Jewish humor is fascinated by logic and intricacies of the mind as well as the short elliptical path that separates the absurd from the rational. As a religious or social commentary, Jewish humor tends to be resigned, complaining, descriptive or sarcastic. At times, the humor's point is actually more powerful than the laugh that it delivers and for several of these jokes, the right response is not really laughter but instead, a consoling sigh of recognition or a bitter nod. The didactic can preclude laughing for free similar with slapstick humor that derives the laughter from the misfortune of other people. There is no doubt that Jewish humor is an interesting thing that continues to fascinate people from all parts of the world, whether they are Jewish or not.
