This book was released on 2011-05-27 with total page 280 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: How To Eat To Live, Books 1 & 2, were first published in 1967 and 1972 respectively. In these books Elijah Muhammad, Messenger of Allah, pointed out very clearly and decisively that it all is from Allah (God) in person. He believes he met God in the form of a man and it is He who revealed the BEST knowledge of how to eat to live. We make no attempt at reinterpreting, reinventing or improving upon what the Messenger received from God. The objective of this book is only to make the reader aware of the means and ways the food and their by-products have been adversely transformed from the initial published dates of these writings to date, and from this awareness and updated information contained herein, can stay consistent with the principles taught in these writings. We felt there was a great need for an essential companion; essential, because through processing and commercialization, food has taken on a different form from what we had grown accustomed to. Since the 60's and 70's, food that was once called “pure” is not pure. Various government agencies responsible for checking the safety of food have adopted various definitions for political and economic reasons, but at the expense of health. Consequently, the word pure simply means that there are “acceptable” levels of toxins, or acceptable levels of mercury, or acceptable levels of pesticides, herbicides or solvents per part, per million. There was a time when brown sugar was a lot healthier than sugar is today. What was once stated as brown sugar was simply “raw sugar.” It was a lot healthier and when Elijah Muhammad recommended it, he did not mean what today has come to be known as brown sugar, which is highly refined white sugar with molasses poured over it. For on one hand he would not advise us to NOT eat refined products while simultaneously telling us to eat the new form of brown sugar. As well, take for instance the aspect of pork. This so-called food is completely prohibited due to forbidding of God and the indestructible worm inside. It is never to be taken for food, so much so, Elijah Muhammad advises that we should die first before we eat it. In today's market, there are hundreds of thousands of products that are made from pork and its by-products. Since the 60's, these products are not so well pointed out. These are just a few of the reasons this book is essential and will serve as an excellent companion to How To Eat To Live, Books 1 & 2.There are two main veins this book will pursue: one is the processes of food and the surrounding equipment associated and secondly, the commercialization of it for maximum profits and the expense of the people's health in general. Of course, secondary to this is the fact that bad food equals bad health, which equals a great economic boom in medicine, doctors and hospitalization. Not only will this book enlightened as to the problems, but it will also furnish solutions in the form of alternatives. We trust the reader will find great benefit in this essential companion.

Book excerpt: "Diets, like clothes, should be tailored to you."Holistic Lifestyle: A Layman's Guide to Eating and Living Your Way to Better Health and HappinessThis is the guide that you have been waiting for, dreaming of and desperately needing to put you on a path to eating healthy that utilizes a simple program that you set up and then watch week by week the pounds vanish and your energy increase. It was created out of necessity and desperation. My husband had to have open heart surgery when he turned 42. He also had four subsequent stent placements. After the last one he decided that he wanted to change his life to become healthier. So, the two of us went on a quest to find some magic plan to become healthier that we could actually live with. He did not want to eat tofu, nuts and twigs and I did not want to have to be a gym rat. We searched for a plan that would fit our lifestyle. But, nothing really seemed right for us or gave enough instructions to cover everything. What to do? Being a nurse, massage therapist, Reiki Master and Clinical Aroma Therapist I knew about many different modalities that influence our health. But, nothing seemed to pull it all together in one nice and easy to follow format. That was the beginning of this journey.I wanted a resource book that looked at everything, diet, exercise, stress management/reduction, how to cook, what to cook, what to wear, what to clean my house and body with, in a word one manual that encompassed all aspects of life to obtain mental, physical and spiritual health. This is a little bit about everything. I do not claim to be an expert on life or how to live it. What I have done is compiled all the things that have helped me in the past and that continue to help me to improve myself and my health. My goal was to have a resource guide that contained everything that I would need in order to obtain optimal health. - Anne Hunt

