Even though Wellington hopes to become a scientist and to discover a plant species that treats all diseases, the case forces him to choose between his family and career. Meanwhile, as a world epidemic grows bigger and brighter throughout the globe, and top-secret government leaders encourage Wellington to focus on the case, an old childhood friend, turned enemy, conspires to expose Wellington family’s secret.Luckily, Wellington’s Christian upbringing causes him to lean on his family for refuge when he discovers that the ‘healing soil’ case is more than a medical phenomenon, but a part of a selfish secret that he hides deep inside of his heart. As the epidemic becomes more alarming, Wellington must decide to reveal everything that he knows about the case or protect the one thing that may save the world and his family.

Book excerpt: It’s 1955, when scandalous affairs are never talked about, divorce is rare, a wife is a “homemaker” more often than not, and every Christian home displays its family Bible front and center. Certainly, a well-respected pastor in the conservative city of Muskegon, Michigan, would never be caught in the middle of a heinous secret that could ruin his career and break up his beautiful marriage and family. Or would he? When Henry Griffin was stationed in occupied Japan in the mid-1940s, he met Rina Hamada, a Japanese woman who fell head over heels for him. Despite having a young wife and baby daughter waiting at home in the States, Henry had too much to drink one night, and one thing led to another… He knew it was wrong. He struggled with guilt and expressed his resistance, but she professed her love and continued to pursue him. Now, ten years later, a letter from Japan arrives and threatens to upend Henry’s world. What to do and how to tell his wife are just the beginning of his troubles. Tough questions about faith, redemption, and preserving his reputation bring us here, under the shade of The Mercy Tree.

They were written for all God's people to edify every reader. Each verse has been sung by the voices of the Holy Spirit and the Psalmist which was received partially or fully in the heart of the Writer from the Holy Ghost as a gift of love not just for the Lord's ears, the Psalmist's ears, but for all God's people's ears. Book excerpt: Take a fresh look around you with eyes that cut through the daily distortions and see the undeniable and extravagant goodness of God. There are certain messages today, both outside and inside the church, that have tainted the true message of God’s favor. The reality is God isn’t obligated to provide good things for us—but He wants to! This is your opportunity to adopt a favor-minded mentality and realize that God’s favor, like His grace, is unearned, limitless, and never-ending. And, it’s for us! In Good Things, Kevin Gerald invites you to become a good finder. This book will equip you to: ● Discover that the goodness of God exceeds the pain of life’s hardship. ● Know how to keep your mind on God’s favor not your failure. ● Recognize that Grace and Favor are so intertwined you can’t separate them. ● Apply seven favor dynamics that will help you overcome relationship barriers. ● See what you are certain to overlook until your eyes are trained to see it. It’s time you move forward in confidence, knowing that God is for you. He is always seeking to give you good things, and His favor is forever!

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Forest Prayer is a conversationally steered and character-driven life story with the protagonist growing up and older while looking for the Lord. Having a few Christian mentors and a few mentors who appear to be agnostic, Jerry struggles his whole life through trying to distinguish between what he often feels is an infestation of Christianity along with what he knows is his infatuation with forestry and his obsession with wildlife management. Thinly disguised as Jerry, I had the following supporting characters: Papa, my grandfather and Baptist preacher who was close to God in more ways than one; Uncle Sawyer, my saw boss who insisted that the cure to all our problems was out there in the woods waiting for us to find; Ol' Professor Starlet, who was the forestry teacher who turns out to know more than we first thought when meeting him; the good Dr. Frank, who is perhaps the world's leading international forester; and Patsy, who is my main confidant still today after over fifty years of awesome marriage. Instead of reading or writing fiction or nonfiction, the fun of this genre that I like to call faction is that we get to enjoy living life over again but doing it better. If you share one of these true-life experiences with me for real and recognize my story is more like the way things should have been, it is. Rather than part of a bucket list, this is part of my to-do list of testimonies for Our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. So I ask that those of you who knew me before my life became undergirded with Christianity to please remember that both Colossians and the Lord's Prayer tell us that we are to forgive one another as Christ forgave us. Locations of verses within Bible books are specifically omitted in hopes that it might encourage the reader to spend more personal time in the Good Book for him or herself. As directed by the Holy Bible not to add or take away anything from the Word, I have made that effort to the best of my ability. If I've accidentally missed, added, or misrepresented anything, then I ask that you and God please forgive me. God help me if this causes harm to anyone's faith. Author's liberty includes the following four grammatical variances for the following reasons: #1--incorrect grammar and incorrect spelling are sometimes used to better reflect characters, times, and places. After all, what's not about Christ is about people. #2--italics used all over the place are to emphasize words, phrases, and much more...like out of respect for the various names of God; verses in the Bible; books of the Bible; quotes, whether verbatim or paraphrased; and even sometimes in lieu of quotation marks or for periodic words that rhyme. #3--overuse of ellipsis is because Psalm does say to be still...and it seems the characters in the book often want you to slow down a fraction of a second longer than you might for a mere comma. #4--types or names of trees are capitalized and italicized...as it does take them to make a forest. Other books by Gerald Inmon are Yocona Puff Adder (ISBN 0-9774864-3-5) and Camp Re-Form (ISBN 0-9774864-7-2). First edition books of these two are still available in hardback hard copy by e-mailing to [email protected] or electronically through Amazon Kindle or Barnes and Noble's Book Nook.

