Book excerpt: "A breathtaking tale of passion and adventure in the untamed skies " Prosperity, 1863: a lawless skytown where varlets, chancers, and ne'er-do-wells risk everything to chase a fortune in the clouds, and where a Gaslight guttersnipe named Piccadilly is about to cheat the wrong man. This mistake will endanger his life . . . and his heart. "Thrill "As our hero battles dreadful kraken above Prosperity. "Gasp " As the miracles of clockwork engineering allow a dead man to wreak his vengeance upon the living. "Marvel "At the aerial escapades of the aethership, "Shadowless." "Beware "The licentious and unchristian example set by the opium-addled navigatress, Miss Grey. "Disapprove Strongly "Of the utter moral iniquity of the dastardly crime prince, Milord. "Swoon " At the dashing skycaptain, Byron Kae. "Swoon Again " At the tormented clergyman, Ruben Crowe. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: In her latest book, author and intuitive consultant Lynn A. Robinson lights the path to prosperity by showing her readers how to access their true dreams and passions and how to tap into their personal wells of abundance. Refreshingly down to earth and rich with humor, compassion, and compelling tales of success, Real Prosperity points its readers to financial and spiritual prosperity with sage advice, true stories, inspirational quotes, and quick, practical exercises that add a valuable "how to" factor not often found in this genre. At a time when Americans are sinking into a quagmire of debt and the deeper meaning of life seems to elude even the well off, this wonderful new book offers relief and promises to help its readers chart a course to a richer, more abundant life. This is not a get-rich-quick or pray-your-way-to-wealth book. Nor is it a book about financial planning and debt reduction. It is, instead, an inspiring and uplifting guide that delivers hope, not hype; workable lessons, not foolish philosophy. In other words, it's a book that can work magic in your life. Read it and you'll agree.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Over the years, John Ntui has written so many articles on Christian apologetics and defense from false teachers. On his journey, he became increasingly aware that Christianity is being ravaged by the prosperity gospels, so John decided, as a theologian and pastor, to confront the heresy of his age where Christianity is being reduced by a group of sophist to a mere meal ticket. He then decided to write in order to correct the influence of a defective Christianity in the minds of those who truly desire to know God. Join Pastor John on a ride to uncover the tricks of these false prophets who are ravaging the Gospel for their own gain and taking the lead of spreading the gospel from Africa to ends of the earth. Americans, in their quest for a flamboyant lifestyle, invented the prosperity gospels; and Nigerians, consumed by their lust, are spreading it to the ends of the earth (John Ntui-Abung).

Book excerpt: The book is the volume of “Prosperity in Sui and Tang Dynasties” among a series of books of “Chinese Dynastic History”. The earliest known written records of the history of China date from as early as 1250 BC, from the Shang dynasty (c. 1600–1046 BC) and the Bamboo Annals (296 BC) describe a Xia dynasty (c. 2070–1600 BC) before the Shang, but no writing is known from the period The Shang ruled in the Yellow River valley, which is commonly held to be the cradle of Chinese civilization. However, Neolithic civilizations originated at various cultural centers along both the Yellow River and Yangtze River. These Yellow River and Yangtze civilizations arose millennia before the Shang. With thousands of years of continuous history, China is one of the world's oldest civilizations, and is regarded as one of the cradles of civilization. The Zhou dynasty (1046–256 BC) supplanted the Shang and introduced the concept of the Mandate of Heaven to justify their rule. The central Zhou government began to weaken due to external and internal pressures in the 8th century BC, and the country eventually splintered into smaller states during the Spring and Autumn period. These states became independent and warred with one another in the following Warring States period. Much of traditional Chinese culture, literature and philosophy first developed during those troubled times. In 221 BC Qin Shi Huang conquered the various warring states and created for himself the title of Huangdi or "emperor" of the Qin, marking the beginning of imperial China. However, the oppressive government fell soon after his death, and was supplanted by the longer-lived Han dynasty (206 BC – 220 AD). Successive dynasties developed bureaucratic systems that enabled the emperor to control vast territories directly. In the 21 centuries from 206 BC until AD 1912, routine administrative tasks were handled by a special elite of scholar-officials. Young men, well-versed in calligraphy, history, literature, and philosophy, were carefully selected through difficult government examinations. China's last dynasty was the Qing (1644–1912), which was replaced by the Republic of China in 1912, and in the mainland by the People's Republic of China in 1949. Chinese history has alternated between periods of political unity and peace, and periods of war and failed statehood – the most recent being the Chinese Civil War (1927–1949). China was occasionally dominated by steppe peoples, most of whom were eventually assimilated into the Han Chinese culture and population. Between eras of multiple kingdoms and warlordism, Chinese dynasties have ruled parts or all of China; in some eras control stretched as far as Xinjiang and Tibet, as at present. Traditional culture, and influences from other parts of Asia and the Western world (carried by waves of immigration, cultural assimilation, expansion, and foreign contact), form the basis of the modern culture of China.

Ultimately, this divine fire is intended to kindle within us a passion for God and for doing his will. The FireBible's notes and commentary will show readers how the spiritual empowerment that began at Pentecost is available today, and is a gift to modern followers of Christ. This unique volume's detailed book introductions, notes, and other features will greatly benefit anyone interested in living the Christian life in the fullness of the Spirit.

Book excerpt: Since its launch in 2006, the Hamilton Project at Brookings has produced extensive research on how to create a growing economy that benefits all Americans. Its pragmatic work aims to increase opportunities for broad-based wealth, economic security, and enduring growth. Path to Prosperity, the first book to emerge from the Hamilton Project, presents important and original work to that end. P ath to Prosperity focuses on three key criteria for fostering broadly shared economic growth: enhancing economic security, building a highly skilled work force, and reforming the tax system. Income security proposals offer methods for reforming unemployment insurance, protecting against the risk of reemployment at a lower wage after job loss, and improving incentives for retirement saving. Education proposals build human capital by improving each level of education, from preschool programs for poor children to graduate fellowships in math and science. The tax proposals seek to make taxation simpler, more progressive, and better suited to a global economy. Contributors include Roger C.Altman, Reuven S.Avi-Yonah, Jason E. Bordoff, Kimberly A.
