During his abbacy he wrote thirteen treatises, some offering spiritual guidance and others seeking to advise King Henry II. He also wrote thirty-one sermons as a commentary on Isaiah 13–16 and 182 surviving liturgical sermons, mostly addressed to his monks. This volume contains the second half of Aelred's ninety-eight liturgical sermons from the Reading-Cluny collection, Sermons 134 through 182, as well as Aelred's sermon for the translation of Saint Edward the Confessor in 1163, from the critical edition by Peter Jackson first published in Cistercian Studies Quarterly. For the most part, the collection follows the liturgical year; this volume begins with a sermon for the birth of John the Baptist and ends with three sermons for the feast of All Saints. It contains sixteen Marian sermons as well as a sermon for the birth of Saint Katherine and a sermon for nuns.

Book excerpt: A throne is the centre of authority and rule in any kingdom. Hence the Throne Room of God becomes the centre of God's rule and reign over the universe. Every detail in the throne room gives us an intimate glimpse of God's majesty and splendour. It also reveals His heart and His purpose for mankind. The four living creatures in Rev 4/ Eze 1 before the Throne of God have a great prophetic significance for every believer. As they not only define our calling and purpose but disclose to us the true nature of a born again believer. In this first edition on his teachings on the 'Throne Room of God' Pastor Gill unveils the creature of 'an Ox' in the 'Face of an Ox'. In this ground breaking and revelation word you will explore the prophetic purpose of the Ox, from his stature to his character, from his heavenly purpose to his earthly mandate. You will also be enlightened with an in-depth study on the rise, fall and the restoration of tribe of Ephraim, who Moses referred to as oxen in Deut 33:17. This book redefines the missional mandate of the church and the yoke of Christ upon her as an ox. You will also learn more about the different kinds of muzzles that keep the oxen of God in bondage. This book is a powerful tool in the hand of every believer for spiritual growth, a deeper understanding on the mysteries of the Throne Room of God and understanding his/her place and purpose in the Kingdom of our God. The content of this book will transform your life.
