Download or read book Truth Plus Love written by Matt Brown and published by Zondervan. This book was released on 2019-04-23 with total page 209 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Imagine what our world might look like if Christians became known for remarkable love, as well as life-giving truth. The stakes are high and the need is great for Christians to represent Jesus to a watching world. And today, we have more influence than ever before--for better and for worse. We are among the first generations to have access to a global megaphone through social media. But it's not enough to speak truth louder to a noisy culture. To counter the reputation Christians have earned, our love must be just as loud. Ask evangelist Matt Brown, and he will tell you Christians today are facing a crisis of influence. In our rush to speak truth to today's tensions, cultural issues, and trending controversies, it becomes all too easy to focus on proving our points rather than extending God's grace. Conversely, when we seek only to love yet never proclaim a better way, we short-circuit God's plan. Truth Plus Love invites you to rediscover the biblical framework for engaging culture as ambassadors of Christ. Through biblical insight, cultural analysis, and practical principles, Matt Brown outlines how to champion truth without compromise, how to love unconditionally, and ultimately, how to step into this great adventure of representing God to the world. It's hard, it's messy, and it's the unfinished project of a lifetime, yet here we find our great adventure: representing God to a watching world.

Book Synopsis The Jesus Way by : Eugene H. Peterson

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Arguing that the way Jesus leads and the way we follow are symbiotic, Peterson begins with a study of how the ways of those who came before Christ revealed and prepared the way of the Lord that became complete in Jesus. He then challenges the ways of the contemporary American church, showing in stark relief how what we have chosen to focus on--consumerism, celebrity, charisma, and so forth--obliterates what is unique in the Jesus way.
Book Synopsis I Am the Way, the Truth, and the Life (Pack of 25) by : Billy Graham
Download or read book I Am the Way, the Truth, and the Life (Pack of 25) written by Billy Graham and published by Good News Publishers. This book was released on 2016-08-31 with total page pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Over the years I have talked to thousands of people who have asked me how to find their way to God. Some have sat in church pews all their lives but never come to personally know God. Others have sought for ultimate meaning in all sorts of ways but never found the peace of mind for which they were searching. Some simply realize that there is something vital missing in their lives. The Bible teaches that this sense of lostness is rooted in the fact that we live in a fallen world. We are all handicapped by a sin nature: "All have sinned and fall short of the glory of God" (Romans 3:23). And despite our best efforts, we are unable to remove the haunting weight of guilt that separates us from our Creator. God sent his Son to solve the dilemma caused by our sin. "God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life" (John 3:16). Jesus Christ made the way to God for us by his death on the cross. He purchased our salvation by the shedding of his blood. His death and resurrection made a new and everlasting covenant between God and humanity. Jesus told his disciples, "I am the way, and the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me" (John 14:6). He did not merely point the way to God. He himself claimed to be the only way to the Father and the source of eternal truth and life. The way to God is through personal faith in Jesus Christ. Intellectual acceptance of Christ is not enough. You must come to him determined to turn from what displeases him, with a total trust in Christ's saving power for you. Christ promises those who turn to him: "Whoever hears my word and believes him who sent me has eternal life. He does not come into judgment, but has passed from death to life" (John 5:24). Today you can come to him by surrendering your life and heart to Christ. The Bible says: "To all who did receive him [Jesus Christ], who believed in his name, he gave the right to become children of God" (John 1:12). Right where you are you can pray something like this: Lord, I know that I have sinned and need your forgiveness. I believe that Jesus Christ died for me and rose from the dead. I invite you into my life to be my Lord and Savior. If you sincerely put your faith in Christ, God promises not only to forgive you, but also to adopt you into his family. It's the greatest gift you will ever receive!
Book Synopsis Jesus "The Way, The Truth and The Life" by : Thd Bish
Download or read book Jesus "The Way, The Truth and The Life" written by Thd Bish and published by Xulon Press. This book was released on 2011 with total page 480 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: "Jesus - The Way, The Truth and The Life" will prove that Jesus is the only Way to God, the very embodiment of all Truth and the very essence of Life, just as He declared of Himself in the fourteenth chapter and sixth verse of the gospel of John by saying, "I am the way, the truth, and the life and that no one comes to the Father except through Me." This book will show using systematic theology, proofs and truth arguments that Jesus is exactly who He says He is, confirmed by God the Father, the Holy Spirit and by Christ Himself. Jesus said in Mark 8; 27 of scripture "Who do you say I Am." This book will make it obvious why you must answer this pointed question just as Peter did in claiming to Jesus that "You are the Christ, the Son of the Living God". Time is getting short and Jesus is on His way back to earth. It's not a time to be confused or wrong on issues having eternal consequences. Though the book reads as a college textbook it forces you to think and study the word of God. The book is most valuable in a curriculum setting or for those interested in Christian apologetics. Jesus is compared to a myriad of other secular philosophies both past and present and as a result it is conclusively obvious that Jesus is the way, truth and the life and all others are false. This book stands on the foundation that a relationship with God thru Christ is by faith alone (Sola Fide), by grace alone (Sola Gratia), by Christ alone (Solus Christus), by scripture alone (Sola Scriptura) and with glory to God alone (Soli Deo Gloria). Dr. Ronald N Bish, ThD. received his Doctorate from Freedom Bible College in Systematic Theology and Apologetics and also holds a Master Degree in Mechanical Engineering. The Way to Follow the Way is a step by step instruction manual in learning to follow Jesus who is the Way, using the same methods He used to teach His disciples. Why do people struggle with their old sinful nature? What actually changes when youre born again? How do you receive everything you need for life and godliness? What were the final instructions of Jesus? These questions and many more will be answered with clear, concise and detailed information. It begins with why we believe in the God of creation, quickly explains the knowledge explosion Daniel prophesied would happen in the last days, then proceeds to the first steps a Christian takes and continues all the way through with how to make more disciples the same way Jesus did. After Jesus ascended back to Heaven and the disciples started to spread the Gospel, they went about praising God and enjoying the goodwill of all the people. And each day the Lord added to their fellowship those who were being saved. Wouldnt you like to have the ability to positively influence the people where you live? www.omega-ministries.com

Book Synopsis The Way, the Truth, and the Life: The Way by : Rev. Charles Thomas Comella
Download or read book The Way, the Truth, and the Life: The Way written by Rev. Charles Thomas Comella and published by Christian Faith Publishing, Inc.. This book was released on 2016-10-14 with total page 346 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The earliest Christian church was called The Way. It was called this because Jesus Christ's advent, life, death, and resurrection did not focus upon theology as such or doctrines as such or upon achieving warm, fuzzy feelings as such. Jesus's teachings and life were all focused upon a way of life. A way of life focused upon a relationship with God, and a way of life focused upon our relationships with our fellow men and women. Jesus shined a spotlight on how we are to live yearly, weekly, daily, act by act, step by step, decision by decision under the watchful eyes of a gracious, loving God who knows us and calls us by name. Even Jesus's death and resurrection were pointers revealing the way, the way of the journey we will all take one day. This small book is called The Way because it focuses, as Jesus did, upon the how-tos needed to cope with an increasingly irreligious, if not anti-Christian culture. How do I deal with fear? How do I deal with my guilt? How do I? From my observation and experience, these are the questions in the mind of the man or woman in the pew. There are ways. There is a way. They were pioneered for us by Jesus. He and his way is The Way.
