Book Synopsis The Hidden Life in Freemasonry by : Charles Webster Leadbeater
Download or read book The Hidden Life in Freemasonry written by Charles Webster Leadbeater and published by Jazzybee Verlag. This book was released on 1926 with total page 418 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The Masonic fellowship differs from all other societies in that candidates for membership have to join it blindfold, and cannot receive much information about it until they actually enter its ranks. Even then the majority of Masons usually obtain only the most general idea of the meaning of its ceremonies, and seldom penetrate further than an elementary moral interpretation of its principal symbols. In this book it is the object, while preserving due secrecy upon those matters which must be kept secret, to explain something of the deeper meaning and purpose of Freemasonry, in the hope of arousing among the Brn. a more profound reverence for that of which they are the custodians and a fuller understanding of the mysteries of the Craft. Although the book is primarily intended for the instruction of members of the Co-Masonic Order, whose desire, as is expressed in their ritual, is to pour the waters of esoteric knowledge into the Masonic vessels, the author hopes nevertheless that it may appeal to a wider circle, and may perhaps be of use to some of those many Brn. in the masculine Craft who are seeking for a deeper interpretation of Masonic symbolism than is given in the majority of their Lodges, showing them that in the ritual which they know and love so well are enshrined splendid ideals and deep spiritual teachings which are of the most absorbing interest to the student of the inner side of life.

Book Synopsis The Secret Legacy of Jesus by : Jeffrey J. Bütz
Download or read book The Secret Legacy of Jesus written by Jeffrey J. Bütz and published by Inner Traditions. This book was released on 2009-12-21 with total page 400 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Shows how the true teachings of Jesus were passed down through the centuries and shaped the vision of the Founding Fathers • Reveals for the first time the hidden link that connects James the Brother, Islam, the Cathars, the Knights Templar, and Freemasonry • Shows how the Founding Fathers used these teachings enshrined in Masonic principles to build a new nation With the success of Paul’s desire to impose his vision for the Church, the true teachings of Jesus--as preserved by his family and disciples--were forced into hiding. This clandestine movement was evidenced by such early groups as the Nazarenes, Ebionites, and Elkesaites but is generally thought to have died out when the Church of Paul branded these groups as heretics. However, despite the ongoing persecution by the Roman Catholic orthodoxy, this underground Jewish strain of Christianity was able to survive and resist incorporation into its more powerful rival. Jeffrey Bütz, author of The Brother of Jesus and the Lost Teachings of Christianity, reveals for the first time the hidden theological link that connects James the Brother of Jesus and the Ebionites with the religion of Islam, the Cathars, the Knights Templar, and Freemasonry. In The Secret Legacy of Jesus, Bütz demonstrates how this centuries-old underground stream of Christ’s original teachings remained alive and how it surfaced again in Colonial America, where the Founding Fathers used Masonic principles rooted in Jewish Christian teachings to establish what they believed would be a “New Jerusalem.” With the rise of a fundamentalist Christianity, this potent spiritual vision was lost, but Bütz contends it can be recovered and used to bring about the reconciliation of Christians, Jews, and Muslims throughout the world.

Book Synopsis Encyclopedia Of Freemasonry And Its Kindred Sciences, Volume 4: S-Z by : Albert G. Mackey
Download or read book Encyclopedia Of Freemasonry And Its Kindred Sciences, Volume 4: S-Z written by Albert G. Mackey and published by Jazzybee Verlag. This book was released on with total page 419 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Dr. Albert G. Mackey appears as author of this " Encyclopedia of Freemasonry and its Kindred Sciences," which, being a library in inself, superseded most of the Masonic works which have been tolerated by the craft — chiefly because none better could be obtained. Here is a work which fulfils the hope which sustained the author through ten years' literary labor, that, under one cover he "would furnish every Mason who might consult its pages the means of acquiring a knowledge of all matters connected with the science, the philosophy, and the history of his order." Up to the present time the modern literature of Freemasonry has been diffuse, lumbering, unreliable, and, out of all reasonable proportions. There is, in Mackey's "Encyclopaedia of Masonry," well digested, well arranged, and confined within reasonable limits, all that a Mason can desire to find in a book exclusively devoted to the history, the arts, science, and literature of Masonry. This is volume four out of four and covering the letters S to Z.

Download or read book The Symbolism of Freemasons written by Albert Gallatin Mackey and published by e-artnow. This book was released on 2020-12-17 with total page 262 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The Symbolism of Freemasons is a book about the teachings and practices of the secret fraternal order of Free and Accepted Masons, the largest worldwide secret society. Freemasonry evolved from the guilds of stonemasons and cathedral builders of the Middle Ages which regulated the qualifications of stonemasons and their interaction with authorities and clients. The author traces the origins of Freemasonry and presents an adequate information and excellent foundation to understanding of how Freemasonry became what it is. The book mainly deals with signs and symbols of Freemasonry, illustrating and explaining its science and philosophy, and its legends and myths, providing a good background for many of the basics of modern day ritual and procedures.