The story told is of the author's time spent caring for him after the devastating diagnosis of AIDS. It is told through her journal entries relating his struggle, and how their relationship evolved and seemed cast into something planned ahead of time by a higher power. The personal entries weave dreams, premonitions, prayers, and losses, winding them around their memories to shape their very own world and reason for existence in the pages of this book. It is said to be both moving and hard to lay down.

Book excerpt: Rethinking Nature brings the voices of leading Continental philosophers into discussion about what is emerging as one of our most pressing and timely concerns—the environmental crisis facing our planet. The essays featured in this volume embrace environmental philosophy in its broadest sense and include topics such as environmental ethics, environmental aesthetics, ontology, theology, gender and the environment, and the role of science and technology in forming knowledge about our world. Here, philosophy goes out into the field and comes back with rich insights and new approaches to environmental problems. This far-reaching and lively volume affords firm ground for thinking about the multiple ways that humans engage nature. Contributors are David Abram, Edward S. One of the most important and shocking unveilings in this Holy Book, but profitable to humankind, is the Authentic Date LORD JESUS was born and not the much cerebrated yearly 25 December. The Holy Book, which is packed with first-time unveiling mysteries on CHRIST, gives detailed information about His First, Second and Third (Final) Physical Manifestations in Human Form respectively as ADAM, LORD JESUS and now; HIS HOLINESS OLUMBA OLUMBA OBU of the Brotherhood of the Cross and Star. Beginning from His Heavenly Existence as THE WORD OF THE ALMIGHTY GOD to His Three Times Physical Manifestations; it explained broadly the events that took place before, during and after the fall, death and burial of ADAM. Also, during and after the death of LORD JESUS, as well as the key events that took place subsequently before, during and after His Ascension into Heaven. The different attempts made by Satan the Devil in all His manifestations to discredit and stop CHRIST from obtaining the glory that was kept for Him by Our FATHER GOD before the foundation of this world was laid, are not left out of these unveiling mysteries. Different warnings to the entire humanity as recorded herein show that unless we do away completely with all sinfulness and wicked ways of life, man was heading towards more dangerous and devastating hard times. What every human should expect in no distant time is unveiled, including in-depth information regarding the unavoidable 72 hours of global darkness is herein exposed, as it deepened in revealing how THE CHRIST will be seen in the sky across the Earth, which will be the nal signal to His pending Judgment over the entire creations, including humans and angels. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Collected essays by a leading philosopher situating the question of the animal in the broader context of a relational ontology There is a revolution under way in our thinking about animals and, indeed, life in general, particularly in the West. The very words man, animal, and life have turned into flimsy conceptual husks—impediments to thinking about the issues in which they are embroiled. David Wood was a founding member of the early 1970s Oxford Group of philosophers promoting animal rights; he also directed Ecology Action (UK). Thinking Plant Animal Human is the first collection of this major philosopher’s influential essays on “animals,” bringing together his many discussions of nonhuman life, including the classic “Thinking with Cats.” Exploring our connections with cats, goats, and sand crabs, Thinking Plant Animal Human introduces the idea of “kinnibalism” (the eating of mammals is eating our own kin), reflects on the idea of homo sapiens, and explores the place of animals both in art and in children’s stories. Finally, and with a special focus on trees, the book delves into remarkable contemporary efforts to rescue plants from philosophical neglect and to rethink and reevaluate their status. Repeatedly bubbling to the surface is the remarkable strangeness of other forms of life, a strangeness that extends to the human. Wood shows that the best way of resisting simplistic classification is to attend to our manifold relationships with other living beings. It is not anthropocentric to focus on such relationships; they cast light in complex ways on the living communities of which we are part, and exploring them recoils profoundly on our understanding of ourselves.

Book excerpt: Sitting in this chair, Wondering how I’ll live. Lost in questions, Lost in, “Why?” Through clouded mind, Your quiet voice whispers, “Live, my love, to the full. I did not die! I’m awake! I’m alive!” Grief is a personal journey that is often filled with unexplained emotions and numberless moments of walking side-by-side with Christ, praying for words, wisdom, and answers. In a candid collection of narratives, stories, and poetry shared to help those struggling with loss, Mark Lanford offers an inspirational glimpse into his sometimes lonely, sometimes supported walk through heart-shattering grief after losing his wife of forty-two years. Within his confessional, redemptive, and restorative writings lie forgiveness; a surrendering of trust, faith and freedom; and finally a celebration of life as God—Father, Son, and Holy Spirit—lovingly ministers and guides through every joy, memory, and sorrow. Themes in the Midst chronicles a journey of great loss, immense grace, surrender, and finally profound joy as they interweave to create healing, all with utmost care by the hand of God.
