It’s soft and natural charm is the result of native Irishmen resisting the huge industrial revolution that has changed lives within the short span of our diminutive existences. The Emerald Isle is a refuge from the unbridled growth of material things. Time will undoubtedly take this last resort, but there are those of us who have advantaged ourselves with an affair of the heart - a sojourn with Ireland! The Author

Sometimes marketed as a book in the Anne Shirley series, Anne plays only a minor role in the book. Further Chronicles of Avonlea is a sequel to Chronicles of Avonlea. Published in 1920, it includes a number of stories relating to the inhabitants of Avonlea and its region. The Road to Yesterday is a collection of rediscovered short stories first published in 1974. The basis of this collection is a typescript by L.M. Montgomery entitled "The Blythes Are Quoted" that was found in her surviving papers by her son, Dr. E. Stuart Macdonald. The typescript consisted of a mix of short stories, poems, and vignettes.
