Book excerpt: May Sinclair's The Creators is a study of a group of writers and would-be writers and their struggles and/or accommodations withing the literary marketplace. It deals with the trials and tribulations of literary celebrity and with lack of recognition. It also focuses on the doubts and self-divisions of the artist and on his or her battles with conventional gender roles. The novel's subtitle - 'a comedy' - puzzled some of its first readers and reviewers, the TLS to speculate that the comedy must lie in that fact that the creators believe that they are geniuses. Sinclair does not take her characters as seriously as they take themselves, but her social comedy also exposes the limitations of the conventional middle-class world which either exploits or fails to understand them. First serialized in the Century Illustrated Monthly Magazine between November 1909 and October 1910, The Creators was first published in book form by John Constable in 1910. This edition restored the numerous and extensive cuts that were made to Sinclair's manuscript during the process of the novel's serialization.

Book excerpt: Humans--creators in training--have a purpose and destiny so heartwarmingly, profoundly glorious that it is almost unbelievable from our present dimensional perspective. Humans are great lightbeings from beyond this creation, gaining experience in dense physicality by slowing down the creative process in order to feel the results and consequences of their decisions and actions. This truth about the great human genetic experiment of the Explorer Race and the mechanics of creation is being revealed for the first time by Zoosh and his friends as humanity begins to awaken to its true nature. Zoosh and a great assortment of beings who have never spoken to the physical plane before--from particles to All That Is--speak vibrantly through superchannel Robert Shapiro. Each personality has its own knowing, perception and expertise as it shares its history, its present focus and the awesome truth about humanity's mission. The books read like adventure stories as we follow the clues from this creation we live in out to the Council of Creators and beyond. As we explore the greater reality beyond our planet, our galaxy, our dimension, our creation, we meet prototypes, designers, shapemakers, creators, creators of creators and friends of our Creator, who explain their roles in this creation and their experiences before and beyond this creation. As our awareness expands about the way creation works, our awareness of who we are expands and we realize that a part of ourselves is in that vast creation -- and that we are much greater and more magnificent than even science fiction had led us to believe. Join us in the adventure of discovery. It's mind-stretching.

The final three cases feature three North Carolina charter schools and their leaders. Each leaders’ narrative reveals amazing journeys with different paths taken, different choices made; however, these leaders were all entrepreneurs with a passion to guide their schools for the long haul toward success with a specific mission and vision to improve educational opportunities and a better future for a specific group of children. By connecting those different perspectives, and analysing some practical case studies, it guides readers to dissect the relationship between machine and human autonomy, and machine and human identity. It analyses how the relationship between human and technology has been evolving in the last few centuries. Last, it aims at proposing an explanation on the reason/s why humans have been keen on developing their own autonomy’s perfect avatar.
