Book Synopsis Why Are the Young People Leaving the Church by : Ruben Joseph
Download or read book Why Are the Young People Leaving the Church written by Ruben Joseph and published by Xlibris Corporation. This book was released on 2011-08-11 with total page 101 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: If you are a parent, an elder, a youth leader, a pastor, a priest, or a young person, inside or outside of the church, this book is written just for you. The youth of today are facing serious issues, causing an unprecedented apathy in their walk with God. It is said throughout the Bible that the youth will finish the battle. They shall rise and have visions; they will lead a holy revolution and finish the gospel. Therefore, the enemy is like a roaring lion seeking them especially to devour. This book offers an analytic view of what is going on in our churches and provides practical solutions. The book is not at all biased; it is well-grounded. The book merely advocates religion but greatly elevates the Bible as the one and true guide to living a godly life. Sometimes the youth are overlooked, but that does not mean they must leave. There is a raging storm on the outside, and the only safe place is in the ark of safety. As described in the chapters, there is much fun in the world, but they also come with consequences as did for Adam and Eve. Traditions and culture can sometimes wrongly influence the youth, but knowing Gods truth should serve as an anchor to keep Christians grounded. The enablers tacitly infiltrate pagan customs, which causes other religions to question Christianitys genuineness, but the truth of the matter is Christianity is not the problem. We must remain faithful, be active in sharing the gospel, and when Jesus, our redeemer, returns as the groom to take His bride, the church, hopefully we will all be part of the remnant elect.

Book Synopsis The Fury of God by : Jeremy J. Lundmark
Download or read book The Fury of God written by Jeremy J. Lundmark and published by WestBow Press. This book was released on 2014-05 with total page 251 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Is God loving? The Bible says that God is love; however, it also portrays a God that floods the earth, takes the lives of the firstborn in Egypt, and lashes out time and again in His fury. How can a God of love be synonymous with the God of fury displayed in the Old Testament? Are we fools? “The fear of the Lord is the beginning of knowled≥ fools despise wisdom and instruction” (Pro 1:7). Twice in the Proverbs we’re told that the beginning of knowledge and wisdom is the fear of the Lord. Is it possible that we have become altogether ignorant simply because we’ve tossed out the Bible’s basic teaching on God’s fury? The Fury of God penetrates the paradox and shows that we cannot truly understand God’s love until we fully understand His fury. If believers today are truly abiding in God’s Word, they will come face-to-face with the fury of God, and its truth will bring satisfaction to their souls. God’s people must know the truth. They longingly desire it. The truth is that our God is a consuming fire. He is a jealous God. He is a holy God. He is an unchanging God. He is a triune God. Our God is a God of fury. It is that God, the God of the Scriptures, whom I hope to resurrect in the hearts and minds of His people with this book.
Download or read book Follow written by Katie Prejean McGrady and published by . This book was released on 2018 with total page 0 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Winner of a 2019 Association of Catholic Publishers Award: Teen Books (First Place). How well do you know Jesus? Like, REALLY know him? Catholic author and speaker Katie Prejean McGrady shares sometimes embarrassing, often humorous, and always inspiring stories about how she came to know and love Jesus and how you can, too, through prayer, scripture, sacraments, and service. In the summer of 2016, Katie Prejean McGrady walked off the stage feeling great about a forty-five-minute talk she had just given, when a young man from the audience stopped her for advice. His questions caught her completely off guard. "Who is Jesus?" "How can I get to know him?" Prejean McGrady--who speaks to tens of thousands of Catholic teens and young adults a year about her passion for Jesus--couldn't give the guy a straightforward answer. And it bugged her. Bigtime. In Follow, she uses engaging, sometimes awkward, and frequently funny stories from her own life to show you four simple and practical steps to get to know Jesus and have life-changing friendship with him: Prayer (lift your heart)--She helps you understand that prayer is just talking to God and gives you the tools to start. Scripture (open your ears)--Prejean McGrady introduces you to an easier way to start reading the Bible. Sacraments (receive God's grace)--She encourages you to see the sacraments as spiritual fuel for your relationship with Jesus. Service (share the gift)--She will nudge you beyond your comfort zone in the Church's common mission to be the hands and feet of Christ in the world. Prejean McGrady will help you open your heart and mind to meeting Jesus in a personal way and challenge you to see him for who he really is.

Download or read book You Lost Me written by David Kinnaman and published by Baker Books. This book was released on 2011-10-01 with total page 256 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Close to 60 percent of young people who went to church as teens drop out after high school. Now the bestselling author of unChristian trains his researcher's eye on these young believers. Where Kinnaman's first book unChristian showed the world what outsiders aged 16-29 think of Christianity, You Lost Me shows why younger Christians aged 16-29 are leaving the church and rethinking their faith. Based on new research, You Lost Me shows pastors, church leaders, and parents how we have failed to equip young people to live "in but not of" the world and how this has serious long-term consequences. More importantly, Kinnaman offers ideas on how to help young people develop and maintain a vibrant faith that they embrace over a lifetime.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Join the conversation as experts propose, defend, and explore Four Views of Youth Ministry and the Church. In a dialog that often gets downright feisty, four youth ministry academicians delineate their distinct philosophical and ecclesiological views regarding how youth ministry relates to the church at large--and leave a taste of what’s profound and what’s not in these four typologies:Inclusive congregational (Malan Nel). What happens when a church thoroughly integrates its adolescents, making them full partners in every aspect of congregational life?Preparatory (Wesley Black). Why and how should a church consider its teenagers as disciples-in-training and its youth ministry a school of preparation for future participation in church life?Missional (Chap Clark). What does a church look like, whose youth ministry does not necessarily nurture "church kids" but is essentially evangelistic? Whose youths and youth workers are considered missionaries?Strategic (Mark Senter). How feasible is it for a youth ministry to become a new church on its own--the youth pastor becoming the pastor, and the new church planted with the blessing of the mother church? In Four View of Your Ministry and the Church, solid academic writing and an inviting tone and design create a compelling text for both in-the-field, practicing youth workers and undergraduates and graduate students.
Book Synopsis Leading the Young People with the Word and the Spirit by : Witness Lee
Download or read book Leading the Young People with the Word and the Spirit written by Witness Lee and published by Living Stream Ministry. This book was released on 2024-03-25 with total page 132 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: In leading the young people, there are two indispensable aspects: spiritual knowledge and spiritual life. The spiritual content we impart into our young people must be related to both aspects, and we should not lean too much toward one or the other; we must be balanced. According to God’s law in the universe, everything is balanced. Thus, in our service with the young brothers and sisters, we should keep the principle of being balanced; we should give the young people knowledge and life in such a way that these aspects interact with each other.
