Download or read book A Man's Man written by Ian Hay and published by DigiCat. This book was released on 2022-11-21 with total page 228 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: A Man's Man is an adventurous comedy with a hint of romance written by Ian Hay. Hay was a British teacher and soldier, but is best reminisced as a novelist, dramatist and essayist. Excerpt: "Take Margate and Douglas and Blackpool, and pile them into an untidy heap; throw in a dozen Fun-Cities from Olympia and half a score of World's Fairs from the Agricultural Hall; add some of the less reputable features of Earl's Court and Neuilly Fair; include a race-course of the baser sort; case the whole in wood, and people it with sallow gentlemen in striped jerseys and ladies answering exclusively to such names as Hattie, Sadie, and Mamie, reared up apparently upon an exclusive diet of peanuts and clam-chowder; keep the whole multitude duly controlled [pg 82]and disciplined by a police force which, if appearances go for anything, has been recruited entirely from the criminal classes; and you will be able faintly to realise what Coney Island can do when it tries on a fine Sunday in summer."

Book Synopsis The Limitless Power of the Mind by : Ifeoma Eze
Download or read book The Limitless Power of the Mind written by Ifeoma Eze and published by Ifeoma Eze. This book was released on 2018-04-21 with total page 39 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Our thoughts are not only things but our thoughts are tangible. Our thoughts are powerful and they frame the triumphs or tragedies of our life. The key to success is developing a winning mentality. We spend a lot of time pursuing the trivial and expecting to be successful. However, we minor on the development of the mind. Reaching your greatest potential is contingent upon rigorous development of the mind. When you unlock the power of the mind you unlock a life of endless possibilities. Few people are aware of the thoughts that pass through their minds. Most thinking is done in an automatic manner. The mind is like a small child, who accepts, and takes for granted, whatever it sees or hears, without judgment and without considering the consequences. If you let your mind behave in this manner, giving it complete freedom to jump from one thought to another, you lose your freedom. We are constantly flooded with thoughts, ideas, and information coming through the five senses, other people, the newspapers, and TV. These thoughts, ideas, and information penetrate the mind, whether we are aware of this process or not. Imagination is the ability to form a mental image of something that is not perceived through the five senses. It is the ability of the mind to build mental scenes, objects or events that do not exist, are not present, or have happened in the past. Everyone possesses a certain degree of imagination ability. The imagination manifests in various degrees in various people. In some, it is highly developed, and in others, it manifests in a weaker form. Imagination makes it possible to experience a whole world inside the mind. It gives the ability to look at any situation from a different point of view and to mentally explore the past and the future. Lack of understanding of the power of the imagination is responsible for the suffering, incompetence, difficulties, failures and unhappiness people experience. For some reason, some people are inclined to think in a negative way. They do not expect success. They expect the worst, and when they fail, they believe that fate is against them. This attitude can be changed, and then will improve accordingly. Understanding how to use your imagination correctly, and putting this knowledge into practice, for your own and other’s benefit, will put you on the golden path to success, satisfaction, and happiness.
