Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The Classics Exposed... A motley history of bastardism, fornication, and adultery. Returning home from a very satisfactory visit to London, the wealthy Squire Allworthy discovers a baby—in his bed! He knows the baby isn't his, but once he discovers the mother he believes responsible, he undertakes to bring up the boy as his own, alongside his relative and heir. Tom Jones, as the baby is named, grows up utterly loveable, sexy, gorgeous and a bit of a scamp. Well, a lot of a scamp. While the Squire pleasures mistresses and schools maids in enjoyable discipline sessions, Tom learns how to live and love, with able help from the local populace. And makes enemies in the process, who plot their revenge on the bold boy who has captured the neighbourhood's hearts. Not a word is altered in this classic novel—only added to. Lynne Connolly adds the parts that Fielding skimps on, and who knows but Fielding wanted to put them in? Tom Jones is a bawdy romp through one of the most enjoyable eras in British history. Follow Tom, the Squire, the local round-heeled girl Molly and a cast of unforgettable characters as Tom grows to manhood in an English countryside of Hogarthian splendour.

Book Synopsis Rebel in high Heels by : Charlotte Laws
Download or read book Rebel in high Heels written by Charlotte Laws and published by Stroud House Publishing. This book was released on 2015-04-24 with total page 284 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Rebel in High Heels is a memoir about Dr. Charlotte Laws—“the Erin Brockovich of revenge porn”—who was voted one of the “30 fiercest women in the world.” She fought a dangerous war against “the most hated man on the Internet” to protect her daughter and other victims. She was bombarded with death threats and computer viruses and targeted by a stalker who appeared at her home. But who is this woman that MSNBC calls a hero? In addition to detailing her gripping revenge porn fight, this book chronicles the first 22 years of Laws’ life. Her adoptive mother committed suicide, her little brother was killed, and her father’s only comment was he wished it had been her. Laws’ first boyfriend was pop idol Tom Jones. She has hobnobbed with the rich and famous. Though not born with VIP access, she taught herself how to gate-crash any event, anywhere, anytime. Rebel in High Heels details Laws’ intriguing—sometimes scandalous—encounters with Bill Cosby and other stars. At age 20, Laws earned 300k per year as a Las Vegas chip-chatter. She also worked as a bandit cab driver, a backup singer for an Elvis imitator and bodyguard for a prostitute. Laws—a former Southern California politician and weekly NBC commentator—has appeared on “The Late Show,” Fox News, “Oprah,” “Nightline,” CNN, “Dr. Drew” and “Larry King Live.” She has a Ph.D. in Social Ethics, as well as two Master’s degrees and two BAs. Her articles have been published in The Huffington Post, The Los Angeles Times, Newsweek, Jezebel, Salon and the L.A. Daily News. Rebel in High Heels is mostly about perseverance and looking beyond oneself. It is about fighting for ones dreams, while striving to better the world. Laws is the little Atlanta girl who could. And did. _____ “Dr. Charlotte Laws became the ‘Erin Brockovich of revenge porn.’” —CBS News “Never underestimate a former Buckhead debutante.” —The Atlanta Journal-Constitution “This book is two for the price of one. Rebel in High Heels provides a gripping account of Charlotte Laws’ dangerous battle against revenge porn. But it also details Laws’ roller-coaster early years: dating a superstar, dealing with suicide, hobnobbing with celebrities, fighting racism and being thrust into the glitzy world of ‘sex for sale.’ By following Laws’ bold, life-crashing adventures, the reader learns how to become a rebel and a relentless advocate for victims. This memoir is about persistence, leading an active life and helping others. Laws invents her own recipe for success. She reveals her secrets in this mesmerizing tell-all book, tidbit by tasty tidbit.” —Every Way Woman Show “I didn’t realize how brave Charlotte Laws is until I see her in action.” —The Guardian "Charlotte Laws singlehandedly dismantled the empire of pure evil that earned Hunter Moore the title of ‘Most Hated Man on the Internet.’” —MSNBC “Charlotte Laws… a very appropriate last name. Trying to get laws passed in a number of states.” —Fox News "If you care about women, you need this book. Charlotte Laws is the Erin Brockovich of ‘revenge porn,’ and she will change your life just like she changed mine. Buy this for your daughters, your sisters, your mother and yourself.” —Mandy Stadtmiller, deputy editor, xojane “Charlotte Laws [is] a prominent anti-revenge porn activist.” —Washington Post “I am glad that Charlotte is sharing her story in writing this book. It is important that we educate people about revenge porn and the devastating effects on victims.” —Senator Anthony Cannella, California “In spite of the risks, Laws took up the sword.” —YES! Magazine “When Charlotte gets something in mind, nothing can stop her…She has embarked upon lots of activities in her life but with one purpose: to fight for her beliefs.” —Stylist Magazine “My goodness, she does a lot!” —LA Talk Radio

Download or read book Wonderful Tonight written by Kevan Taplin and published by Paragon Publishing. This book was released on 2014-10-13 with total page 222 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Wonderful Tonight is set against a background of rural Norfolk during the Thatcherite years and deliberately follows a pivotal year in the life of Stuart Harvey who is essentially ‘Mr. Average’ and father of two. Stuart is however considered an above average teacher who due to accumulated frustrations within his profession undergoes a gradual epiphany and despite the economic harshness of the times decides to give up the relative safety of his teaching career. The first part of the novel which is deliberately written in an ‘easy-read’ and hopefully humorous style charts Stuarts growing disillusion with the education system and onto the realization that despite everything indicating otherwise, he wants to follow his long-suppressed desire to play the guitar in a band. The novel then builds through the establishment of the band and onto their first successful gig using ‘Clem’, Stuart’s guitar-playing alter-ego to comment on the experience. Harsh economic reality begins to dawn on Stuart and after a disastrous gig in rural Lincolnshire, which touches on his previous world, the band effectively disintegrates leaving Stuart adrift in the wreckage of his decision to quit teaching. The second part of the novel reflects the darker part of the journey as he fails to find employment and also fails to appreciate his wife's relative career success. Within this family vacuum a potential problem with Stuart's eldest daughter goes unnoticed and Stuart is forced to reflect on his contribution to the family’s predicament as it begins to degenerate towards dysfunction. A chance meeting leads to Stuart’s life resuming some semblance of normality and effectively saves his family and thus his journey ends with a sense of optimism. Wonderful Tonight is named after an Eric Clapton track popular on set lists of the time and usually played as a final number. A glossary of terms is included for the benefit of those who did not live through and experience the lifestyle of these times. “A riveting good read in every sense” The South Norfolk magazine for light engineering brackets “The creation of Clem as a subjugated and subliminal ultra-ego (or id?) is a literary masterpiece but possibly indicates the schizophrenic tendencies of the author himself.” The Leighton Buzzard Journal of Psycho-therapy
