Book excerpt: I got the title The Loving, Living Will of God to His People for this book in 1994, and it details the God of the Old Testament in the Christian Bible and the Torah, as he needs to be thought of. I believe that he should be thought of each day, as he has great powers and angels to help him. He has shown them throughout history, and he wants people to build a temple for him. He didn't like the violence on earth, and that was what caused the great flood. Think about it, water. Too much can cause a flood, and too little causes dry land, crop failures, and fires. Is this because of war situations? I don't have respect for any man who creates war. Did God create famine and disease if people wanted war? Today is May 23, 2018. On May 8, I lost my daughter to terminal cancer. I had grieved greatly before this, and I still do. She told me that she is in heaven and the pain and suffering of the body are gone. I think, Was the United States military responsible? We dropped bombs in foreign countries and killed people. Do we lose one of ours to disease? She left two children of three and five with a father, three grandmothers and other people to teach them. Can we teach our youth a better way?

No explanation is necessary to explain the magnitude of such. This three-volume set is, in fact, the final warning from the Almighty to the inhabitants of the earth before the Rapture takes place. Much of what is contained in this three-volume set is instruction for those inside the house of God, but many of those outside will benefit from its contents too.

Book excerpt: The author of Desiring God reveals the biblical evidence to help us see and savor what the pleasures of God show us about Him. Includes a study guide for individual and small-group use. Isn’t it true—we really don’t know someone until we understand what makes that person happy? And so it is with God! What does bring delight to the happiest Being in the universe? John Piper writes, that it’s only when we know what makes God glad that we’ll know the greatness of His glory. Therefore, we must comprehend “the pleasures of God.” Unlike so much of what is written today, this is not a book about us. It is about the One we were made for—God Himself. In this theological masterpiece—chosen by World Magazine as one of the 20th Century’s top 100 books, John Piper reveals the biblical evidence to help us see and savor what the pleasures of God show us about Him. Then we will be able to drink deeply—and satisfyingly—from the only well that offers living water. What followers of Jesus need now, more than anything else, is to know and love—behold and embrace—the great, glorious, sovereign, happy God of the Bible. “This is a unique and precious book that everybody should read more than once.” —J.I. PACKER, Regent College, Vancouver, British Columbia

Book excerpt: My Living Will is the story of former major league pitcher John Trautwein, and the unbelievable tragedy which befell him and his family when his fifteen-year-old son, Will, took his own life. There had been no warnings, no obvious signs of anxiety, depression, or unhappiness; nothing. A family and a community were left stunned as they pondered how a young man like Will Trautwein, a healthy, happy, popular, athletic, and musical teenager, who came from such a loving home, could lose the will to live. “John Trautwein writes straight from the heart. And his words will save lives. The story Trautwein shares in these pages––a remarkable journey of passion and purpose––will literally save lives.” • Jeffrey Marx, Pulitzer Prize winner and author of Season of Life “John Trautwein’s story inspires hope. It empowers people, and it gives its readers the ‘hope for life.’ The triumph that this story imparts arouses the goodness in everyone as it drives people toward action.” • Joe Girardi, Manager, The New York Yankees “In my twenty-two years of broadcasting, I have told many stories of triumph over tragedy, but the story of Will Trautwein and his family has stayed with me. The loss of such a vibrant young man and the strength of his family to use their heartache to help has had an impact on how I parent my daughter, and how I report stories of teenage depression and suicide. This is a must-read if you have a teenager in your life.” • Stephany Fisher, Anchor, CBS News, Atlanta “Ever wonder if a young person in your own home might be at risk? Read this book. In “My Living Will,” John Trautwein takes the emotions of loss and turns them into a message of awareness and hope. A must read for parents and teenagers alike!” • Dan Shaughnessy, The Boston Globe

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Have you ever wondered what you were created to do? You may think you have an idea, but aren't positive that you are fulfilling the purpose for which God created you. First of all, you have to find the unique purpose that He created you for. In his new book, Andrew Wommack teaches you how to do just that. Once you find the will of God for your life, then you will have the assurance and joy that comes from knowing exactly where God wants you to be. As you follow the will of God for your life, it allows you to set goals and purposely seek after what God has created you to do. Andrew teaches you that the number one way that we learn to follow God's will is to simply put God first. When you put Him first then the desire of your heart changes to match up with His. Lastly, Andrew teaches how to fulfill the will of God in your life. It's one thing to find God's will and start moving in the right direction, but it's something else to stay at it over the long haul. Anybody can start, but it's the people who finish that really make a difference. Finishing is more important than starting, and it is only through faith and patience that you inherit God's promises.