Book excerpt: The #1 New York Times bestseller answers: What if one simple change could save you from heart disease, diabetes, and cancer? For decades, that question has fascinated a small circle of impassioned doctors and researchers—and now, their life-changing research is making headlines in the hit documentary Forks Over Knives. Their answer? Eat a whole-foods, plant-based diet—it could save your life. It may overturn most of the diet advice you’ve heard—but the experts behind Forks Over Knives aren’t afraid to make waves. In his book Prevent and Reverse Heart Disease, Dr. Caldwell Esselstyn explained that eating meat, dairy, and oils injures the lining of our blood vessels, causing heart disease, heart attack, or stroke. In The China Study, Dr. Colin Campbell revealed how cancer and other diseases skyrocket when eating meat and dairy is the norm—and plummet when a traditional plant-based diet persists. And more and more experts are adding their voices to the cause: There is nothing else you can do for your health that can match the benefits of a plant-based diet. Now, as Forks Over Knives is introducing more people than ever before to the plant-based way to health, this accessible guide provides the information you need to adopt and maintain a plant-based diet. Features include: Insights from the luminaries behind the film—Dr. Neal Barnard, Dr. John McDougall, The Engine 2 Diet author Rip Esselstyn, and many others Success stories from converts to plant-based eating—like San’Dera Prude, who no longer needs to medicate her diabetes, has lost weight, and feels great! The many benefits of a whole-foods, plant-based diet—for you, for animals and the environment, and for our future A helpful primer on crafting a healthy diet rich in unprocessed fruits, vegetables, legumes, and whole grains, including tips on transitioning and essential kitchen tools 125 recipes from 25 champions of plant-based dining—from Blueberry Oat Breakfast Muffins and Sunny Orange Yam Bisque to Garlic Rosemary Polenta and Raspberry-Pear Crisp—delicious, healthy, and for every meal, every day.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The uterus is a remarkable organ—it is our first home, contributes to women’s sexual pleasure, houses some of the strongest muscles in the body, and even helps prevent heart disease and high blood pressure. However, in the West, the uterus has generally been viewed as insignificant beyond reproduction and rarely receives our attention except when it becomes problematic or when we focus on getting pregnant or giving birth. Even though health-promoting strategies for organs like the heart and lungs have become common knowledge, preventative measures for lifelong uterine health have been largely absent from Western medical care. Consequently, one-third of all women in the United States will have a hysterectomy--the highest rate in the world. In The Uterine Health Companion, anthropologist and holistic health expert Eve Agee reveals that women in many non-Western societies do not share our high rates of benign uterine problems or our negative attitudes about the uterus. Drawing on her research with women in the United States and abroad, Agee shows how traditional practices from other cultures can help create lasting health so that issues such as PMS, fibroids, and endometriosis do not have to be our destiny as women. Through poignant narratives as well as global insights, the book inspires us to develop new understandings about health and healing that affirm all women. The Uterine Health Companion demonstrates why the uterus matters and how we can take care of it, from menarche to menopause—and beyond. A comprehensive holistic plan including nutrition, exercise, and visualization guides us to promote uterine wellness and enhance conventional medical therapies. Chapters dedicated to specific uterine issues illustrate how to support our health through simple daily practices and fundamental attitude shifts in our relationship to our bodies. The book also includes strategies for women who have had hysterectomies. This empowering resource offers a prescriptive, balanced approach to developing and maintaining optimal uterine health, for every woman at any stage of life. Book excerpt: Finally, a food, fitness and lifestyle approach that makes sense for women from the dietry advisor to Sarah Wilson's 'I Quit Sugar' program! Find out why too much exercise, under-eating and low-carb diets do not work for women ... and what to do instead. For many years we have been led to believe that the best way to lose weight is just to 'eat less and exercise more'. However, for many women, this just does not work and, in fact, can actually restrict weight loss and facilitate weight gain. Worse than this is the damage it can do to women's hormonal health in the long term; creating thyroid issues, metabolic syndrome, pre-diabetes, heart conditions and menstrual disruption. Not to mention that it can affect mood and be a precursor for depression! Registered dietician and trainer Kate Callaghan understands this all too well. For years she exercised for two hours a day and ate less than 1200 calories. She looked like a bundle of muscle with 13% body fat and a sixpack, but she lost her period, developed osteoporitic bones and discovered she was infertile. As a fitness professional, she was horrified by what she had done to herself. So she set about reconstructing her health, a process she explains in The Holistic Nutritionist for the benefit of other women. Kate writes: 'Are you a WO-MAN? Yes? Then you need this book! Holistic Nutrition is written for women like me who find themselves up the hormonal creek without a paddle after years of over-exercising and under-eating, and being an absolute stress-head. 