Book Synopsis Church and the Tribulation by : Robert H. Gundry
Download or read book Church and the Tribulation written by Robert H. Gundry and published by Zondervan Academic. This book was released on 2010-08-03 with total page 230 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: In the opening chapter, Robert Gundry states, "It is hoped that the following pages will contribute to an understanding and appreciation of the posttribulational position and that it will do so in a manner characterized by 'wisdom from above. . . First pure, then peaceable, gentle, reasonable, full of mercy and good fruits, unwavering, without hypocrisy' (James 3:17)." In keeping with this expressed desire, the author presents his thesis regarding Christ's second coming, not as a polemical argument, but as a reasonable and tenable position. This book propounds the thesis that Jesus will return after the tribulation and that the first resurrection will occur at that time. Dr. Gundry believes that biblical evidence points most naturally to this conclusion. Because of his discerning analysis of Scripture, his careful logic, and the thoughtful presentation of his views, he is one of today's leading spokesmen for posttribulational eschatology.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The rapture--or the belief that Jesus' living followers will, at some point, join him forever while others do not--is an important but contested doctrine among evangelicals. Scholars generally hold one of three perspectives on the timing and circumstances of the rapture, all of which are presented in this important volume of the Counterpoints series, Three Views on the Rapture: Alan D. Hultberg (PhD, Trinity International University and professor of New Testament at Talbot School of Theology) explains the Pre-Wrath view. Craig Blaising (PhD, Dallas Theological Seminary and president of Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary) defends the Pre-Tribulation view. Douglas Moo (PhD, University of St. Andrews and professor of New Testament at Wheaton College) sets forth the Post-Tribulation view. Each author provides a substantive explanation of his position, which is critiqued by the other two authors. A thorough introduction gives a historical overview of the doctrine of the rapture and its effects on the church. The interactive and fair-minded format of the Counterpoints series allows readers to consider the strengths and weaknesses of each view and draw informed, personal conclusions.

Download or read book The Rapture Exposed written by Barbara R. Rossing and published by Basic Books. This book was released on 2007-03-30 with total page 242 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The idea of "The Rapture" -- the return of Christ to rescue and deliver Christians off the earth -- is an extremely popular interpretation of the Bible's Book of Revelation and a jumping-off point for the best-selling "Left Behind" series of books. This interpretation, based on a psychology of fear and destruction, guides the daily acts of thousands if not millions of people worldwide. In The Rapture Exposed, Barbara Rossing argues that this script for the world's future is nothing more than a disingenuous distortion of the Bible. The truth, Rossing argues, is that Revelation offers a vision of God's healing love for the world. The Rapture Exposed reclaims Christianity from fundamentalists' destructive reading of the biblical story and back into God's beloved community.

Book Synopsis The Rapture: A Pre- or Post-Tribulation Event? by : Colleen Wandmacher
Download or read book The Rapture: A Pre- or Post-Tribulation Event? written by Colleen Wandmacher and published by Christian Faith Publishing, Inc.. This book was released on 2023-07-27 with total page 120 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: God tells us not to be deceived about the timing of us being caught up to meet Jesus in the air, an event Christians refer to as the rapture. He would not have said that unless there was going to be an avalanche of false teaching with regard to the timing of the rapture in the sequence of end-time events. Diligently studying pertinent Scriptures in God's Word is the only way one can be free of deception and be spiritually prepared for the times that may befall us. This book helps the reader to deeply study the Word of God to see the truth. "I've read a large number of books on the rapture debate, and in my opinion, this excellent book is by far the best. While reading this book I felt like my spiritual glasses were being cleaned so I could see the simplicity of the truth of scripture again. Well done, Colleen. Marvelous! Five gold stars from me." "I have read several books about the rapture and end-time prophecy including Pre-Tribulation and Mid-Tribulation, and when I come across this book, it was so clear, logical, and well-written based solely on the scripture that I could grasp the subject clearly and convincingly which has helped me tremendously in making up my mind where to stand on the subject of the timing of the rapture at the end time. Really recommended."
Download or read book 3 Raptures written by Michael Flipp and published by . This book was released on 2020-04-21 with total page 74 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Do you believe in the Rapture? If you do, you are probably most likely a Pre Trib or Post Trib believer. The Great Tribulation period is during a time of God's Wrath on the world and after this period, Jesus comes back to rule for 1000 years with some of His Saints. For all of my Christian walk with God, I was a Post Trib believer. But God gave me a dream that shook me to my core, and since then, I have been studying the Book of Revelation. God revealed some things to me that I had been praying for; understanding of His Raptures and His return. And what I have learned shocked me! I was shown something that I have never been taught before nor had I even ever heard preached by anyone. And what that was is that not only was their indeed going to be a Post tribulation Rapture, but a Pre Tribulation one and a Post Milennial one as well! 3 Raptures! I was astonished, I was like, what? But it is the only thing that makes sense to reconcile the scriptures so that they all flow in unison. I bring up a case by case narrative with proofs for the 3 Raptures and I think you will agree that if this teaching had been around years ago, Christians would not have been divided over this issue for all of these past years. For some reason God is choosing to reveal this rapture teaching more clearly than has been done in the past, but I am sure that others have taught it before, it just has never become popular into the mainstream. My hope is that this teaching will bring believers together, to bring the lost to Christ and to bring Glory to God. In these end times, may His Truth prevail and never be overcome. In Jesus name, Amen.

Book Synopsis Exposing the Fallacies of the Pre-Tribulation Rapture by : Billy Broadwater
Download or read book Exposing the Fallacies of the Pre-Tribulation Rapture written by Billy Broadwater and published by WestBow Press. This book was released on 2014-06-20 with total page 349 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The Pretribulation Rapture theory has had a foothold on many Christians in America for over a hundred years. This teaching is not allowed to be challenged in many Christian circles. Exposing the Fallacies of the Pretribulation Rapture takes the building blocks of this theory and dismantles them one by one in a serious, thought-provoking analogy of this doctrine. Is the seven year tribulation really a biblical term? Is the church literally raptured in Revelation chapter 4? Are there signs that precede the return of Christ? Is the rapture really an invisible event? Are Christians exempt from tribulation? Where did the true roots of the pretribulation rapture come from? What does the day of the Lord have to do with the rapture? These questions and many more are answered in Exposing the Fallacies of the Pre-Tribulation Rapture. Not only is there a thorough examination of the rapture, but also a detailed account is given of the numerous discrepancies among leading pretribulation teachers over Bible passages on the second coming. Billy Broadwaters in-depth Bible based research for over twenty-years brings home the truth about the rapture.
Book Synopsis A Case for Historic Premillennialism by : Craig L. Blomberg
Download or read book A Case for Historic Premillennialism written by Craig L. Blomberg and published by Baker Academic. This book was released on 2009-02-01 with total page 174 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Many evangelical readers who have learned the basics of eschatology from popular authors and more recently from novelists assume that dispensational premillennialism, with its distinctive teachings about the pretribulation rapture of the church, is the only reliable view of the end times and the return of Christ. This volume, however, offers a compelling case for an alternative perspective--one that was widely prevalent throughout church history. The contributors, all respected scholars in their respective fields, suggest that classic premillennialism offers believers a more coherent and viable approach to understanding eschatology. Their studies, which examine eschatology from biblical, theological, historical, and missiological approaches, provide a broadly accessible argument for returning to the perspectives of historic premillennial eschatology.