Book excerpt: "You can 'accept Jesus' all you want, but Romans 6:16 teaches us that if you keep on sinning and do not turn to God wholeheartedly, it leads to death," writes author L. Santos. In Holy Life, Santos passionately dismisses the widely-held misconception that being a Christian requires little or no effort on our part, while explaining that the Christian life should flow from a heart full of love, not lived by a set of rules. Relevant for new believers and Christians seeking to renew their commitment to living their lives for the Lord, Holy Life takes the guesswork out of finding the answers to pivotal questions like, How is a true believer to act, behave, and think in this world? How should I live my life to prove to God that I have repented of my sins and turned to Him?

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The present volume is the third in a five-volume study of church doctrine. The multivolume set covers the major parts of church doctrine: Canon, God, Creation, Reconciliation, and Redemption. The first volume begins with an introduction to the entire project on why doctrine matters, which stresses the ecumenical, global, and above all biblical horizons of church doctrine as a primary expression of Christian witness. The second volume discusses the doctrine of God. The purpose of this third volume is to reaffirm the traditional church doctrine of Creation, and yet to do so in a way that submits that tradition to the overruling, overpowering authority of Scripture. God the Creator, according to the Bible, owns the entire universe; it does not belong to humankind. We live in service of his covenant of grace; but we do so along with our fellow creatures in a common vulnerability and finitude. The volume addresses the question of how the church doctrine of Creation speaks to the manifold ecological crisis of our time. Church doctrine is not a luxury but a necessity for the living community of faith, by which its witness in word and deed is tested against the one true measure of Christ the risen Lord.

The world's needs are staggering and even the most passion-driven reactions, strategies, and good intentions can falter. But we serve a God who never falters, who sees the needs, hears the cries, and gives strength--through Jesus Christ and the Holy Spirit--to his people. Offering a comprehensive biblical theology of justice drawn from the whole story of Scripture, this book invites us to know more intimately the God who loves justice and calls us to give our lives to seek the flourishing of others. The authors explore stories of injustice around the globe today and spur Christians to root their passion for justice in the persevering hope of Christ. They also offer practices that can further form us into people who join God's work of setting things right in the world. Now in paper with an added reader's guide.

He has loved us from the beginning of time. And He will always love you and me, no matter what we do. Our God never changes. He is always the same. Our God will never turn His back on us. Jesus is our Lord and Savior. He is the same God Who died on the cross to save you and me. You have to understand that our God will love you forever; it can never stop. It is for eternity. Our God came on purpose to save us because He didn’t want to live without us. We are God’s children, and we are important to Him. He loves us more than anything in this world. No one can ever take His love from you. It is a gift from our God. We were created to love Him because He is our God. We were created in His image. You and I were spirits first. This book tells us how much He loves and cares for us. This book is about people just like you and me—some who believed and some who didn’t. Your life is really about your God and the plans that He has for you. He wants us to have a good life while we are here on earth. Never forget that this is not our home. We came from heaven. Our Lord Jesus came to set us free. But freedom is something that you have to want for yourself. And the only way that you can have freedom is if you believe that Jesus Christ is the Son of our God, Who lives in heaven. No one will ever love you like Jesus. There is no greater love than the love that our God has for us. Love letter from our God is to let you know how much He cares about you. And love letter from me to Him is to let Him know how thankful and grateful I am for Him.

Book excerpt: LARGE PRINT EDITION The Bible says, in I Thessalonians 5:3 (KJV), "For when they shall say, peace and safety; then sudden destruction cometh upon them, as travail upon a woman with child; and they shall not escape." As people are going about their daily lives, a suddenly event will take place that will engulf and cause great sorrow for the human race. An event never dreamed of will strike. One day you will open the door, and everything will end, changing you for all time. You will be stepping into the future, as your past will be gone. The Holy Spirit gave me a vision of a coming event that will transform all of mankind. To prepare me for this future event, I experienced an encounter with God at the age of sixteen. This was not something a person would seek out or plan to happen, but the Lord God Almighty came into my room one night, and fear and respect for him entered into my being.

Book excerpt: There are many books about theological exegesis; there are far fewer books of theological exegesis. This volume on the Pentateuch begins a six-volume work of theological exegesis that will span select passages from the whole of the Christian Bible. The aim is to read Scripture according to its theological shape as a witness to the living claim of God upon church and world, made known in Jesus Christ. The theological frame of the Pentateuch is grounded in the freely given promise of God, which gathers not only the people of God but humanity--and the whole creation--into the one purpose of God's redemptive love. Indeed, we live by that selfsame promise today and must struggle to understand and act in our world in light of it. The book and the series are intended for teachers, pastors, students, and readers attentive to the theological and spiritual dimensions of the biblical witness in all its brilliance and mystery.
