Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Seventh-day Adventist authors have maintained a fairly consistent understanding of Daniel's major prophecies, though several significant disagreements have taken place. One well known difficulty, and the theme of this research, has been the Church's interpretation of Daniel 8:14. In light of the current discussions, the purpose of this book is to 1--demonstrate that a clearer understanding of the SDA doctrine of the sanctuary may be obtained by studying the Hebrew rendering nisdaq; 2--resubstantiate the validity of the LXX translation; 3--highlight Daniel 8:14's close relationship to the rest of the chapter and the typical Day of Atonement; and 4--show the necessity of an investigative judgment.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This is often the question of skeptics, scoffers, and even troubled souls. Trials and tribulations of one sort or another crowd our personal lives, while corruption, conflict, and catastrophe command the world scene. Indeed, where is God in all of this? Asking the question is fair enough. Answering demands caution. God’s Unfailing Purpose: The Message Of Daniel is a cautious and biblical answer to that question. This book focuses on the heavenly throne from which God rules according to His perfect will and unchangeable, unfailing purpose. God is in absolute control of all things: the big issues of the world, as well as the seemingly bigger issues of our lives. Daniel’s view of history and prophecy shows that God’s kingdom is coming and that God’s will is being done on earth as certainly as it is in heaven. Daniel’s message is simply, “Not to worry–everything is under control.”

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The book of Revelation must be the most feared book of the Bible to read. Now you can read it with great delight for this book is written to help you, the reader to understand what your Father in heaven is revealing to you. God does not want His children to be ignorant of His plan for us. Neither does He want us to be ignorant of the things He has in store for us. He has said in Hosea 4:6, “My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge”. Therefore, get knowledge and use that knowledge to defend yourself and help others. I have to confess that I know nothing about the things of God. I have to rely entirely upon the Holy Spirit to lead me into all truths. The thing that moved me to write about the books of Daniel and Revelation is that I know that they are hard books to understand, but I also know that God wants His people to understand for He has loved us all with an everlasting love. Warren Reid didn’t write this book because of his will. Rather, he wrote it because he was commissioned to do so by God. The Books of Daniel and Revelation Made Easy examines the twelve chapters of Daniel and twenty-two chapters of Revelation. Divided into two parts, it tackles the books in detail. The author answers questions such as: • What passages of the Bible should you think about time and time again? • Why did Daniel refuse to eat the king’s meat and the wine he provided for them? • Why is it so important to pray to the living and true God just as Daniel did? • How can we recognize when Satan is working through someone? The Lord is coming, but we must be able to recognize the man of sin before Christ comes. We must be resolved in our hearts that we will not yield to him, that we would rather choose death than to bow down and worship his image or take his mark. May the God of Heaven give us grace to stand for Him in the evil days—and may this book help light the path that leads to everlasting life.

Book excerpt: Daniel and Revela-tion have been studied a long time now, and even some persons have con-cluded that some prophe-cies in Daniel and Reve-lation are multiple appli-cation prophecies. But this commentator has never before seen a book with parallel applications of the prophecies. That is here provided for the reader. The reader will notice that the parallel applications of Daniel 2, 7, 8, and 9 have only three parallel applications drawn out, whereas a portion of Daniel 11 has more drawn out. That is because the commentator has found seven legiti-mate applications of a portion of Daniel 11 (ending with the Ottoman Empire; Nazi Germany; Syria; Iraq; Northern United States; Russia; and the United Nations). To present the seven applica-tions of a portion of Daniel 11, the scriptural text had to be repeated. The Historic application was also repeated along-side the text for com-parison purposes with the other applications. All of the prophetic applications shown or un-shown are or were con-ditional prophecies. For the first applications, however, the conditions have already been met, and the prophecies have been fulfilled. For those applications still un-ful-filled, however, they can be truncated (shortened) at any time by a Rev. 11:15-19 experience.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: In many corners of the world these days the climate of hostility hangs over any overt Christian faith commitment. Any kind of Christian commitment is now assumed to imply intolerance and often prompts reactions that range from a low-grade hostility and exclusion in the West to the vicious and murderous assaults on Christian believers in Pakistan, Nigeria, Kenya, Egypt, Syria and Iraq and elsewhere. Such issues are not new. Christians have faced them ever since Nero’s lions, and even before that. Jews also have faced the same questions all through their history, most tragically sometimes enduring horrendous persecution from states claiming to be Christian. So it is not surprising that the Bible gives a lot of attention to these questions. The book of Daniel tackles the problem head on, both in the stories of Daniel and his friends, and in the visions he received. A major theme of the book is how people who worship the one, true, living God—the God of Israel—can live and work and survive in the midst of a nation, a culture, and a government that are hostile and sometimes life-threatening. What does it mean to live as believers in the midst of a non-Christian state and culture? How can we live “in the world” and yet not let the world own us and squeeze us into the shape of its own fallen values and assumptions? The book was written to encourage believers to keep in mind that the future, no matter how terrifying it may eventually become, rests in the hands of the sovereign Lord God—and in that assurance to get on with the challenging task of living in God’s world for the sake of God’s mission.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Often we read the book of Daniel in one of two ways--either as a book about a heroic man whose righteousness should inspire us to keep the faith no matter what our circumstances, or as a roadmap to the end times that can, through careful study, perhaps tell us the day and hour (or nearly so) of Christ's return. Both, says Bryan Chapell, are sadly missing the bigger picture, that God is the hero of this story and he is in the midst of his unrelenting plan to rescue his people from their sin and its consequences. We mustn't simply make the man Daniel the object of our worship nor the subject of our debates. We may differ about prophetic details, Chapell says, but we should never miss the point that the book of Daniel is, like all of Old Testament Scripture, pointing us toward the grace of God, ultimately revealed in Christ. Pastors, teachers, and individual Christians studying the book of Daniel will find this volume a welcome addition to their library.

Jesus Christ himself quoted from Daniel, assuring us of its truths. This book contains Daniel's predictions of four world empires that will rise and fall, his predictions of a final world empire that will be led by a new and powerful global leader, and his warning of an alignment of nations that will come against the nation of Israel in the last days. Where do we find ourselves in the events Daniel describes? We will take you step-by-step through the book of Daniel to help you understand its message and the events God foretells are up ahead.
