Book Synopsis The Tabernacle's Typical Teaching by : Algernon James Pollock
Download or read book The Tabernacle's Typical Teaching written by Algernon James Pollock and published by Scripture Truth. This book was released on 2009-07 with total page 238 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Algernon James Pollock's classic volume is an exposition of "types" - people, places, objects, events, offices, activities and institutions - connected with the Tabernacle, the Priesthood, the Offerings and the Feasts (particularly as described in the first five books of the Old Testament) which foreshadow their corresponding New Testament "antitypes" - most particularly Christ Himself. The author wrote in a postscript to the first edition: "The reward of this modest volume will be if it whets the appetite of the reader, leading him to desire to know more of these wondrous subjects. The theme is delightful indeed as it leads the heart into contact with Christ, subduing it by a deepening sense of the meaning of the death of Christ, leading out at the same time the affections of the heart to Him to Whom the believer owes everything for time and eternity." Elsewhere he once wrote: "We appeal to our readers, especially young men and women, to give the Bible a fair trial. Read it, study it, and seek earnestly the truth." The publishers commend this book to you as an aid to such study, confident that as you read, your appreciation will grow of the wonder of the One who is indeed the Tabernacle's true Theme, and is Himself the Truth.

Download or read book The Tabernacle written by Eric J. Bouchoc and published by AMG Publishers. This book was released on 2012-05-07 with total page 64 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This book was birthed out of a desire to transform the words of scripture into lifelike visual imagery. Though there is no way of knowing exactly what the tabernacle may have looked like, we do have subtle descriptions of most everything mentioned. So, as you read through this and examine the images contained inside, allow your heart to be touched by the Spirit of the Lord. Allow this book to be a vessel that brings you closer to the Lord through an experience of heartfelt worship, a longing to be in His presence and a desire to know Him more. My prayer is that this book will be an inspiration for you to open God's word and examine the scriptures for yourself; that these pages will give you a moment of illumination that will forever change the way you look at God's Word.

He includes an important discussion of the words and actions of Christ in their biblical and historical context, to determine what conclusions can validly be inferred about Jesus and sexuality. This book contains suggestions for further reading and a complete list of biblical references to homosexuality. Book Synopsis Kabbalistic Teachings of the Female Prophets by : J. Zohara Meyerhoff Hieronimus

This book was released on 2008-07-21 with total page 333 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The spiritual teachings of Israel’s biblical prophetesses from a kabbalistic perspective • Explores the lives and symbolic significance of seven female prophets: Sarah, Miriam, Devorah, Chanah, Avigail, Chuldah, and Esther • Uses the gematria of Jewish metaphysics to demonstrate that prophecy is a mystical initiatory path by which Divine Will is made known, not only a tool for telling the future • Presents practical applications of kabbalistic teachings for spiritual development The seven prophetesses of Israel--Sarah, Miriam, Devorah, Chanah, Avigail, Chuldah, and Esther--lived between 1800 and 350 BCE. Their combined lives reflect a kabbalistic path of spiritual evolution that is as pertinent to our lives today as it was for the biblical communities in which they lived. From her studies of the Torah and classical gematria, Zohara Hieronimus shows that each prophetess is linked to a Sefirah on the kabbalistic Tree of Life: from creation (Sarah) through learning correct moral action (Devorah) to the promise of redemption and ultimately resurrection (Esther). Using the stories of their lives and teachings, Hieronimus reveals the relationship of each prophetess to the seven days of the week, the seven sacred species of Israel, the human body, and Jewish holidays and rituals. This book presents the kabbalistic teachings of these holy women and what they reveal about the initiatory path of individual development and redemption. The seven prophetesses show that every person has a part to play in the repair of the world, and Hieronimus gives a practical set of maps and spiritual guidelines for that journey.

Book Synopsis Moses the Reluctant Leader by : Ralph F Wilson
Download or read book Moses the Reluctant Leader written by Ralph F Wilson and published by . This book was released on 2011-04-01 with total page 236 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Moses pioneered a Spirit-led leadership paradigm that Christian leaders do well to emulate today Moses didn't want to be a leader. He had been raised as a prince of Egypt, but now at 80, he was content to be a simple shepherd, watching sheep on the slopes of Sinai. Then, God spoke from the burning bush and Moses' world changed. How do you lead a multitude of people through impossible situations, badgered by a storm of criticism from within the camp, and threatened by deadly peril from without? Moses the reluctant leader has much to teach both disciples and leaders today. This Bible study leads you through Moses' life covering several chapters in each lesson so you can see the big picture. It slows down, however, to examine key passages in Exodus and Numbers that give insight into God's instruction to Moses. One lesson surveys the tabernacle, the priesthood, and the sacrifices that God revealed through Moses. This book explores Moses' life in 9 lessons with discussion questions, and can be used for personal enrichment, by small groups and classes, and by teachers and preachers for sermon preparation.
Book Synopsis The Tabernacle Pre-figured by : L. Michael Morales
Download or read book The Tabernacle Pre-figured written by L. Michael Morales and published by Peeters Pub & Booksellers. This book was released on 2012 with total page 345 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: In the ancient Near East, where cosmos and cult were of a piece, temples were the architectural embodiment of the cosmic mountain. This monograph explores how the mountain narratives of the Hebrew Bible canonically preceding the establishment of the tabernacle cultus may therefore serve to prefigure that cultus. Examining the creation, deluge, and exodus accounts in light of cosmic mountain ideology, the study develops a cosmogonic pattern of being delivered through the waters to the mountain of God for worship. As a symbol for approaching the divine Presence, this pattern is ultimately cultic, and includes a gate liturgy running as an undercurrent through each narrative. Moses alone, for example, is permitted ascent to the summit of Sinai, a role later mimicked by the high priest's annual entrance into the holy of holies. From Adam's descent of the holy mountain to the high priest's "ascent" of the architectural mountain of God, The Tabernacle Prefigured makes a compelling case that to dwell in the divine Presence via the tabernacle cultus presents a mediated return to the original telos of the cosmos.
