Noble has studied in diverse academic fields including studies of writing and healing. In Stem: Cells That Divide, Lynn was left for dead in an explosion meant to kill her and to destroy the Stem Cell Laboratory on the campus of GRU. She survived and Mike encouraged her to write of her life in a journal, thus, Lynns Journal. Lynn takes on the task with little enthusiasm; however, she addresses the challenge and she enjoys the process. You will respect her courage and her survival skills. She has trepidation about sharing it with Mike. This is her unexpurgated journal, or as some are wont to say, warts and all. Enjoy!

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The most engaging collection of the French mystics’ writings now available Twenty-first century Christians are now discovering the wisdom of this controversial theologian and spiritual thinker. Fénelon showed how it was possible to have devotion and faith in the original Age of Reason. In many respects, rationality still rules today in religion and culture, and as a result, Fénelon speaks to modern Christians wanting deeper faith and a meaningful inner life. His writings have never been as accessible as they are now in these lively new translations. The Complete Fénelon includes more than one hundred of Fénelon’s letters of spiritual counsel, as well as meditations on eighty-five other topics. Also translated here into English for the first time are Fénelon’s personal reflections on twenty-one seasons and holidays of the Christian year. An introduction from bestselling translator Robert J. Edmonson and in-depth recommended reading and bibliography make this the first place to start in any study of Francois Fénelon.

Book excerpt: #1 NEW YORK TIMES BESTSELLER • Experience the book that started the Quiet Movement and revolutionized how the world sees introverts—and how introverts see themselves—by offering validation, inclusion, and inspiration “Superbly researched, deeply insightful, and a fascinating read, Quiet is an indispensable resource for anyone who wants to understand the gifts of the introverted half of the population.”—Gretchen Rubin, author of The Happiness Project NAMED ONE OF THE BEST BOOKS OF THE YEAR BY People • O: The Oprah Magazine • Christian Science Monitor • Inc. • Library Journal • Kirkus Reviews At least one-third of the people we know are introverts. They are the ones who prefer listening to speaking; who innovate and create but dislike self-promotion; who favor working on their own over working in teams. It is to introverts—Rosa Parks, Chopin, Dr. Seuss, Steve Wozniak—that we owe many of the great contributions to society. In Quiet, Susan Cain argues that we dramatically undervalue introverts and shows how much we lose in doing so. She charts the rise of the Extrovert Ideal throughout the twentieth century and explores how deeply it has come to permeate our culture. She also introduces us to successful introverts—from a witty, high-octane public speaker who recharges in solitude after his talks, to a record-breaking salesman who quietly taps into the power of questions. Passionately argued, impeccably researched, and filled with indelible stories of real people, Quiet has the power to permanently change how we see introverts and, equally important, how they see themselves. Growing up, Noah Clark was passed from one relative to the next until he finally ended up living with his abusive, alcoholic uncle in Kill Devil Hills, North Carolina. Now he runs his own business and lives a pretty normal, no-nonsense life—one where he maintains a high level of control. Georgina is Ellie’s younger sister. Four months ago, Noah saved Georgie’s life, but he thought that was where his involvement with his friend’s sister would end. Now Georgie has returned home from the recovery facility her parents sent her away to and Noah, still haunted by the night that connects them, can’t stop himself from continuously trying to protect this girl he barely knows. But is he willing to give up all of the control he’s worked so hard to build in his life and risk everything for her? Even more importantly, would she do the same for him? **NEW ADULT ROMANCE** Recommended for 18+ due to sexual content, language, and adult themes. Kill Devil Hills is the first novel of a series, but each book will be a standalone.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Hurdle after hurdle, everyone’s experiences are their own. This memoir’s filled with some of mine. Mixed with a bit of poetry and some spicy language, this was written to help you divide and conquer your trauma. This memoir may get a little too descriptive, but this is a complex topic that needs to be addressed, and societal changes need to be made. Trauma affects people to their core; no matter what has hurt you, we have all had to endure something that has negatively affected us. This book won’t be the magical fix for everyone, but if it helps at least one person, I’ve done my job. Yes, there will be some triggers in this story, so read with caution. Please enjoy as I open up about some of the lowest and highest points in my life; this wasn’t easy, but it’s a topic that needs to be discussed. It’s time to make people uncomfortable until changes are made. No one should feel like they can’t walk the streets, grab a drink, travel alone, or do everyday life basics because others can’t control their “urges.” We’ve addressed it enough that people should finally feel safe by now, but they don’t. Society needs to do better.
