Book Synopsis The Train-Of-Thought Writing Method by : Kathi Macias
Download or read book The Train-Of-Thought Writing Method written by Kathi Macias and published by AuthorHouse. This book was released on 2005-02-14 with total page 98 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: It is said that writing is 10 percent inspiration and 90 percent perspiration. I absolutely agree, and Im sure most successful writers would echo my sentiments: Inspiration is the easy part. Over the years I have spoken with and taught beginning writers from all around the world, in all sorts of settings. I have helped them review, edit, and rewrite their work, and I have found one common thread among those would-be writers who eventually become published authors: They are willing to devote themselves to the not-so-easy part of writingthe 90 percent perspiration. As I worked with these many writers I discovered what I consider to be the simplest and most practical writing method availablethe train-of-thought method. This excellent, well known writing method did not originate with me, but it seems no one had ever taken the time to put the method in book form. I therefore decided to do so myself. This is not a book about proper grammar or punctuation, or how best to choose the voice or set the scene for your great American novel. There are already countless books covering those subjects, if thats what youre looking for. But if you want to know how best to take your thoughts and dreams and put them into a clear, compelling, readable manuscript, then this is the book for you. Having personally seen the train-of-thought writing method help so many new writers learn to organize, write, and polish their ideas into successful manuscripts, I offer this book to those who would do the same. May it direct and encourage you as you enter into the 90 percent perspiration phase of your writing careerthe serious phase through which true writers are formed.

A longtime Amtrak passenger train conductor, Drawdy delivers an insider's tell-all in his politically incorrect memoir of the railroad back in the day when the only thing that changed for sure was that they took the signs down, diversity and harassment were just words in the dictionary, and only a few dared to come out of the closet. Download or read book Train of Thought written by Mark Williams and published by eBook Partnership. This book was released on 2012-09-20 with total page 137 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Train of Thought is a book of poetry that started life as a bit of fun as the author filled some spare time at work. Realizing his potential he took to writing poems on his train journey to work. As described in the opening poem "e;Train of Thought"e; he uses his forty five minute train journey into work to put down his thoughts into rhyming verse creating pleasing stories that are guaranteed to raise a smile. By his own admission some were more difficult to write as he analytically describes the changes he noted following his son's two tours in Afghanistan as a serving member of the 3rd Battalion the Parachute regiment. His poems explore his inner thoughts focusing on his work, family and pets. Others are descriptive renditions of scenes put into words while some are drawn from the deepest annals of his mind that take you on a wondrous journey of thought. All his work will at least make you think, smile, laugh and maybe draw a tear. The author is Mark Williams a forty seven year old Civil Engineer. Born in Liverpool in 1965 his childhood was a happy one tainted by the misery of his parent's broken marriage and frequent fighting. His attempt to capture this time in his poem "e;Scream"e; is possibly his most moving and compelling piece of work to date. This book is dedicated to Lewis Hendry, good friend and 3rd Battalion the Parachute regiment colleague of the author's son. Lewis was killed in action on a 2010/11 tour in Afghanistan two days before his 21st birthday.