'I wrote this book for the women who might have been following a Paleo-style diet, which is working great for Joe-next-door, but it seemed to make them fatter and more tired. I wrote it for the women who have been told that they will be unable to fall pregnant naturally, will need fertility treatment and have been offered no alternatives. I wrote it for the women who need to lose weight and are advised, 'Just eat less and exercise more', even though they have been doing that to no avail for the past umpteen years. I wrote it for the women who are sick and tired of being told that their hormones-gone-bad symptoms are 'just-a-fact-of-being-a-lady-and-acceptit- or-take-a-pill'. In a very down-to-earth and conversational manner, Kate completely dymystifies the science behind female hormones and how they are affected by diet, exercise and stress. She explains why low-carb diets do not help women achieve optimum health and can in fact cause serious health issues. Using her years of industry experience and training in dietetics, as well as the latest in scientific research, Kate outlines the ways in women can help nourish their bodies to not only look good, but feel confident and beautiful in their own skin. Kate covers vital points for women of all ages and lifestyles, from the athletes to the new mums, from the hard-charging cross-fitters to those just wanting to sleep better and have more energy.

Book excerpt: Ralph Waldo Emerson has well said, "Get Health, No labor, effort nor exercise that can gain it must be grudged." I think Corona virus came to create a worldwide awareness on the importance of prevention and health. As long as you are healthy and are able to do all the activities of daily life you will never think of how important your health is. I say this because I realized its great importance when I lost my health and with the help of modern medicine integrated with alternative medical treatments, especially vitamin C and the nutrition cocktail, my health was regained. If it was not for that, I might have been stuck to a wheel chair for the rest of my life with only one leg. That's the reason why I felt the need of creating awareness among the public about this way of treatment for millions to be benefited by it.I can confidently say that a well-balanced diet, dietary supplements and exercise could save many lives even from the brim of death. I am the eye witness of a number of such cases. In this book I've detailed about the important roles of vitamins especially vitamin C, D, minerals and other nutrients as well as various types of exercises and life style modifications for holistic health. Various ways and means of achieving health through a well-balanced diet with proper nutrients, vitamins and minerals; symptoms and causes of several diseases and the amount of food to be taken daily according to your age are explained in the book. You will also find a table with the nutrient facts of above 100 fruits and vegetables. Some Recipes, included are an easy take away for your healthy diet. This book is written with the aim of creating awareness, inspiration and knowledge about the importance of 'consuming food as medicine and not medicine as food.' You are so busy running about making wealth for yourself and your family, giving too little importance to health which is your actual wealth. I like to quote a Spanish proverb here for your better understanding, "A man too busy to take care of his health is like a mechanic too busy to take care of his tools." In this book the protagonist too was very busy making money doing multiple jobs, paying little attention to the signs and symptoms of the bodies ill health, until finally his greatest machine (body) broke down and how his illness and multiple deaths in the family shook the whole system and turned everything upside down. All his parents and his own lifetime earnings sufficed only for the hospital bill payments. Realising this, how his children came into integrative medical treatment system and the developments thereafter, all very well figured out in 'A wellness food guide for your holistic health.' So I wish you an enjoyable reading experience and love to see you and your family healthy, wealthy and happy for the rest of your life. Let, eat healthy, live healthy and die healthy, be your motto for life after sticking on to reading till the end. Thank you. Other Books Published: The Golden Trophy of Father Sky; Josephinte Makal
