Book excerpt: Eden I'm organizing New York's biggest charity event of the year. But when the keynote speaker drops out, the success of my business hangs in the balance. There's one man who can help me. And no, I'm not above flying to the middle of nowhere to plead with the baseball legend in hiding. All I need is a yes. I didn't expect his hostility. I didn't expect a hurricane to trap me alone with him. And I didn't expect to find that he still owns my heart after all this time. Chase I left New York two years ago with my life and superstar career in shambles. All I want is solitude and peace to heal and start a new business, a new life, a new me. Then Eden shows up, asking for the impossible. If I could say yes, I would. She doesn't know the whole truth about my downfall. And I don't want her to know. To save us both, I will have to remind her I'm the bastard who hurts the ones he loves.

As leader of the band of light-fingered brothers known as the Gentlemen Bastards, Locke is soon infamous, fooling even the underworld’s most feared ruler. England’s Archbishop of Canterbury is dying and with him the power of the Church. Seizing his chance, King Henry II is determined to enforce the rule of law that he has painstakingly established and bring the violent, corrupt and criminal clergy before his courts. The ever-scheming Thomas Becket uses his mastery of deceit, sycophancy and wit to undermine the King and the Plantagenet dynasty. Should Becket be elected as the next Archbishop of Canterbury, against the wishes of Queen Eleanor and Empress Matilda, he will be one step closer to becoming England’s strongman. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: by Alice DiNizo for Readers' Favorite The incredible steamship named Titanic sank on her maiden voyage across the Atlantic on April 15, 1912, and books have been written and movies produced about this tragic steamship disaster. Troy Veenstra has written "Titanic: Echo of the Dying Confession" which covers the Titanic's demise but with a different slant. In journal format, the narrator of this chilling version tells of how he sought revenge for his father's tragic loss of his ownership of the famed White Star Lines when the White Star board sells the shipping line to American millionaire J.P. Morgan. The narrator is angered, incensed that his father, whom he worshiped, is treated badly by business associates and the building of the super steamships, the Olympic, the Titanic, and the Gigantic are to be built. The rest is well-known history. "Titanic: Echo of the Dying Confession" is a unique work of fiction about the Titanic. Using italics to convey conversation, the author has the narrator transcribing his thoughts as he is dying. Once young, the narrator is now an old and grieving man as he sits on his ocean-side estate and gazes upon the Atlantic Ocean which he refers to as a "massive rolling grave site". He thinks of the revenge he sought and the pain it caused those who perished. This journal is long, descriptive and very Victorian, as befits the memories of a gentleman born in 1856. On page 199, the narrator says that his memoirs as contained in this story are "the longest confession of one man's transgressions ever written upon paper. But the writing is just how a man of those times would express himself, and the characters of both fictional and real people of the Titanic are true to the times and to history. Titanic fans and most of the others will love reading "Titanic: Echo of the Dying Confession."

Book excerpt: Charlotte Emma Gledson's The Lonely Tree and Other Twisted Tales of Torment is a collection of dark, disturbing and explicit stories that break the boundaries of usual horror fiction. Touching on subjects that are 'close to home'; these tales will conjure up feelings of agitation, with the lingering unease that will haunt you throughout your day. These stories are based on the horror and madness of the human mind. 'The book that I am reading right now, is Charlotte Gledson's The Lonely Tree. A treasure of dark tales that will keep me far away from England and the horrors that lie there. She has the ability to wrap you with the beauty of her words, and then darken the entire room around you with the meaning behind them. I would suggest this for any fans of horror and dark gothic tales'. JEFF EZELL - Autho

Godley-Ramos puts it down hard - so get ready to say "AMEN" or "OUCH!" Whew! The "Bootleg Shepherds", the "Wolf Clerics" the "Prophet Wannabes" and sadly, even the poor "Slumbering Sheep" are in for a rude awakening. "ABR II" is a crooked pastor's worse nightmare, but it is the answer to prayer for the many who have been wounded by them. No longer will they rape the flock and go free. "Bootlegs" give God's good pastor's a bad name. The church may not be ready for this one, because things will never be the same again-we mean it! "Dagon shall fall down!"

Someone far closer than he could have dreamed. The only solace he finds is watching Delilah dance. Book excerpt: TORMENT is a mystery novel set in the small fictional town of Marcville, Ontario, a model bedroom town. Westland High is its model school. But both are susceptible to cracks in the harmony of the social milieu, and silent tears in the misery of individual lives. When Kyra Whitehead, a vivacious cheerleader, is raped at a celebratory team party, no one anticipates what follows this single, horrific act. Amongst hundreds of staff and students, finding witnesses is not a problem, but defining motives and eliminating inconsequential evidence becomes a nightmare for Detective Michael Stewart and his crew of fellow police officers. Identifying suspects can only be achieved by realizing who the intended victims were, and then, who would want to harm them. The words and actions of a string of proposed suspects are interpreted in unexpected and startling ways. The story leads us through the trauma of lives brutalized by bullying, and into worlds where drug and gambling addictions redefine the bully and the victim.
