Book Synopsis Semiconductors Probed by Ultrafast Laser Spectroscopy Pt II by : Robert R. Alfano
Download or read book Semiconductors Probed by Ultrafast Laser Spectroscopy Pt II written by Robert R. Alfano and published by Elsevier. This book was released on 2012-12-02 with total page 576 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Semiconductors Probed by Ultrafast Laser Spectroscopy, Volume II discusses the use of ultrafast laser spectroscopy in studying fast physics in semiconductors. It reviews progress on the experimental and theoretical understanding of ultrafast events that occur on a picosecond and nanosecond time scale. This volume discusses electronic relaxation in amorphous semiconductors and the physical mechanisms during and after the interaction of an intense laser pulse with a semiconductor. It also covers the relaxation of carriers in semiconductors; transient optical pulse propagation; and methods of time-resolved spectroscopy. Scientists, engineers, and graduate students will find this book invaluable.

Book Synopsis Dopants and Defects in Semiconductors by : Matthew D. McCluskey
Download or read book Dopants and Defects in Semiconductors written by Matthew D. McCluskey and published by CRC Press. This book was released on 2018-02-19 with total page 373 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Praise for the First Edition "The book goes beyond the usual textbook in that it provides more specific examples of real-world defect physics ... an easy reading, broad introductory overview of the field" ―Materials Today "... well written, with clear, lucid explanations ..." ―Chemistry World This revised edition provides the most complete, up-to-date coverage of the fundamental knowledge of semiconductors, including a new chapter that expands on the latest technology and applications of semiconductors. In addition to inclusion of additional chapter problems and worked examples, it provides more detail on solid-state lighting (LEDs and laser diodes). The authors have achieved a unified overview of dopants and defects, offering a solid foundation for experimental methods and the theory of defects in semiconductors. Matthew D. McCluskey is a professor in the Department of Physics and Astronomy and Materials Science Program at Washington State University (WSU), Pullman, Washington. He received a Physics Ph.D. from the University of California (UC), Berkeley. Eugene E. Haller is a professor emeritus at the University of California, Berkeley, and a member of the National Academy of Engineering. He received a Ph.D. in Solid State and Applied Physics from the University of Basel, Switzerland.

Book Synopsis Near Infrared Detectors Based on Silicon Supersaturated with Transition Metals by : Daniel Montero Álvarez
Download or read book Near Infrared Detectors Based on Silicon Supersaturated with Transition Metals written by Daniel Montero Álvarez and published by Springer Nature. This book was released on 2021-01-08 with total page 262 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This thesis makes a significant contribution to the development of cheaper Si-based Infrared detectors, operating at room temperature. In particular, the work is focused in the integration of the Ti supersaturated Si material into a CMOS Image Sensor route, the technology of choice for imaging nowadays due to its low-cost and high resolution. First, the material is fabricated using ion implantation of Ti atoms at high concentrations. Afterwards, the crystallinity is recovered by means of a pulsed laser process. The material is used to fabricate planar photodiodes, which are later characterized using current-voltage and quantum efficiency measurements. The prototypes showed improved sub-bandgap responsivity up to 0.45 eV at room temperature. The work is further supported by a collaboration with STMicroelectronics, where the supersaturated material was integrated into CMOS-based sensors at industry level. The results show that Ti supersaturated Si is compatible in terms of contamination, process integration and uniformity. The devices showed similar performance to non-implanted devices in the visible region. This fact leaves the door open for further integration of supersaturated materials into CMOS Image Sensors.
