Book excerpt: A reprint of an earlier version of the same novel, this story is (very loosely) based on the Role Playing Game of 'Omnifray', designed by Matthew J. West. The story takes place in 'The Shrouded Lands' where magic is hidden and superstition is rife. A young warrior, Marek z'Drubov, agrees to become the champion of the goddess of the Dawn Light, Erria, and rid the forest of Duran Fal of all the evil beings, living and undead, which infest it. Joined by Stepan, a herbalist and fellow Brother of the Order of the Leaf, Marek rides out to do Erria's bidding. From then on, his life gets very interesting.

The kingdom is embroiled in war and bankrupt, and the Crusades are rampaging through the Middle East. The Dawnings are a once-powerful family of English knights who are facing the bleak prospects of their declining power and imminent destruction at the hands of enemies that surround them both at home and abroad. The first book in the Crusades series, The Knights Dawning sets the stage for a titanic struggle for survival that could consume a family, a people, and a kingdom. The epic battles and action-packed scenes are coupled with deep characters and complex relationships that give the story a depth beyond ordinary adventure novels. Join the Dawnings as they feud over power, love, jealousies, and old grudges that threaten to destroy the family from within at the moment they most need to stand united.

Book excerpt: Much like his knight-lord father, Edwin cares little for pretty words of poetry and song. Duty, loyalty, discipline: these are the only words that truly matter to him as a knight in service of the Brotherhood . . . that is, until he meets Evelina. Beautiful beyond measure, she’s also a Gravewalker, a witch able to make use of the emotional residues left behind in cemeteries and burial grounds to power her magics. Displeased with this alliance, Edwin’s father declares all-out war against her kind, resulting in Evelina’s death, Edwin’s imprisonment, and the disappearance of Mela, their precocious young daughter. Years later, Mela, now the most powerful Gravewalker in her clan, marshals her sisters to abandon their peaceful ways as caretakers of the dead and instead raise an army of undead warriors against the knight-lord and his men, threatening utter ruin for all. Freed by an irascible bard with her own dubious intentions, Edwin is now the only one who can put a stop to his daughter’s quest for vengeance. To save everything he knows, he must become more than just a knight . . . He must become the Knight Proper.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: About the Book A Knight's Journey! is a tale about a man's search for redemption as he struggles through both the horrid effects of panic disorder and PTSD. He is propelled through harsh, dangerous journeys to find courage, self-discovery, and love. Throughout the years, he has been haunted by a mysterious medieval knight who needs his help to find his own path to forgiveness. The engaging and inspirational story is told against the backdrop of the history of the Tower of London and results in a life-altering battle between the historical figures associated with it. About the Author Dean O'Quinn grew up on a farm/ranch in Montana and has always enjoyed the outdoors that this beautiful state has to offer. Because of a head injury sustained in college, he has suffered from panic disorder and PTSD for the last thirty years. In the past seven years, he also sustained injuries in four serious accidents. These injuries include a broken back, his sixth concussion, a skull fracture, his second TBI (traumatic brain injury), and a surgically replaced shoulder which is all metal now. These injuries landed him in a nursing home for a year. That is where he wrote this novel as a form of therapy to strengthen his replaced shoulder and to keep his mind sharp. He wants to help other people overcome similar issues with the same therapy program that he came up with for himself. He showed the progress in his own health through his writing, and this has become the culmination of his journey. His therapy creation is named "The Write Therapy," and this program is designed to help all people who are struggling these days. The first book that was published in this writing program is titled The Soldiers Who Ate Rattlesnakes and shows the beginning of this inspirational journey toward better health!

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Margaret Tyler's Mirror of Princely Deeds and Knighthood is a groundbreaking work, being the first English romance penned by a woman and the first English romance to be translated directly from Spanish. As such it is not only a landmark in the history of Anglo-Spanish literary relations, but it is also a milestone in the evolution of the romance genre and in the development of women's writing in England. Yet notwithstanding its seminal status, this is the only critical edition of Tyler's romance. This modernized edition is preceded by an introduction which meticulously investigates Tyler's translation methodology, her biography, her proto-feminism, and her religious affiliations. In addition, it situates Mirror within the context of English romance production and reading, female authorship, and the Elizabethan and Jacobean translation of Spanish romance. This edition will be of interest to scholars of gender studies and of English and Spanish Renaissance literature.
