This was the strait traversed by Europa, the sister of Kadmus, when she came on a bull from Asia to Europe, bringing with her the knowledge accumulated by the Eastern sons of Assu or Asia, the mountain (as) land of the rising sun; knowledge which was commemorated in the names of her sons Minos, the measurer (min), Rhadamanthus, the judge or diviner (mantha), who judges by the rod (rhodon), and Sarpedon, the cleanser, from sair, sar, to sweep,3 the collector of facts. Their teachings were to be imparted to the people of Europe, the Western land, Ereb,4 by the bull race, the sons of the bull Taurus, the revolving pole, Tur. It was this ploughing-bull of Kadmus the arranger, the god of the East (kedem), which first civilised the land of the West, Ereb, and the evening sun. And it was as the tamer of the bull that, as I have already shown l when writing of this myth, that he was made king of Boeotia, the land of the ploughing-ox (/3o )?), by Athene, the goddess of the Eastern olive-tree, and became parent of the sons of the seed-grain, whose husk was Helle, the sister of Phryxus, the ripe seed. 1 Mahabharata Adi (Sambhava) Parva, xcv. p. 284. It was this conception which made the goddess Sar, the husk-mother of the seed-grain, the withered husk of the historical myth of Abram, the sun-god, and Sara. 2 The Ruling Races of Prehistoric Times, Essay i., p. 37. 3 Ibid. 4 The name Ereb (meaning the West), the Hebrew ereb, or erev, the evening, is preserved in the Arab names of the land conquered by them in North-west Africa and Spain, called El Gharb, Maghreb, Algarves. Leaving the useless husk behind, Phryxus, the seed barley, was borne by the rain to Ea, on the Phasis, the city of the metal-workers, who first used copper, .

Book excerpt: The Apocalypse of Enoch and Bhuśunda The Apocalypse of Enoch and Bhuśunda challenges the underlying assumptions of the classical roots of civilization by restoring the original context of creation mythology. In this second volume of A Chronology of the Primeval Gods and the Western Sunrise, ancient myths from multiple geographies are correlated to spikes in cosmic rays over the past 120,000 years – as documented in ice core data. The chronology and content of these myths tell us that the primary forces behind these cataclysms were the most ancient gods - hyper-nova at the Galactic Center associated with Sgr A*(The Dragon), Sgr West (The Beast) and Sgr East (Hiranyâksha and Hiranyakas'ipu), with secondary supernova seen as the birth of new, destructive gods. Ancient myth has documented the cataclysmic destruction of the world on at least twenty occasions with four major geo-polar migrations, which has resulted in a shift of the earth’s equator on at least one occasion. Multiple myths are shown to represent a view of the sky that can only be seen from the Antarctic region. Multiple versions of the myths of Orion are analyzed, showing clear linkages between the Vedic myth of Trisanku, the Book of Genesis, Senmut's Tomb, and the myths of Prajāpati Daksa representing the oldest version of the Orion myth – older than Trishanku and Genesis by 20,000 years! The stunning conclusion explains how the “Watchers” of Enoch were the Vedic descendants of Ila and Iksvaku. These descendants of the seventh Manu had been observing and recording the stars as a source of cataclysm for at least 15,000 years prior to Enoch, thus allowing Enoch to prophesize a ‘new heaven.’ That prophecy became the foundation for St John’s Book of Revelations, which is shown to be a description of a series of cataclysms attributed to Sgr West. The book offers a new theory for explaining geo-polar migration. That theory suggests small shifts in the location of the earth’s center of gravity underlie each migration, but that there are multiple causes for the shifts.

Book excerpt: Although little known, cannabis and other psychoactive plants held a prominent and important role in the Occult arts of Alchemy and Magic, as well as being used in ritual initiations of certain secret societies. Find out about the important role cannabis played in helping to develop modern medicines through alchemical works. Cannabis played a pivotal role in spagyric alchemy, and appears in the works of alchemists such as Zosimos, Avicenna, Llull, Paracelsus, Cardano and Rabelais. Cannabis also played a pivotal role in medieval and renaissance magic and recipes with instructions for its use appear in a number of influential and important grimoires such as the Picatrix, Sepher Raxiel: Liber Salomonis, and The Book of Oberon. Could cannabis be the Holy Grail? With detailed historical references, the author explores the allegations the Templars were influenced by the hashish ingesting Assassins of medieval Islam, and that myths of the Grail are derived from the Persian traditions around the sacred beverage known as haoma, which was a preparation of cannabis, opium and other drugs. Many of the works discussed, have never been translated into English, or published in centuries. The unparalleled research in this volume makes it a potential perennial classic on the subjects of both medieval and renaissance history of cannabis, as well as the role of plants in the magical and occult traditions.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The purpose of this book is to describe the problems posed in the formulation of international rules for bays at the present time, to investigate the history of the several interests that have influenced the development of such rules, to trace the efforts that have been made to codify the rules, and to suggest a further refinement of the rules. This book seeks to combine the fruits of the writer's experience as a navigator with those of his studies in international law, geography, history and economics. Although, after study and thought upon the subject, there is likely to arise an initial desire to write a work that is truly definitive, one must resign himself to something of lesser scope. That being so, there is, if anything, an increased demand upon the writer to exercise careful judgment in his research, and in his exposition of the subject. This writer can only hope that he has discharged this responsi bility to the degree that his efforts will have clarified some issues and that what he has set on paper may be of some assistance to others. This writer has attempted to be as objective as possible in his inter pretations, and he has made no attempt to defend the policy of any State. In so doing, he is weil aware of the fact that for broader policy reasons, some of the views expressed herein cannot be officiaily accept ed as bases for action.
